Who's getting hexes? The guide for which does what is linked in the header as "HEX MAP," and note that you have to pick a hex that's adjacent to one you already have.

![]() |

No hex here.

DM Carbide |

OK, got it. Joseph, you'd previously taken hexes--do you want one more before you go?

GM and all - really appreciate the opportunity to play this with you as a semi-extended campaign. This last level was a struggle for our team (and in RL for players) but thank you for sharing your time. Very much appreciated.

DM Carbide |

You're welcome, and thanks to you all as well. I'll try to keep things moving more quickly for this level. It doesn't have as many environmental challenges, but it does have its nuances.

![]() |

thanks all! Thanks for running Carbide. I think I'm going to step back from the next level. A lot going on IRL. It was great gaming with you guys. If you need someone after the next level I can play I'll have to check the level range.

I'll miss you guys, and thanks and Kudos for running this DM Carbide. Mrs. Book WILL be continuing deeper. It is her destiny. But with 2 players dropping I think it would be a good idea to recruit at least one more player.

DM Carbide |

Glad you enjoyed the game, Alton. See you around the boards!
The module can be done with four PCs, but your party mix makes it a little more challenging. I'm good with recruiting a fifth, especially if we can get a front-liner of some flavor.

![]() |

Agreed. Particularly when there is a bard in the group. The more weapon slingers in the group the better for a bard.

DM Carbide |

If everyone else is on board, I'll post a request to Flaxseed. L4-6 Core character, preferably a front-liner who doesn't mind a long-term commitment.

![]() |

I still need to update Lybram to 5th level cleric. I will do that tonight. I think a 5th player would be good for us. I am willing to wait.

![]() |

I'm willing to wait too. Gameday has be a bit overloaded as well.

![]() |

I was going to ask if we were waiting to get new folks, but i see we are. Good. A rogue fighter or a mage would be good. Really anything would work.
To tell the truth i have not checked flaxseed boards in a long time. I did not even know game day was happening.
I finished Li'l Fella yesterday. It is hard to have an aminal companion without being a druid. The animal will always be under powered and levels behind.
With the gold, lybram will enchant his breast plate, buy the headband of inspired wisdom and a +1 steel light shield. He will upgrade his holy symbol to silver too. (1000+4000+1159+100=6259g)
I will add thes items and their effects later today.

Check out the feat boon companion. One of the best feats you can take if you have a companion with level penalties.

DM Carbide |

I don't think you can use it in a Core game, though.

![]() |

You are right. I keep forgetting that.

DM Carbide |

I'm in few enough Standard games these days that it's easier for me to remember, I think. Of late it's been Core or PF2e.
Right now AFAIK the plan is to wait for a couple of weeks for qstor to have more time, and then they'll bring an L4 pregen. I'd be OK with recruiting another player at this point as well--what are your thoughts?

![]() |

I am good with another player and or qstor as a l4 pregen. I think the only hole we have is the trap finding and lock picking.
That could be an issue.

![]() |

I'm OK with a recruit. 5 is my favorite number of players, 6 is great. Get outside that range and we get into sub-par. That is my opinion.

![]() |

Iust checking in to see if we had anynew developments or folks join.
I'll just keep checking back.

DM Carbide |

We have at least one new player--Iladora, melee ranger/5. I also got a PM which I didn't notice until after I saw Iladora's post.

![]() |

Checking in!
Excellent! Check in HERE. Have you played any of the earlier levels before?
I've played some of the levels, but this character hasn't.

![]() |

Welcome to our core group. I see you took Archery as your Ranger combat Style, but you also put points into power attack and improved sunder. Going for a versatile build?

![]() |

Switch-hitter, yea. In Core there are only two fighting styles, and it didn't make sense for a greatsword-wielder to take Two-Weapon Fighting.

![]() |

Forgot to mention, Viridian bought the +2 Wisdom headband from the last chronicle. Otherwise, ready to continue.
So Cleric, Ranger, Druid, Sorceress and Bard. Pretty good balance (less the disabled device skill already mentioned). Welcome, Iladora! :)

![]() |

Welcome Iladora. Thanks for joining our group. Is there anything unusual or interesting about Iladora you would like to share?
As for Lybram, he does not have sellective channeling and has an animal companion. These two points are unusual, some might even consider them design flaws. Lybram is not optimized.

![]() |

Of all my PFS characters, Iladora is easily one of my favorites because I like her backstory the best (which I won't make everyone else's problem, but if you're curious it's in the profile).
Mechanically, she uses an adamantine greatsword and targets the weapons of armed opponents to take them out of the fight quicker. If there are any undead, she will always target them first (as her primary favored enemy and also for backstory reasons) using either her bow or her Mobility feat, whichever is more effective.
She also has an animal companion (yay underpowered companions!), an eagle that's mostly used for scouting. Though in Emerald Spire it might not get used much.

![]() |

Are we waiting on me?

DM Carbide |

No, on me. I've been short of time the past couple of days.

DM Carbide |

The player who PMed me has a Bard/6 built to be a melee combatant (heavy armor proficiency, arcane armor feats). If qstor is still interested the 6th spot is theirs, but otherwise what does everyone think?

![]() |

Two bards is an overkill.

DM Carbide |

OK.
ETA: Alton, you still with us as a wizard?
