The player posted in another game on Sep. 4. I'll send a private message, maybe their board notifications are wonky (I've had that happen before, so the board stops showing new posts).
ty. What about Kol?
That's who I was talking about?
Kol's player has posted in the last week and a half or so, and I sent a private message to the player as a reminder.

Male Gnoll Brawler (Constructed Pugilist, Wild Child) 1
If we have to get on board, the “empty ship” trick the Falcon pulled against the first Death Star seems like a good option, except that there’s apparently a force user who knows all of you, so unless we can find a ysalamiri that’s probably not an option. That kind of thing is part of why I haven’t said much: near as I can tell it’s all dead ends, and the adventure wants us to take on a vastly superior ship and…hope for the best? I was hoping the people who didn’t just get here might know something I don’t.

I think we took like four days to refit the Banshee so healing should be no problem during that time, eh? :D
I agree with Chalkou that I see no way forward that doesn't result in us getting immediately vaporized, especially since our one computer user seems to have vanished.
M Catharese Jedi 5 (HP 59/59 Threshold 15);Fort 16, Reflex 20, Will 17; Init +9; Force 5/7; Percept +9
Damn, that kind of sux.
I don't know what else to say. :(
We Need to figure an approach that does not see us on a loosing fight with a bigger ship.
My major hope is that the Hutt that we were supposed to have seen gutted the ship more than what could have been fixed in the time that we have been bouncing around.

Well, I have Use Computer but my bonus is not as high as Kol's.

No pressure, Piston! The entirety of continuing the adventure rides on you! :D
Prox has computer use probably not as good as Piston's but she can help if needed, Use Computer +8. However, her strong or main skills are Gather Information, Mechanics, and Perception. She also has a Pilot +8 so again perhaps not the best but she can pilot most things.

That's great, we can get an Aid on that Use Computer for a +2 (Prox would only fail the Aid roll on a 1) and see if we can glean some useful information.

I vote that Artee does the finishing touches on the final checks for the systems and we can just Aid Another.
Piston's Use Computer is +8, remember, he was built as a soldier/scout, I only dipped into Scoundrel to start to build him into a slicer cause the group needed one!
Hey Piston were you the one that would figure out how long it takes to go from point A to point B ?
Also if using a semi-circumnavigational route so we come in from the opposite side we left from (as I assume Hyperspace is linear travel in nature) how much would that add to the travel time?

Piston did last time but as we now know Artee is the better choice for the navicomputer jumps, Piston is just assisting. Your check was for precisely the return jump to confront our foes once more. And a pretty sweet roll that was!
No you miss understand there is something someone referenced to translate the roll made into the time it takes to move from point A to point B -- not the roll but the results of the roll which was a 35
Good Evening Esteemed Members of the Forums,
I am looking at gauging whether there is interest in playing a Star Wars game using the Saga System? I am looking for possible 4-6 players in most probably the end of the Clone Wars or the beginning of the Empire/Rise of the Rebellion, maybe even trying to run the Dawn of Defiance campaign.
I think that I would allow most of the books in terms of classes, talents, feats, and Force Powers, PRCs (with DM approval).
I think pretty much anything Star Wars will drum up interest with the Mandalorian being so popular.
I've read the rules but have never played it. (We always did the D6 Star Wars stuff) Might be interested, especially if the Dawn of Defiance campaign is in play.
Totally love the SW Saga system and I know it well and have all the books. Star Wars makes for roleplaying that is fun and nearly everyone can relate to.
It has been 5 years since the Clone Wars came to an end, bringing peace to a galaxy torn by war. The people celebrate both the cessation of violence, and the simultaneous end of the corrupt bureaucracy that had brought the machinery of the Republic to a halt. The mysterious, corrupt Jedi Order has been eliminated, and every being in the galaxy can rise to a position of greatness.
However, not all is as glorious as it appears. While the Jedi Order is considered no great loss, the Imperial war machine yet churns. Every day, new Star Destroyers come out of the Kuat Drive Yards and the shipyards at Fondor and Bilbringi. New star fighters designed by Sienar Fleet Systems, known as Twin Ion Engine Fighters, or TIE Fighters, have replaced the Y-Wings and ARC-170s of the Clone Wars. If there is peace, some whisper, why do we still need such weapons? Is it not time to put them aside, to turn the money and materiel to other things?
There are other changes, as well, some more worrisome. The noble Wookies of Kaashyyyk have been enslaved by the Empire, as have the peaceful Mon Calamari. For rebellion, it is said, yet why does the Empire engage in actions suitable for Hutts? Everywhere, there are rumors that non-humans are viewed as second-class citizens. In the Imperial military, they often find themselves given the worst assignments, and are barred from entry into the elite Stormtrooper Corps. They report harassment and persecution, yet nothing is done. Women, too, have begun to feel marginalized. Surely the Empire isn’t actively pursuing such policies. It’s just a few bad jogan fruit, right?
The greatest fear, though, comes from what happens to those who speak out against the Empire. Sometimes they are arrested for crimes – murder, treason, sedition. Some meet with unfortunate accidents. And some simply vanish in the middle of the night – gone and never to be seen again. What has happened to them? Surely the Empire – which brought peace to a galaxy torn by war – couldn’t be involved? It must be the work of criminals, musn’t it?
Across the known galaxy, these questions and more are asked, including on Krai Ven Station, where our story begins…
This is a Star Wars Saga Edition campaign, and as such will use the rules for Star Wars Saga Edition. Character Creation guidelines are defined below. Characters will start at level 1. I will be accepting 4-6 players. This mostly going to be a fringe-style campaign, with a possible buildup into rebellion against the Empire if the plot goes that way, so build characters with that in mind. No Dark Side or Imperial sympathizer characters, please. They don’t particularly fit with the theme of the campaign. I will keep recruitment open for one week, unless there are people who have expressed interest and maybe need a day or two to finish their character, or if I’ve only gotten a couple submissions.
Submission requirements: Character and backstory. If you can tell me about their appearance and personality, that would be nice as well.

Stats:
Roll 4d6 here in the thread, and drop the lowest. If your total modifiers are less than 4, or your highest ability score is 13 or lower, you may reroll. Both of these conditions are before racial modifiers.
Species
Barred: Rakata, Kissai, and Massassi. These races are considered extinct at the time of this game, and as such are rather difficult to work in. If you really want to play one of them, message me, and I’ll see if we can work something out.
Modified: Humans will receive a +2 to any one stat of their choice.
Special: I will likely not pick more than one, maybe two Wookies or Mon Calamari, due to the nature of their species’ current situation. Wookies especially, as while one Wookie can make for an occasional comic situation of “Lost in Translation,” a party full of them becomes something of a headache.
Starting credits/equipment: You get the maximum starting credits for your class, but must pay all required licensing fees. Any equipment with the availability of “Military” or above you must pay the black market cost. You may assume that you have passed all of the necessary skill checks.
Destiny and Background: I will not be using the Destiny mechanic, but I will use the Background Mechanic in the Rebellion Era Camapaign Guide. If you aren’t a fan of any of the printed backgrounds, I’ll work with you to come up with one that fits your character better. It’s mainly to serve as a guide for writing your backstory.
Backstory: I don’t need a novel or an essay, but I want to see you put some thought into it, as well as how your character has come to Krai Ven Station. If you are playing a Jedi, you MUST include what your character did during the Clone Wars, how you survived Order 66, and how you’ve stayed away from the Empire for the past five years.
Posting Requirements: I would appreciate being able to post once a day. If for some reason you cannot post for a prolonged period of time, please either message me or post in the Discussion thread to let me know. If I hear nothing from you and you do not post for 7 days straight, I reserve the right to remove you from the game.
I am looking at perhaps starting a little before or after the 1 of Jan.
Interested, though I'm not sure I'll be able to put something together during the holidays... any chance this recruitment gets extended for another week?
I have some ideas, but I want to look over the rules first to get a better idea of the classes/professions in Saga. Not a Jedi, though. Unless nobody else wants to be one, I guess. Maybe. I'll get back to ya. :D
Quen, are you going to be GMing? May I suggest to start a little beyond level 1 (as the first levels are a little... Unbalance... Across different classes), maybe level 4 or so at least? Also, besides the races you blocked above - and considering only things that would make sense for the period - is any Saga material fair game?
Looking at building a 2nd-degree droid (a modified LE Series Repair Droid) that had been wiped and marooned about five years back. Eventually being found by one of his present crew mates.
Quen Pah since Droids don't have a constitution, can I take the five highest rolls?
Thinking about a Rutian Twi'lek Jedi, or rather, a padawan who failed their final test at Almas Academy and was on Ryloth during the Great Purge, and then had to flee Ryloth when the Sith Lords landed to suppress the Free Ryloth movement. In other words, an initially cowardly character. Really not sure what to do with that awful 8 stat, though.
Haven't had much time yet to delve into the books, but here's the basic idea I came up with while at work, behind this character:
Robbidon's Background:
Robbidon's father, Grahlt Jaas, was a talented engineer and pilot working in the Republic shipyards near Insert Planet Here, sometimes on projects of a highly-sensitive nature. Robbidon lived with his mother at a settlement nearby and is father would come home for long visits in between assignments. During these times, Grahlt would spend his time mentoring his son in the fundamentals of his profession, and overall, the family was comfortable and happy.
However, when Robbidon was in his early teens, word came that his father had been branded a traitor to the Republic and had been executed. No further details were explained though Robbidon's mother, Hanali, tried in vain to learn what exactly had happened. What was made immediately clear was that the family had no claim or right to any sort of pension, and within a few months, Robbidon and his mother had lost nearly everything.
To make matters worse, the Robbidon's mother grew ill, and over time, without proper treatment, eventually died.
Robbidon did the best he could to survive, picking up what skills and tool of the trade he could, bouncing around the galaxy with an eye always aimed toward solving the mystery of what exactly had happened with his father.
Along the way, Robbidon encounters/buys/and-or rescues a modified LE Series Repair Droid, and the two develop a good-natured, bantering working relationship...
If you need some SW tokens and maps, let me know Quen, and I can PM some google doc pages to you. I've been playing SW Saga with RL friends for years now, and I've accumulated a lil' bit of SW stuff ;D
