Rilynn Rae |
Beguiled by the dragon's convincing bluff, Rilynn is slow to react when the shooting starts. She agrees with Sturmvanger that this seems like an incredibly bad idea.
"What are we doing?! Aren't we here to open the vault?" It's probably too late, but since they hadn't actually harmed the dragon yet, maybe it would give them a chance at redemption.
"Let's everyone calm down and not do anything more to antagonize our host." She turns to address the dragon directly. "This was a colossal misunderstanding. There, I have placed my tablet in good faith. Do not attack us or you will risk destroying the remaining tablets!"
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (15) + 10 = 25
Twila-5 |
Twila-5 ducks back behind the wall, waits a heartbeat, then sidles right back to her previous spot so she can (hopefully) surprise it with another shot.
Stealth for Trick Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (4) + 11 = 15
Azimuth Laser Pistol (F): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 91d4 ⇒ 1
Trick attack damage, if applicable: 1d4 ⇒ 3
Crap! Is it a bad luck dragon?!
"Nope. Sorry Rilynn. This thing has other plans."
phaeton_nz |
Unfortunately it looks like the dragon is single-minded on it's current course of action and the party is having a real string of bad luck. Maybe Twila-5 is right.
((Waiting on Seggas))
phaeton_nz |
[Botting Seggas]
Seggas prepares Bii and fires.
BioBolter ‘Bii’ (Castrolance) vs EAC: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8 Acid Damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
... and everyone fails to land a shot.
Kanavu fires it's breath weapon in the rough direction the initial shot came from (15ft cone) enveloping Cha'mon and Twila-5 in a cloud of acid acid: 4d4 ⇒ (3, 3, 1, 2) = 9 DC 12 reflex for half
I will kill you ALL and the Dreamer's horde will be MINE!. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Everyone is up.
Twila-5 |
Reflex DC 12: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Shucks. Out of Stamina points. If this character dies just before leveling up, just like her predecessor, I'm going to be bewildered.
He sounds like Morvruul. Shoving aside her wry thought, Twila-5 tries to focus on actually hitting this large dragon, which *really* shouldn't be that hard! She ducks back behind the wall to shake off some of that nasty acid breath before it has a chance to corrode her epidermal layer, then backs up a bit before sneaking out to shoot again.
Stealth Trick Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28
Azimuth laser pistol (F): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 221d4 ⇒ 1
Trick Attack damage, if applicable: 1d4 ⇒ 1
Cha'mon Cha'mon |
Reflex Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Cha'mon Cha'mon, is too slow and gets caught in the cone of acid. He curses as he is burned badly by the acid. Falling back like he is about to run away he quickly regroups, spinning back to face Kanavu and firing another basic inhibitor from his needler pistol. He then takes cover behind a wall.
Bluff (Feinting Stunt): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 Feinting Stunt: If your stunt and strike skill check and attack roll both succeed, your target is flat-footed against your attack and all other attacks until the start of your next turn. DC = 20 + your target’s CR.
Needler Pistol (Basic Inhibitor) vs. Kanavu KAC: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20 If the attack hits, the target then takes a –2 penalty to AC for 5 rounds.
Piercing Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Rilynn Rae |
How can you be out of SP? Stamina points would have replenished between episodes.
Morvruul the Merchant |
I will kill you ALL and the Dreamer's horde will be MINE!. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA
That laugh sounds ridiculous, Morvruul thinks to himself. When he sees Cha'mon Cha'mon enveloped in acid, he cannot help but laugh "BWUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
He takes another shot at the dragon.
Bluff to Trick v Dragon: 1d20 + 13 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 13 + 4 = 31
Ranged (tactical semi-auto pistol) v Dragon KAC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23
Damage (P): 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Add Trick Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 8
Rilynn Rae |
Sorry, nevermind me. I can be a complete idiot sometimes. I'll get my post in when I'm not on z phone.
phaeton_nz |
This time everyone (so far) is landing hits. (-18)
Rilynn, Seggas and Sturmvanger yet to go
Seggas Yakan, DVM DMD |
Whoops, I forgot to post here when I should have, sorry for the delay and thank you for botting Seggas.
Seggas gives the dragon a dis approving look. "OI! Evil laughter is OUR thing! You are no where near ready for a proper meniacal laugh. First your timing and form is s%@!. You should start with a lighter sound and then ramp up in intnsity not the other way around! Secondly, LOUDER! With a dragon your size your should be sakjing this whole compilex and I can barely even feel it in my pinky toe and finally you need to commit more. There's no heart to your laugh. I mean look at Morvuul over there! That's how you do a proper laugh, Notice the reverb? The ramping intensity? How he can barely shoot because he's so into it? THAT'S a proper laugh! Now go rest your lungs and come back when you can do it properly!"
Seggas raises her longarm and loads a dehabilitor into it, shooting it at the dragon with its terrible laugh,
Bii, Bioblaster: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (8) + 5 = 13
Acid: 1d8 ⇒ 8
If that hits and deals damage, - 2 to AC for 4 rounds.
phaeton_nz |
Seggas hits as well. (-26)
Cha'mon had already hit it with a -2 to AC - do those stack?
Seggas Yakan, DVM DMD |
Whoops I missed that he had Aas well but the nice thing is I believe they stack.
A creature can be affected by only one of your basic inhibitors at a time, though it could be under the effects of multiple basic inhibitors originating from multiple biohackers. If you affect a creature with a different basic inhibitor while a previous inhibitor is still in effect, the effects of the previous inhibitor end.
Sturmvanger |
The dragon's scales seem to thin after both Cha'mon's and Seggas' attacks and the Starfinders have a string of hits.
As bad an idea as attacking a dragon is, Sturmvanger hopes to keep the streak alive and, hopefully, finish off the dragon before it can truly retaliate.
Heavy Bone Blade: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Piercing: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 1) + 4 = 9
But his respect/awe/fear of such creatures is too intense.
Rilynn Rae |
Finding herself standing right next to Kanavu, Rilynn is in a bad spot. If she runs for it, her teammates get put at further risk. If she fights close, the dragon might kill her with one blow. But if they press the attack and land a few more blows they might just take it down.
She aims her finger at Kanavu and pulls the trigger. Spell resistance?
Magic missile: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (1, 3, 3) + 3 = 10
phaeton_nz |
Even with the inhibitors in it's system, Sturmvanger's attack still misses. But Rilynn's missiles land home (-36). The dragon looks in a bad way but it is still up.
The dragon activates it's Frightful presence. Everyone within 60ft needs to make a DC 12 Will save or be shaken for 1d4 ⇒ 2 rounds.
You will NEVER escape the Nightmare ... I will come for you in your DREAMS ..... MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
For some reason Seggas gets an mental image of a dark blue pony with a flowing starry mane, that looks like the ones from the planet P-0n3, now known as Equis, with both wings and a horn which says in ponish, but Seggas can somehow understand it, Not on MY watch
Either the dragon senses the presence of the alicorn, or Seggas's taunt about it's maniacal laugh really annoyed it, it lunges at Seggas and tries to bite her. However Sturmvanger is in the way and he gets the bite instead.
bite: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (13) + 12 = 25 piercing: 1d6 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8 + DC 12 will to avoid being shaken or frightened if already shaken.
Everyone is up.
Rilynn Rae |
Will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 At least we're not dazed.
Morvruul the Merchant |
If there is a 'Dreamer's Horde', then it must be mine! Not even a dragon will prevent me from getting what I deserve!
Movruul continues firing at the dragon.
Bluff to Trick v Dragon: 1d20 + 13 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 13 + 4 = 35
Ranged (tactical semi-auto pistol) v Dragon KAC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Damage (P): 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Add Trick Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6
Seggas Yakan, DVM DMD |
Seggas side-eyes Sturmvanger something hard.
Will Save: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
So distracted by Sturm she fails to notice the dragon being scary and spots him before shivering slightly, her skin raising slightly like scales on a snake.
Spotting the alicorn, Seggas's eyes go wide. "OHHHHH, I never found one with that coloring on P-0n3! I must get a sample!" She takes a quick shot of acid at the dragon, before pulling out a syringe and trying to pick the alicorn.
Bii: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
Acid: 1d8 ⇒ 1
phaeton_nz |
Seggas soon finds out that the alicorn is incorporeal
Cha'mon Cha'mon |
Tossing aside his needler pistol, Cha'mon Cha'mon puts two hands on his plasma guide sniper rifle and lines up the sights on Kanavu.
"I give up, we surrender," he says before firing.
Bluff (Feinting Stunt): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22 Feinting Stunt: If your stunt and strike skill check and attack roll both succeed, your target is flat-footed against your attack and all other attacks until the start of your next turn. DC = 20 + your target’s CR.
Plasma Guide vs. Kanavu EAC: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Electricity/Fire Damage: 1d8 ⇒ 6
phaeton_nz |
Cha'mon hits (-42) but the dragon is not flatfooted. Currently only Seggas can see the incorporeal alicorn clearly, but, through the bonded link, Sturmvanger is getting a translucent image.
Speaking of translucent, it is starting to look like that this dragon is losing it's hold on this plane.
Rilynn, Twila-5, and Sturmvanger are yet to act.
Rilynn Rae |
Rilynn knows a good tactic when she sees it, and follows her first volley of magic missiles with another, straight for the dragon's icy heart.
Magic Missile: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (4, 4, 1) + 3 = 12
phaeton_nz |
And that causes the dragon to lose it's grip on this plane and it disappears. This allows the incorporeal alicorn to appear in the air above, hovering in midair with it's wings outstretched.
For those of you that do not knoweth of what that was, that was a Nightmare Dragon, the sworn enemy of the Dreamers, whom I am allied with. Place the map fragments in the slots and claim the items that the Dreamer wants thy Society to haveth. I will inform Whisper in Solar Winds of thy success via the Dreamscape.
Do NOT attempt to maketh a deal with a Nightmare Dragon she then warns. It will not end well with thee. The Nightmare will never keepth it's word
Yes, the alicorn's common is still a thousand years out of date.
Twila-5 |
Will DC 12: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18*
* If this is a mind-affecting effect, Twila-5 gets an additional +2.
"Second verse, same as the first." Well, third verse. Whatever! Focus! Again Twila-5 slips back behind the wall, pauses, and sneaks out to fire at the dragon.
Stealth Trick Attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
Azimuth Laser Pistol (F): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 121d4 ⇒ 1
Trick Attack Damage, if applicable: 1d4 ⇒ 4
Cha'mon Cha'mon |
Forgot to make the will save.
Will Save: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Sturmvanger |
<Also do we trust this *strange-furry-dragon-mammal?*>
Will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22
Will: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15
The shadow dragon should not have tried to attack Seggas. It gives Sturmvanger the mental fortitude to fight off his fear.
Before he can retaliate, the group has dealt with the creature, even though Twila-5 puts another round into it for good measure.
He looks upon the alicorn quizzically.
"Do we trust this thing?" he asks the group as a whole. For some reason, it seems like he's repeating the question.
Rilynn Rae |
Sorry, I also missed the last save...
Will Save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
We're the Dream Warriors... don't wanna dream no more. Dream Warriors - maybe tonight you'll be gone.
Rilynn entertains herself with a song. Her tablet is already in the slot. Whatever this new apparition has planned for them, they will deal with it.
Morvruul the Merchant |
Will save v. shaken: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Twila-5 |
"This one knows more details and isn't making demands or threats. Seems legit to me." Twila-5 shrugs and offers to help put the remaining tablets into the slots.
I don't think we designated who's carrying which one, but I volunteer Sturmvanger to be the packhorse if no one else claims them. ;)
phaeton_nz |
Once you plug in the remaining two slabs, the force field around the central area goes down. The alicorn smiles at this and fades into the Dreamscape. The stairs lead down to a vault where various strangely shaped bottles and cryptic devices are stored on shelves: the Dreamer’s relics that they have come to retrieve.
With the relics retrieved and the site secured, you can make their way back to the ship. Once you depart, Venture-Captain Arvin contacts you directly.
He is extremely happy, inviting them to personally hand over the relics
to Whisperer of Solar Winds, who somehow knew that you had succeeded and had sent a message via their monitors. Exactly how these relics may prove
beneficial to the Society is as of yet unknown, but Venture-Captain Arvin and the scholars of the Communion Vaults are eager to hear what potent visions Whisperer of Solar Winds might bestow upon them in the future.
--- Adventure Over. Dayjob Roles please. ---
Seggas Yakan, DVM DMD |
As soon as the Alcorn appears fully, Seggas leaps at it with a syringe in hand. "I was waiting for this!"
As the Alcorn disappears the biohacker seems disappointed that she couldn't get more samples.
Profession Genetic tester: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
And is sadly seems the few samples she did get weren't that effective or useful, only turning Sturm a periwinkle color for half a day instead of the deep blue and stars coloring she'd been trying to get. But at least it was a better periwinkle than the ones on the market already so that was worth a few credits.
Sturmvanger |
Seggas has to tell him the name of the color repeatedly. He just calls it bluey purple. He does wander around Absalom station and tell people how they can also be bluey purple.
No day job for Sturmvanger.
Morvruul the Merchant |

Profession Archaeologist + Tool Kit/Clothes: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15
Amy Mercury |
Periwinkle huh? Amy says to Seggas later I'd say you got pranked. Still, I think it would be nice to be midnight blue with twinkly stars. Did I tell you I took up zero-g dance as a hobby?
phaeton_nz |
Game Reported. Chronicles hopefully out later today
Seggas Yakan, DVM DMD |
Periwinkle huh? Amy says to Seggas later I'd say you got pranked. Still, I think it would be nice to be midnight blue with twinkly stars. Did I tell you I took up zero-g dance as a hobby?
]
Seggas, leaning against Sturm in the Café with a blood red drink that smells like coffee in hand, looks up at the still slightly 'bluey-purple' Sturm and back at Amy. "Well if it was a prank it was one with bad taste." She frowns and fumes slightly over the failed attempt, but then perks up at the mention of Amy's new hobby. "Oh, you hadn't! how's that been? You have a performance coming up? We really should go on a mission together... I don't think you and Sturm have gotten to spend much time together."
Amy Mercury |
Amy frowns at the mention of a performance. No no no ... no public performances ... not yet anyway She seems slightly panicky But yeah .. for friends .. I guess I can arrange ...... erm .... something. I'm not ... that good .. but .. yeah .. getting there. Being dark blue and having twinkly stars on me .. that sounds really cool
[ooc]Amy will be levelling up to 5 after her next mission, so you and Sturmvanger need to get to 3 at least for 3-6 scenarios. She's doing Hard Reset tomorrow
Sturmvanger |
"You could just let us watch you practice. That way you would get used to having an audience without feeling like you had to be perfect. Or you could keep your hobby to yourself with no intention of sharing its results with others so that it is only for your own relaxation and enjoyment," Sturmvanger points out.
This Chronicle puts me 1 XP away from 3rd level. Extra annoying because I'm running the only 1-2 level table on the forum for the special coming up so I can't play him in it.
Amy Mercury |
Yeah ... I suppose that could work .... Got a zero gravity chamber? I .. usually practice outside the station.
Maybe I'd better find another 1-4 to GM
