I'm okay with us bringing the lvl 5 pregen cleric.
Also Godhome cost us 3 of our 4 Emerald Spire tables when this was released. I knew there were issues with it but I hadn't realized it could just be skipped like that.

I'll get the chronicle sheets together tonight. Just so you know, you'll be getting 1 xp, 1 Prestige, and 1600 gold. As I said, the only way to get the full 3 xp/4 Prestige/4800 gold is to kill at least ten troglodytes, deactivate the Godbox, and take all of the items currently sticking to it. That's not a best practice for Pathfinders, though, especially when the troglodytes aren't aggressive.
Mrs. Book |
Not a big deal since the XP is balanced with the rewards and you have to slow down at some point or you will be too high a level to continue with the same character.
Viridian Torr |
LOL - I started reading the discussion tab first and was totally confused. Didn't we just roll day jobs etc? So that level was almost a diplomacy check = win level or equivalent.
Viridian will make his living.
day job/trapper: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Good with a cleric as well. Especially since this is core, otherwise we could do an inquisitor/oracle/etc.
DM Carbide |
I have the session reported, but haven't finished the chronicles yet--family visit this weekend. I also posted a recruitment for a core cleric.
Mrs. Book |
I noticed that. Hope its a fighting cleric. We could use someone with a high AC.
DM Carbide |
I posted it in Flaxseed, since it was preceded by Redelia's recruitment for the last two levels of the Spire and two other people asking about standard Spire games with openings.
DM Carbide |
Still no takers for a fifth slot, although I see there's a cleric/4 who'd been in GM Fuzzfoot's other Core Emerald Spire game. I sent them a PM.
DM Carbide |
Yes, that would be great. Thanks for your interest!
DM Carbide |
All right, we have two people interested in joining us--a cleric/4 and either a wiz/3 or a pregen (for this level, at least). What do people think?
Mrs. Book |
I'll let the others decide as I' like both.
DM Carbide |
I'm thinking both players; the question is, what character do you want the second player to bring?
Lybram Tendras |
Thanks for the invite. I am alway happy to play a core scenario or two.
Lybram Tendras, Cleric of Erastil 4 reports with Li'le Fella, his bear companion.
Lybram is a dark haired Isgarian man. He is approximately 6' tall and weighs roughly 170 lbs. He currently is sporting a shiny breast plate and has a mace, long bow and a battle axe (which he never uses as he is not proficient with it). At his side is a black bear cub, Li'le Fella. Lybram rescued the bear from a flooded river and is still trying to figure the friendship out. (I as a player have never had an animal companion and am still learning how to use the feature)
Hope to help. Something to note, currently, Lybram doesn't have selective channeling, so he usually only channels after encounters.
I have only played level 1 of this superdungeon. Thanks for the opportunity to experience playing more levels.
Corbrae Illynel |
Hi Lybram, thanks for joining!
As for the second player, I do prefer a created character over a Pregen.
Maybe a rogue or anyone with Disable Device would be a good addition? I guess the new player's bear can be used as a frontliner.
Mrs. Book |
With a cleric, sorcerer, fighter, druid, and bard already we have all our bases covered. A sixth is just a bonus and could be anything. With all the front liners (when you include companions) a character that can fight at range, or a buffing class, would be nice. A wizard would work or an archer/kineticist/alchemist bomber - you get the idea.
Li'le Fella |
This is Lybram's companion, which is relatively weak (lvl1) as druid level is cleric level -3. So, Li'le Fella is not the best to front line. Lybram uses him to mostly keep himself from being flanked and to deliver spells.
Should I add Lybram and Li'le Fella to the map? Are we picking up again by coordinating our movement through this level with the Troglodite guide? Or do you all head back to a base of operations? I would think Lybram would join there, with a letter of introduction from whichever VC commissioned this group to explore here.

The party just wrapped up that level, so they're back at Fort Inevitable. I haven't put the new map up yet.

Am I a joke to you? ;)
DM Carbide |
The sixth player should be dotting in soon, and I'll start the next level once they arrive.
DM Carbide |
Thanks, and same to all of you!
Lybram Tendras |
Lybram will purchase 2 potions of Barkskin for 600g total. He will forgo the magic shield at this time.
Without the list of beasts or enemies, Lybram will just go with his already purchased scrolls.
Hope this is where you want stuff like this.
DM Carbide |
I've got another offsite review going on this week, so I'll be slow to post.
Lybram Tendras |
There are alot of experienced players here and I thought I would ask here before making a fool of myself asking in the flaxseed forum. My question: Can you replay a special? I think I have played Siege of Serpents way back in in 2016 or so. I would like to play in the outpost special but I think I have played it. Anyone know the rules on Specials? I don't have any replays as far as I know. So ... I think I am out of luck.
DM Carbide |
I don't think you can replay a First Edition special without a replay.
You may have one, though--in addition to the one for your GM's star, First Edition GMs got a few others. I have three stars, but I've got 17 First Edition replays.
Lybram Tendras |
I used my GM replay in a FTF game for 3-26, assualt on the silver gate. I don't see anywhere that I have extra replays. The "boons" tab is the only place I know to look for something like that. I didn't have a ton of games played when they awarded those, I think. We had some reporting problems too. I have several sessions that I have chronicles for but were never reported through the website.
It was the first time I played anything at a convention, and I remember it fondly.
I will wait and see if they offer it later with a core table I guess. That would be fun.
DM Carbide |
In "My Organized Play," open the "GM/Event Coordinator" tab. It's got a breakdown of tables of credit for each system, Achievement Points, and replays.
Lybram Tendras |
Oh, I have eleven replays. Great! How do you use them? Is there something you have to do when the scenario is reported? And do you have to have the GM's permission? I would definitely want to know if someone had played the scenario before. I think I am okay sitting out this special. They really seem rushed lately. Like maybe the discord group gets done way too fast and drives the pace. My last one, I don't think we finished any of the combats.
DM Carbide |
No problem, Alton--hope you had a great time!
If any of you are interested in playing the PFS1e Outpost special in Core--probably T3-4--let me know ASAP. One caveat is that it'd be on Discord, though; the GM originally was assigned T10-11 Standard, usually runs there, and didn't get enough applicants. (The other T10-11 game--also on Discord, but a different server--filled right up.) Remember that you can play both Standard and Core characters in different tables of the same special.
Lybram Tendras |
I would be interested, but don't have anyone in the T3-4 range. I have a 5th level wizard and a 2nd level fighter that I would use in the event that the tier lined up T5-6 or T1-2 respectively.
DM Carbide |
Technically Joseph has a readied action instead of delaying. But it looks like the Undine ran instead of cast.
Yep...he could see the way the fight was headed.

Drop your name on the waiting list with the character you'd prefer to play, and we'll see what other people want to do.
DM Carbide |
T1-2 Core is open for signup. I'll move you up from the waiting list when I get to a computer, if you haven't been able to.
DM Carbide |
FYI, I'm the Overseer GM for the GameDay PFS1e special, and I have no idea what the time commitment is going to be for it--I've frontloaded all of the overseer posts and saved them on Google Drive, so I can drop them into the various game threads quickly, and that will help. I may be slow to post some days, though.
