Ok, once the device is set in motion, there will be 10mins to evacuate everyone and everything. After that, the mission is accomplished.

The grand ball and finale back in Kintargo will be the conclusion of this book. However, it is more complex than this keep and could take months to resolve. We have possibly lost 1-2 players, so running it will be a challenge. Rather than bot them, I could look at a couple PC/NPC options or even ask if people are willing to see this through to conclusion.

Let's get a roll call of who is here and then decide -- personally, I'd rather move forward - and would be fine with bringing in new blood to help with that, if there's quality folk to be had. I don't hate the idea of NPCs, but that seems like way more work for you Aarvid.

And, honestly, if it helps with moving forward, I could even change characters to someone more face-y if it would help.

I am ok to continue if there is enough interest. I do not expect we would find anyone willing to join for the last part of a book (many would only want to start the entire series, except people like Kenji who completed books #1 & #2 and waited for us to reach #3).

I am not sure if Lubella and Kenji would potentially return, so I'd not want to utilize their PCs. We can park them in Kintargo as NPC like we did with a couple others. Working day jobs or sources of information.

My biggest concern is the last part is a melee-heavy grinder and could overwhelm the 3 (or even 4). There are some NPC's to be had to assist but not carry the battle.

Anyway, you can each level to 9th. I will post the wrap up here and return to Kintargo.

Beorn? Is that you? I have not seen hide nor hair of you since that old geezer Noonan was left high and dry in the desert? That one??? The one with a crazy dwarf Dwalindor the Pahmet flying around in a stolen pyramid or something?

So you have this bard that made it to 2nd level and then were abandoned by the GM? I actually inherited this game when their original GM left years ago.

I'd have no problem if you joined, but you would have to jump up a few levels (7 to be exact). Up to the others if they want to swap out a halfling bard for a halforc bard. :)

We are heading into the final chapter of the 3rd book (as you probably saw).

Sidius - teleport is always good. Cloudkill can be good in many situations but is ineffective against devils, elementals and undead. All of which appear in the later episodes. So actual mileage will vary.

It's been a rough AP, honestly. Witch spelllist isn't useful against outsiders and undead, generally. But at least I can heal?

I'll look again for something that's potentially of broader use (that won't just be save-negated every time I cast it). But, yes, it's hard to beat Teleport.

Hey folks, upon further consideration I have decided to withdraw from the game. I am starting a new job soon, which means that my available free time will drastically decrease, so I am downsizing the number of active games.

It was a really difficult decision, as we have been playing together for years and made it this far, but between the loss of several PCs, the slow down (I am guilty of this one as well) and the rest of the book being combat-heavy, I've lost my motivation to continue.

I really enjoyed playing in this game, and GM Aarvid has been doing a fantastic job getting us this far! Wishing everyone the very best, and hope our paths will cross again on this site. :)

Talvek, I am sorry, I had cross-posted with you, but I was getting to that decision point too with the loss and dealing with the estate of my mom, and now my wife's parents in poor health.

I hate to leave you all hanging...but I know that last gala is going to be a grinder. Playing F2F would be better for that one.

But will let the others chime in...7 years since the original GM started this game is a long time.

Sidius: Agreed on the spell selection vs the majority of foes in this AP.

Healing will be very useful. If saving vs spells is to be avoided, waves of fatigue or hungry earth? I have never used either, but both are saveless.

Well, if Aarvid is also stepping back, I think it's safe to say this is gone. It's generally *very* challenging to get a replacement GM - and the remarkably rare times that *does* work, it kinda needs an established party - which we've also lost.

So, that to say, I guess I don't need to worry about my level 5 spells after all. ;)
