Question about field of razors, though - why do you say it’s without a save?

Holy sh*t it has a basic Reflex save. I did not notice that whatsoever.

That said, I'm still going to rule it the same, because such high damage for a spell like that still doesn't make sense if it also a) makes long-lasting difficult terrain, b) can trigger metal weaknesses, and c) can have its area increased really really easily.

The thing that confused me was that 2e etheric shards explicitly mentions the Reflex save in the description of the spell for when the save is made. FYI, that's also how I'll rule field of razors (the save is made at the end of a move action through the area).

EDIT: Facepalm I even had a thing about the reflex save in my house rule document. Wow. Egg on my face.

Isn't hellfire usually half fire and half unholy?
Although if this is special and none of it is fire, that's fine. I don't know anything about this particular dragon.

It was half-and-half in 1e. In 2e, the hellfire works exactly like it does in the spell divine immolation, which is that it's basically just whichever is more detrimental to the creature taking the damage (which, in most cases, is going to be the spirit damage).

Rivozair's ability makes ALL fire damage she deals act just like that, including fire damage from her spells.

The exact wording is "A creature takes spirit damage instead of fire damage if that would be more detrimental to the creature (as determined by the GM)." Which is almost identical wording as that in divine immolation.

Both times Chance has cast this spell, I thought about trying to adapt the lyrics to ”Sword of Damocles” from Rocky Horror Picture Show for his verbal component, but so far I haven’t had the time. #BardGoals

I greatly prefer musical theater to opera, but I am wildly excited about the Curtain Call AP.

At level 12, Chance learns a new ritual up to 6th rank. Any thoughts on creating a SCIF for the Silver Ravens with Guards and Wards Ward Domain? It probably wouldn’t make sense to cover all of the Lucky Bones complex with it, but a protecting a couple of rooms for the Council to hold sensitive discussions might be a good idea.

On the inventory sheet, I marked off these two items for Chance:
Scroll of 4th rank soothe
Wand of thundering echoes 4th rank

Also the greater salve of antiparalysis - I don’t care who carries it, I just wanted to make sure someone took it so it wouldn’t get sold. Maybe Edrakk should take it instead?

For the same reason, I marked the 3 greater healing potions as “Divided” - anyone who wants one should say so, but we don’t want to forget them. I’d be happy to take one for Chance - he goes down often enough - but I don’t feel strongly about it. Jisara and Edrakk have done such a good job keeping us all alive that I’m less concerned about consumable healing items than I would be otherwise.

I also wanted to mention again that Chance has access to the rare bard feat Silver’s Refrain. It’s not the BEST feat, but it’s thematically appropriate.

Vitalis gains a Champion feat and a Skill feat at 12.

He'll take the champion feat Blade of Justice and the skill feat Unmistakable Lore.

The rest is just his level increase to rolls and his hp.

I looked through the treasure and there wasn't anything I wanted to keep. I checked off a few items as sell.

Hey folks, sorry! I was on a trip.

Level 12!
Witch feat: Coven Spell. This gives me a reaction I can spend to either add a status bonus to damage to a spell equal to its rank (so +6 to a telekinetic projectile or what have you) or apply a spellshape effect. What that second part would do is let one of you use my Familiar Conduit ability and use Thatch as an origin point for any spell with a range, like lay on hands. You just need to be within 30 feet of me.

I'm definitely gonna take that wand of 3rd-rank fear also.

No, the bell was located inside the room. Not magic or anything, just a bell that gets rung when the door is opened.

But the bell was also quiet enough that the only people who COULD have been alerted by it are the guys currently in the room.

Wait...I just realized something. Edrakk, what grade of silver are your daggers? Because in order to have the +2 weapon potency rune (a level 10 rune) it would need to be standard-grade, which costs 968 gp apiece.

The rules are very vague with how it works in this particular instance (since the silver is not being used to "make" the bandolier), but I feel that the spirit of rules is to prevent 1e's "one-time minuscule tax for a precious material."

If you just replace the +2 rune with a +1 rune then that avoids the problem.

Oh, they're only silver because of the song of silver. I do have one dagger that's silver, which I would assume is low-grade, so that might not work, so I'd just need to replace that.

Does the status penalty to “all your checks and DCs” from the frightened condition apply to the affected creature’s Armor Class? I think the answer is yes, but I only just thought about it because the definition of AC in Player Core makes it much clearer than it was in the CRB that AC is just a specific Difficulty Class. If that’s correct, I expect it was probably true pre-Remaster as well, I just didn’t notice until now.
