There was a Ruby Fists Tournament AP. I made a level 11 Swashbuckler with Summoner Dedication and thought up a story for her. Then we thought about a GM rotation, so I withdrew her from the application.
So I'm playing her here.
Level 11 version is here for now and serves as a guide while I rebuild her.
Also, I should mention Pathbuilder 2e is an absolute gem. A one time purchase app (free version is pretty good unless you want pets or custom rules) that handles a lot for me.

GM Tiger is running plenty of Bounties (those are repeatable IIRC) and had messaged me on a few other repeatables they have prepared:
- 03-01
- 02-11 (Pathfinder Trials)
- 99-02 (United in Purpose)
For my repeatables, I have
- 1-01 Absalom Initiation
- 1-06 Lost on the Spirit Road
- 1-10 Tarnbreaker's Trail (the snow race, not 1-05. Sorry if I got the name wrong)
I also have a few quests. Here's the repeatable ones:
- Pathfinder Society Quest #4: Port Peril Pub Crawl
- Pathfinder Society Quest #9: Wayfinder Origins (level 3-6)
Here's my PFS Tracker records You can use this to see which PFS2 games I've played.
Lady Ladile |
Howdy! I'm running United in Purpose for a different GM Round Robin group that I'm in so I've got that prepped. I've also got the bounties I prepped for Gameday:
#3 Shadows & Scarecrows
#8 The Tireless Path
#12 Somewhere Below
As for characters...maybe a witch or a summoner! Or possibly an inventor if G&G gets sanctioned soon.
GM chadius |
All Pathfinder Society agents have access to the Gunslinger and Inventor classes and archetypes.
If you want to play with guns or robots, now's the time.
GM Tiger |
I have the following Repeatable Bounties/Quests prepared:
B09 - Fishing in Anthusis
B10 - Hillcross Roundup
B15 - Treasure Off The Coast
B16 - Boom Town Betrayal
Q04 - Port Peril Pub Crawl
For full length scenarios:
03-01 - Year Of Shattered Sanctuaries
In progress:
02-11 - Pathfinder Trials
99-02 - United in Purpose (I'm running this for another GM Rotation)
Looking to prepare:
B08 - The Tireless Path
Looking to bring a tengu swashbuckler, though I might create a gunslinger now that G&G is sanctioned...
Oh and for a shameless recruitment plug, I'm actually recruiting for 2 tables of B16. The links are in the recruitment thread in the Cottonseed Lodge...

Dotting in. Playing a skill monkey Mastermind Rogue, probably.

Stitch is 95% ready to go, along with his trusty construct companion and mount Meat Wagon.
I'm planning on him taking the Medic dedication at level 2 to help with some in combat healing, as well as it seems a bit better than my level 2 healing option from my construct.
Sticking to my trend of rough and slightly inappropriate characters with this one. Why wouldn't a back alley surgeon want to join the Pathfinders? Probably the solid benefit plan.
GM chadius |
Sounds like 2 players have picked their PCs. I just bought a couple of scenarios during the 25% off sale.
- Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-18: The Fanciful March of Urwal
- Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-20: Breaking the Storm: Bastion in Embers
- Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-22: Breaking the Storm: Excising Ruination
- Pathfinder Society Scenario #2-24: Breaking the Storm: Parting Clouds
- Pathfinder Society Intro #3-00: Year of Shattered Sanctuaries
- Pathfinder Society Scenario #3-02: The East Hill Haunting
I can get started on 1-01 once everyone checks in.
GM Tiger |
I have added 02-11 (Pathfinder Trials) to those I have prepared. So what's our lineup? I just need to statblock my new Swash but I'm ready to go...
So is Stitch related to Scratch? Tell Scratch that Clarence says hi.
And I'd love to play 03-01 again.
Roark Thunderbird |
Dotting in. My first Tengu... Unlike Quickblade, this is a real bird :)

Ya I think I've solved some of my issues with figuring out names for characters... make many of them related! Stitch is the younger, less morally concerned brother of Scratch.

My rogue here should be all done by end of weekend, I'll be ready to start after that. I need to adjust his feats a little.
Ya Stitch and Meat Wagon are 95% complete as well, just waiting on the books I ordered to arrive so I can flesh out the little details like regional languages and stuff like that.
I'm sure I'll do a bit of tweaking after a few games once we get an idea of roles and what works and what doesn't.
But for now I'd stuff Stitch n MW into the 'healery' role.
Roark Thunderbird |
Oh Fran, Gnimish says hi. He mentioned that he adventured with Bugtussle... :)
GM chadius |
Sweet. Looks like the gang is all here.
I added slides for 1-01 and put your icons on >Slide 2<. Make sure you can edit and move your icons around. We should copy these icons onto a common resources document at some point.
Anyway, I'll get 1-01 started in the Gameplay tab.
Roark Thunderbird |
Chadius, want to try using a Macros document? Might be easier/quicker than asking for mods...

Chadius, want to try using a Macros document? Might be easier/quicker than asking for mods...
Ya getting one of those set up would be great! Then explain to me how to use it once its done :)
Roark Thunderbird |
The doc is read only as it is. Making a copy will make it editable.
Basically, you enter your skill scores, then select the training level. It's got logic in the spreadsheet so that if you choose Scout as your Exploration Activity, it will add 1 to your Initiative. If you choose "Avoid Notice" it will use Stealth for Initiative. The skills listed are those that we would roll secret checks on -- so you won't see Athletics or Performance. Have a look and play with it.
Roark Thunderbird |
Actually, I modified it some time ago to accommodate Discord dice rolls. The latest version is actually enlarged to accommodate eidolons. Doug is aware of the mods I've made. He's the one who added the logic that makes sure the +1 for Scouting is only added once.
Roark Thunderbird |
I'll properly introduce Roark tomorrow -- it's actually a nod to Jason Keeley's character (of the same name) in the Band of Bravos stream.

Just to comply with the Organized Play Foundation Community Standards on damage by friendly fire, Roark has no objection unless he is dying, unconscious or in danger of either (or can be immediately healed to avoid either condition).
Stitch Steeltoe |
Stitch also has no issue with getting hit with some friendly fire if it makes sense and isn't going to kill him out right.
On that same subject, Stitch likes to use Risky Surgery for his treat wounds function when it makes sense. Once he's level 2 he'll have battle medicine and medic dedication for the chance at bigger heals once he starts going for those DC20 + checks at expert and higher.
Just looking for input on if you're typically going to be up for the d8 damage before getting treatment. At the moment he's +5 medicine vs DC15, or +7 with risky surgery vs DC15. Next level it'll jump up considerably to +8/+10 expert and often going after that DC20 for the hp bonus from the medic dedication.
Roark Thunderbird |
Assurance in Medicine will be great at Lvl 3, especially with Risky Surgery because at the base DC you're pretty much guaranteed 4d8 healing.
Stitch Steeltoe |
Assurance negates any non proficiency bonuses to your roll so really kind of waste all the bonuses from wisdom and risky surgery. Certain situations where you don't want to chance a bad roll I'd see the use, but I'll stick to Stitch's chaotic nature and take the risk! Expanded healer's tools also come online at level 3, so another +1 item bonus.
So with the assurance medicine check at level 3 under those circumstances would be: 10 + 4 + 3, so DC17 vs DC15. Risky surgery would make the success a crit success so: 4d8 - 1d8.
Going with just a regular risky surgery check and no assurance at level 3 you're looking at: d20 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 2 + 1. So a 8+ roll vs DC20 ends up with: 4d8 + 15 - 1d8.
Going with just a regular risky surgery check and no assurance at level 3 you're looking at: d20 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 2 + 1. So a 3+ roll vs DC15 ends up with: 4d8 - 1d8.
So basically it comes down to assurance being a 10% savior from a fail vs DC15 at level 3. I plan to get that talisman that guards against crit failures on medicine checks asap for those natural 1's.
---
Scaling it up to level 5 (including +2 wisdom at level 5) we're looking at the following:
So with the assurance medicine check at level 5 under those circumstances would be: 10 + 4 + 5, so DC19 vs DC15. Risky surgery would make the success a crit success so: 4d8 - 1d8.
Going with just a regular risky surgery check and no assurance at level 5 you're looking at: d20 + 4 + 5 + 3 + 2 + 1. So a 5+ roll vs DC20 ends up with: 4d8 + 15 - 1d8.
Going with just a regular risky surgery check and no assurance at level 5 you're looking at: d20 + 4 + 5 + 3 + 2 + 1. So a 1+ roll vs DC15 ends up with: 4d8 - 1d8.
So then it comes down to assurance being a 5% savior from a crit fail vs DC15 at level 5.
---
Scaling it up to level 7 (including master rank and the +2 wisdom at level 5) we're looking at the following:
So with the assurance medicine check at level 7 under those circumstances would be: 10 + 6 + 7, so DC23 vs DC20. Risky surgery would make the success a crit success so: 4d8 + 15 - 1d8.
Going with just a regular risky surgery check and no assurance at level 7 you're looking at: d20 + 6 + 7 + 3 + 2 + 1. So a 11+ roll vs DC30 ends up with: 4d8 + 40 - 1d8. *High failure chance and crit fail on 1 or 2.
Going with just a regular risky surgery check and no assurance at level 7 you're looking at: d20 + 6 + 7 + 3 + 2 + 1. So a 1+ roll vs DC20 ends up with: 4d8 + 15 - 1d8.
Long story short: When you've invested in the skill and have a good bonus, avoid assurance for me personally on this one. Playing an 8 wisdom goblin Chirgeon is another story!
*My 2c

Roark follows Fran, apparently fascinated at how this seemingly shy individual is much more than she seems.
Funny you say that, I'm actually thinking of reworking Fran a little bit once this scenario concludes. Someone as shy/anxious as I've been playing her prooooobably shouldn't be trained in Diplomacy, for starters :)

@GM and Stitch -- just to be clear. I'm not offended by the exchange between Stitch and Roark. The reference to infamy was in jest -- I was more thinking of the initial interaction between Buzz Lightyear and Woody in the first Toy Story movie... the scene where Buzz says something to the effect of "If we were on my home planet, I'd tolerate it. (pauses) But we're not on my home planet, are we..." Next scene shows an external shot where Buzz tackles Woody and they're rolling on the ground. :)
Stitch Steeltoe |
I haven't watched Toy Story really, but glad I didn't offend Roark. Stitch is a bit rough around the edges, as are most of my Dwarves. I even (so far at least, it may change before level 2) bumped his CHA to 10!

This is the scene I'm referring to.
Stitch Steeltoe |
After a closer look to Stitch's ability scores I realized I couldn't have the spread that I had based on the restrictions of his background/class/ancestry/etc.
When corrected his Dex goes from 14 to 12, Con from 12 to 14, Wis 14 to 16, Cha 10 to 8.
I wonder if he'll ever hit anything with his nice fatal clan pistol.. odds aren't great.
Stitch Steeltoe |
It hasn't come up yet, but it will at some point. What exactly would be the DC for 'a standard or difficult DC for your level'?
Examples:
The difficult DC based on level is referred to in fixing a broken innovation and modifying it. This is the link to the table they refer to, but what is the level you use as a basis? 0? 1? What is 'difficult'?
Thoughts?
Bella Sidare |
The overall >Difficulty Page< has a section on the bottom to cover difficulty: >here<.
I would say difficult is usually a +2. Due to the overall lesser bonuses of 2e, even a +2 bonus is huge at lower levels.
Stitch Steeltoe |
Ok, so I assume that's the same table as earn income isn't it? What do you use as the target's level? 0 or 1? Isn't earn income a lvl 0 task for a level 1?
I just want to be sure we have it sorted out before it comes up and we're trying to figure it out on the fly.
Bella Sidare |
Earn Income uses the same difficulty table, IIRC.
AoN has a >Earn Income Calculator< that I use because I never remember all of the income rules.
Stitch Steeltoe |
Oh that's neat, didn't know about that calculator.
So the DC for Stitch's Overdrive at level 1 would be 14 or 15?
His rebuild innovation (difficult DC) would be +2 that value then?
GM chadius |
You're level 1, so the standard DC for Overdrive is 15.
The >Innovator< text online says you need to hit a high DC. Ugh. Nice and vague, so it enters the wonderful world of "Ask your GM"!
If you ask me, I would say it's a +2 DC.
