I will need one more chronicle after this game to get to level 5. I can pick that up this weekend if that makes things easier.
Speaking of this weekend, I will be at PaizoCon @ Fox Den all weekend. I may not be posting as regularly during that event.

I'll probably assign my first 05-12 Chronicle to Roark to get him to Lvl 5... Otherwise he'll be a fish out of water in a high tier 3-6 game...

GM Puckers |

Well I believe so far we're all at 40xp before this game ends yes?

Roark will be at 44 at the end of this game. So if we're all at 44 at the end of this game then Roark's ok. I thought you'd all be 48 (lvl 5) at the end. Ok. My bad.

![]() |

Nicole is currently at 40 XP, and will be 44 XP at the end of this game.

![]() |

ah. ok. So Roark's caught up then. :)

I'll be away on some holiday family time for a couple days. Be back to move us along on Sunday! If Fran doesn't post by Saturday evening some please bot her if they would be so kind!

I'm seeing conflicting things on AoN about knockdown. Does it only require spending an action after a successful attack with the knockdown trait or must you make a trip attempt?
Knockdown [one-action] Requirements The monster's last action was a successful Strike that lists Knockdown in its damage entry;
Effect The monster attempts to Trip the creature. This attempt neither applies nor counts toward the monster's multiple attack penalty.
My reading is it takes an action and requires an Athletics check since that is how you do a trip. The Athletics check is done at no penalty and does not add to MAP.
Note there is no improved Knockdown, and Improved Grab specifically states the grab is done as a free action. Since there is nothing about the Knockdown being a free action, I believe it takes an action.

I haven't heard from Fran yet, and she hasn't posted since May 15th. Can someone please bot her regularly until she shows back up? I'd like to get this game wrapped up before too much longer. My field season is here and my free time is getting shorter and shorter.

GM Puckers |

In a quick search I couldn’t find anything.
Is there somewhere that Fran lists what spells they have prepared for the day?
Only thing I have to go on is what's on her profile character sheet.
I'll update later today or tonight when time allows.

For the most part, I've been using Fran's cantrips. We had a full night's rest before entering the cave, so she hasn't spent any higher level spell slots.
We can probably assemble a prepared list for her and work off of that.
Alternatively it may not matter much and we can just cast whatever she needs to and retroactively claim she cast it. Mostly I'm just botting her for now.
I hope her player is doing alright.

Hey folks, finally checking in. First off, I want to apologize for dropping off the face of the Earth for the last several weeks. Everything basically snowballed - work/life busyness cut into the free time more than usual, then when I *had* the free time I'd either be tired/unable to focus on writing or had other things seeking my time, and so the longer I went without posting the harder it got to want to sit down and post even though I knew I needed to at least check in with folks if nothing else. I definitely have a better understanding of and sympathy for others who've ghosted games and then later returned to explain how things happened and they fell into a shame/embarrassment cycle mental block about the lack of posting.
It also doesn't help that there was and still is an undercurrent of me just not really feeling Pathfinder in general as of late. Even with 2e simplifying the game in a lot of ways that I actually appreciate and enjoy, it's felt like there's just so much to keep track of and every time I turn around there's another 3 or 4 classes coming out or another big setting book or it's already time for another brand new year of PFS and the usual metaplot to go with it. So I've been in a weird place where I've missed the *people* but not...really missing playing all that much. Which also made me feel guilty, even though I logically know it shouldn't.
All that said, my interest level in hobbies tends to wax and wane over time so my Pathfinder lull isn't likely to be permanent. It's taken me longer than I expected just to try and figure out what I wanted to say in this post but I know you guys have been waiting on/botting Fran before closing out the current adventure. Feel free to go ahead and bot but if you'll bear with me a little longer, I'll try and get to that myself tomorrow/later today (since it's 3am local time as I type this). After that, I'll try and figure out what I want to do when it comes to playing and our campaign together, if that's okay. Thanks again and I'm sorry for worrying everyone.

GM Puckers |

I had a feeling that's what was going on, but mostly just wanted to make sure in the grand scheme everything was OK. Take your time.

![]() |

I know the feeling -- I got clobbered during Outpost, actually. When I run games and hit my stride it's great. But if something changes and I lose momentum it's really hard to get back in... There's so many new classes coming out that I don't know if I'll ever learn them all. I mean, I'm only now experimenting with a summoner (which is sorta cool, actually)...
Real like happens -- take your time. We'll still be here... :)

![]() |

Please take your time. As soon as the game turns into a job, it's time to take a step back and relax.

GM Puckers |

I'll be wrapping things up hopefully by sometime tonight. Please roll any downtimes, etc and I'll start trying to remember how to do chronicles and reporting!
Thanks for sticking it out.

I am not going to have much time for PbP for a little over a week, until June 25th, as I am attending Origins Game Fair.
Hil going with you?

The 'lich' thing. The most nebulous of the options by far. I'll do a write up on what is found out when time allows. I had hoped to get things finalized yesterday but it didn't happen and work/life is very busy today and tomorrow. Luckily Wednesday seems good, and the AC is pointed at my computer so I shouldn't be a melted mess. Its not often we see temps in the 90s here!

btw, 05-12 (Mischief in the Maze) is fun... way better than 05-01...

The next game is 2-23, An Agent's Obligation. Please sign up on >RPG Chronicles<
Also, add your icon to slide 3 in the >Maps and Slides<. We'll start once we wrap up this game.

Eek! Pressure is on. I'll see what I can't do to those chronicles tonight.

GM Puckers |

Let's see if I can't remember how to do this.
Chronicles are HERE
Please let me know if there's a mistake or you can't access them, etc.
All that's to be done is reporting, which I'll wait til this weekend when I hear back from you all the chronicles are right.
Either way, Chadius should be now on the clock!
PS, sorry this game dragged out for nearly 3 months!

I assume you did since that's what you said Roark's favorite color was!

Its going to take me a bit to remember how to play Stitch. Now that we have the uber healing of Vardarel Stitch can really focus more on emergency healing, post combat healing, and BLASTING! With Bella missing this next game I guess I'll have to provide more tanking power. While that scarf didn't actually cancel any attacks, having that miss chance on activation is pretty nice.

A bit delayed, but chronicle looks good - thank you! Going back to a conversation I missed out on earlier, Fran is currently at 44 exp with the Lions chronicle so I believe she's on track with everyone else in terms of level and leveling.
Got her profile updated with those small things; will get checked in and ready for our newest adventure!
Enjoy the con, Vardarel! I've never been to Origins but it's within driving distance (about 5 & 1/2 hours, give or take) so who knows what the future might hold?
This week's RL adventure has been all about trying to get some trees removed from our property so hopefully the adventure here will be less stressful :P

![]() |

After Bella I believe I'm up for a doubleheader... probably with Clover rejoining us for my GM Eval...
That's what I miss from living in the US. It's quite easy to go to cons or in my case, chess tournaments, because of the transport system there. I do miss riding the rails :)

![]() |

No passenger rails up my way, gotta get down near Boston/Portland to pick those up.
Fran: I'm also getting a bunch of trees dropped here on Saturday. Gotta keep those chickens and greenhouse safe from storms! And getting some extra light on the garden and yard will be nice too.
Stitch I believe is ready to go, I upgraded his clan pistol from +1 to +1 striking. Not really sure what else to get him.. He's in the low str and low dex category so finding appropriate armor is painfully inefficient.

![]() |

05-12 is almost done, one more encounter (if you play your cards right, it won't be combat)

![]() |

I am back from the convention and getting caught up on all that happened.
I have already played Agent’s Obligation and am down to only 4 replays remaining. Now I can spend another replay here, but this series is getting sort of expensive in terms of number of replays used.
What is our plan after this? I am hoping we will start going through some of the 3-6 replayables.

GM chadius |

>Schedule< is on the Campaign Tab.
After this, GM Tiger will host 2 games:
- 2-18 Fanciful March (3-6) GM Tiger
- 04-09 (or 03-09/-14) GM Tiger (both are 5-8)
If replays are short I could switch to Star-Crossed Court (1-23?) which I know is repeatable and I've prepped it already. It's not on the schedule, so I don't think we've done this one.

![]() |

Thanks for the link.
I do think we need to put more replayables in the schedule. 01-23 The Star-Crossed Court, 02-06 The Crashing Wave, 3-13 Guardian's Covenant. I think that is all the currently released 3-6 repeatable scenarios.
I would also like to take Vardarel through 4-99 Blessings of the Forest at some point now that he has the channeling feats that I most wanted for it.

GM chadius |

I have 4-99 and 1-23 already prepped, so I can add those to the list. I think GM Tiger has 2-06 run - I ran it with my Sprite. Can a GM run 4-99 by itself, I thought that was a multitable event?
Did you want to spend a replay on 2-23 or should I switch to 1-23? It's early enough in this scenario I can change it.

![]() |

We would need to catch a PbP online convention for 4-99. It is a multi-table special and has a minimum number of tables.
I would prefer 1-23 but let’s see what others say. I do still have some replays and could do it that way.

![]() |

I'm flexible whichever way people wish to do it. Prioritizing replayables for most scenarios is going to be important, and maybe reserving some of the new stuff ahead of time so people keep it open (or know they'll need to burn a replay ahead of time).
