Seggas Yakan, DVM DMD |
Unless we are handwaving the Dazed conditions, Seggas is unable to do anything.
Seggas blinks at the strobe lights as she gets surprised by them and can't seem to do anything but stare at them for a few moments.

Given that the button was pushed, then Cha'mon moved to the door which triggered initiative, those that were already in the main area has already experienced one round of dazed

"Who are you shooting at?" Morvruul-in-disguise inquires of Bogden. Looking in the direction of the shot, he recognizes the target...
Cha'mon Cha'mon!
"You want the damai dead? Why, he's a known criminal! I'd be happy to do the killing for you!" Morvruul cannot contain his smile as he shoots in the direction of the Starfinder. However, his shot instead heads in the direction of one of the guards...

Daze is a Will save - what is this effect?
Rilynn readies herself for Cha'mon's "party" by taking on the exact appearance of one of Bogdin's android slaves, including the collar around her neck.
Standard action:
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: personal
Duration: 10 minutes/level (D)
You make yourself—and any clothing, armor, weapons, and
equipment on you—look different. You can seem up to 1 foot
shorter or taller, thin, fat, or in between. You can’t change your
creature type (although you can appear as another subtype).
Otherwise, the extent of the apparent change is up to you. You
could merely add or obscure a minor feature, or you could look
like an entirely different person or gender.
The spell does not provide the abilities or mannerisms of
the chosen form nor does it alter the perceived tactile (touch)
or audible (sound) properties of you or your equipment.
If you use this spell to create a disguise, you gain a +10
circumstance bonus to the Disguise check (since it counts
as altering your form). A creature that interacts with you
directly can attempt a Will saving throw to recognize your
appearance as an illusion.
Then she makes toward the dance floor, and is confronted with chaos.

Seggas Yakan, DVM DMD |
Is there an enemy or other thing that happens between Cha'mon's turn and the start of round 4?
Cha'mon Cha'mon |
Finally, not dazzled by the light show on the dance floor, Cha'mon Cha'mon, moves out of the doorway he was silhouetted in and out onto the dance floor.
Was that Morvruul shooting at me!!! That rotten, four armed, good for nothing...
Aiming his needler pistol at Morvruul he yells, "I have you now."
Just as he pulls the trigger, Bogdin's enforcer steps into the path of the of the dart loaded with Cha'mon Cha'mon's basic inhibitor.
Bluff (Stunt and Strike): 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (9) + 10 = 19 Feinting Stunt: If your stunt and strike skill check and attack roll both succeed, your target is flat-footed against all attacks until the start of your next turn. DC = 20 + your target’s CR

"Don't run now!" Sturmvanger says.
Heavy Bone Blade (AoO: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Piercing: 2d4 + 4 ⇒ (2, 1) + 4 = 7
phaeton_nz |
The bone blade just misses the Vesk. Meanwhile the two androids cheer as Bogdin goes down. Chamon's inhibiter ends up stuck in the side of the bar.
But it doesn't matter anyway. Red, seeing his boss down, surrenders. The other vesk does the same, both dropping their weapons. By the time Rilynn blinks the spots out of her eyes - it's all over - unless someone wants to keep shooting.
Cha'mon Cha'mon |
"We got what we came for. Let's get out of here."
Rilynn Rae |
Rilynn blinks away the fog. "I want to check something first."
So long as she is unaccosted, she runs back toward Bogdin's office, looking for his personal computer.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14 assuming it's not too difficult with Bogdin out of the way...
Computers: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (17) + 13 = 30
She attempts to hack through the security and find his inventories of Android slaves and download them. If Twila-5 is with her: "Now we can get them all freed, wherever they still are. This organization is finished."
Twila-5 |
Twila-5 emerges from the fog, laser pistol at the ready to shoot at whoever's the greatest/easiest threat, only to find the two guards with their hands up. Oh. Okay. As Rilynn dashes back to the office, she follows to cover her and helps search for the computer.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18
"Now we can get them all freed, wherever they still are. This organization is finished."
Overcome with emotion, Twila-5 takes a deep, steadying breath. "Thank you, Rilynn. Now let's jet. Pity we don't have any handcuffs for those guards. What should we do with them so they don't call the authorities as soon as we leave?"
Rilynn Rae |
Rilynn looks around the office to see if Bogdin left anything noteworthy in plain sight, or if there is another safe, perhaps. Certainly, as a dealer of fine antiquities, he must keep some treasures nearby to show off.
"We could kill them," Rilynn answers indifferently. "But I don't think the authorities will concern themselves enough to track down every reveler at the club tonight. Bogdin was a well-known slaver; he had more than his share of enemies. Let's do a quick search of the place before we go."
Morvruul the Merchant |
"We could kill them," Rilynn answers indifferently.
"A fine idea!" Morvruul replies. After all, his death will create a power vacuum that a wise "businessman" such as myself could step in to occupy!
"Bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahaha!" The witchwyrd begins to laugh maniacally and wave all of his hands about, causing his disguise to tear and fall to the floor.
Sturmvanger |
"Time to go, folks. We got what we came for. Let's not be greedy and give any authorities who have called time enough to get here," Sturmvanger calls out, heading for the door and shepherding Seggas with him.
phaeton_nz |
So you go, with the last map fragment and enough evidence on Bogdin's android smuggling racket for it to be shut down for good. When you report your success to Arvin, he is pleased that you have both successfully claimed the lost map fragment and defeated a major player in the underground world of android smuggling. Historia-7, the leader of the Dataphiles, is particularly pleased, and she sends you a sincere thank you on behalf of all androids.
A few days later you are in the Loreseeker, a Pegasus class starship and on your way to Liavara, the ringed gas giant.
As the gas giant Liavara comes into view, the Loreseeker’s communications station activates and plays a pre-recorded hologram of Venture-Captain Arvin. The Liavaran Dreamer, Whisperer of Solar Winds, pointed us here. It took the Society quite some time to discern our target: the shepherd moon, Preahan. Most of Preahan’s atmosphere is comprised of methane, but don’t worry, the atmosphere doesn’t contain enough oxygen for combustion. Still, each of you should take precautions and wear protective gear at all times. The methane creates harsh conditions on the surface. There is currently a storm raging, but there’s no time to wait it out. These storms can last for months.
The core of the moon is hollow and filled with liquid methane. The repository is likely suspended somewhere near the core. I have coordinates for a landing spot close to a tunnel that reaches all the way to the core. Good luck on this mission, Starfinders.
Twila-5 |
"It's near the core. ... That'll be a trek." Twila-5 can't help but glance at Morvruul, wryly wondering how he'll handle it.
Seggas Yakan, DVM DMD |
Rilynn Rae wrote:"We could kill them," Rilynn answers indifferently."A fine idea!" Morvruul replies.
Seggas pulls out a thin paper screen and whacks Morvuul across the back of the head in a painless gesture like berating a dog. "No. I know that kind of maniacal laugh. That's a 'I' m going to be rich' laugh and given where we are, it's probably illegal or morally questionable what ever it is. So no, we aren't doing that."
==========
On the surface of the moon, Seggas looks at the interesting methane clouds and tries to not comment on how she's going to handle hiking to the core of the planet. " Uh well, if it's a long trip then we better get moving."
phaeton_nz |
Preahan’s surface is wind scoured rocks and hunks of ice. A snowstorm rages as you arrive, but the flakes are solid methane instead of water. The Loreseeker lands near a tunnel that leads to the interior of the moon but covering even such a short distance is dangerous with the high winds combined with the low gravity.
Possible ways to cross this distance is to attempt checks in one the following skills: Athletics to brave the storm, Acrobatics to try to keep their balance in the buffeting winds and low gravity, or Survival to find a relatively protected path between the outcroppings to shield them from the wind. A really creative solution is an automatic success. Three successes are required for this and subsequent obstacles.
Cha'mon Cha'mon |
With the environmental protections activated on his armor. Cha'mon Cha'mon signals to the group. "This way." He then points in the opposite direction. "Morvruul, you go that way."
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Morvruul the Merchant |
"So no, we aren't doing that."
"You wound me, doctor. You wound me."
=========
"Morvruul, you go that way."
Morvruul considers the terrain and the Starfinder's duplicitous words.
Survival: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
"Perhaps, I will," the witchwyrd replies as he heads off in the other direction.
Sturmvanger |
There isn't much to it but to do it. Sturmvanger makes himself as streamlined as possible, tucking his wings around him after activating his environmental protections and then testing his might against that of the wind.
Athletics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
Twila-5 |
Methane. Well, we're all going to smell lovely when we get back.
"Where's Morvruul think he's going?" Twila-5 shrugs and adjusts her balance to account for the wind and gravity, then follows Cha'mon Cha'mon and Sturmvanger out into the storm.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (7) + 10 = 17
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 14
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22
Rilynn Rae |
Switching on her environmentals and the aeon stone she had tucked away for just these kind of conditions, Rilynn surveys the harsh landscape.
As the rest of the team has already set out onto the surface, she's left with little choice but to try to make her own way. Having little faith in her limited physical prowess, she attempts to find an alternate route.
Survival: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 171d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 201d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Cha'mon Cha'mon |
3 successful rolls as a team or for each PC?
Morvruul the Merchant |
Morvruul tries to get out ahead of the rest of the team, utilizing his skills to try to keep his balance in the buffeting winds and low gravity.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
phaeton_nz |
Three successful rolls as a team - one each
That was just enough to make it to the cave without being fatigued. Morvruul starts going the wrong way but a gust of wind blows him off his feet and in roughly the correct direction.
As you journey down into the tunnels, reaching the moon’s interior requires some effort. With the liquid methane being less dense then water and the gravity so low, the PCs need to swim hard. But physical effort is not their only worry: the tunnels quickly split and then split again, making it easy to become lost. There are four key points to negotiate. Only one success is required per point. Roll for each point and then I'll work out how it went.
Key point #1: Tunnel splits. You must make a successful Perception or Physical Science check to determine which way leads further down.
Key point #2: Partial tunnel collapse. You must make a successful Engineering check to pass the obstruction, or a successful Strength check to lift the debris out of the way.
Key point #3: Strange runes on the walls may point the way. You must make a successful Culture or Mysticism check to decipher.
Key point #4: Quick currents! You must succeed at an Acrobatics check to ride the currents or succeed at a Fortitude save to tough it out.
Sturmvanger |
Sturmvanger is pleased that Morvruul made it. More pleased that they all arrive safely.
As the journey to the center of the planet begins, he does what he can to assist.
#1 Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 15
#2 Strength: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
#3 ...
#4 Fortitude: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Morvruul the Merchant |
Morvruul starts going the wrong way but a gust of wind blows him off his feet and in roughly the correct direction.
"I should have known that you'd be following me," Morvruul eyes Cha'mon Cha'mon warily when he "catches up" to the party.
#1: Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (18) + 8 = 26 "This way leads further down," Morvruul points with a finger from one of his hands.
#2: Engineering: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (8) + 10 = 18 "The obstruction from the partially collapsed tunnel can be readily passed through here," Morvruul points with fingers from two of his hands.
#3: Culture: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (5) + 11 = 16 "The strange runes on the wall point this way," Morvruul points with fingers from three of his hands.
#4: Acrobatics: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 Morvruul says nothing as he struggles to remain afloat with all four of this hands.
