Game Master Granta

Sovereign Court

Before actually role-playing in Gameplay, role a d6 here in Discussion. This will determine your PC's goal during the RP. Success at the goal is not part of the selection process, this is just a creative prompt to get the ball rolling.

1. Get somebody to buy you a drink
2. Get somebody to go on a date with you
3. Play a drinking game
4. Play a gambling game
5. Start a fight without throwing the first punch
6. Stop an argument before somebody throws the first punch

1d6 ⇒ 1

Considering I dotted with a 7 Charisma character, that will certainly make for interesting RP.

Well that's an odd objective for a barbarian. lol

Hi Everyone! My name is Toni, and I'm an NPC. If I can be of service to anyone, just holler!

Sovereign Court

M Human Fighter 1

With a bit of a snobbish harumph Byron glances about, a drink in one hand, an empty glass next to a well used deck of cards to his left on the bar. "Toni, I will take another. Though as an NPC I suppose I will have to wait longer in this," glancing around the sarcasm dripping from his final word, "establishment..."

Sovereign Court

"Oh dear, the NPCs are already showing up. I was promised more time to prepare..." A sheen of sweat was already starting to form on Penelope's brow as she made her way to the bar's countertop, wasting no time and picking a spot beside the human man. "Is this seat-" she clears her throat, "Is this seat taken?"

Her face immediately flushes as she realizes she just yelled at the man.

I'm assuming we're beginning our first round when the announcement comes from GM Granta, but I couldn't resist playing along.

Just waiting on the third player to choose his NPC alias, then I'll open the flood gates.

"Happy hour just ended, hope your pouches are full of gold, heh-heh!"

I'll post as if the last discussion post here was in Gameplay, if that's alright.

Not sure what you mean, but your Gameplay post is fine. Nothing wrong there.

    Sovereign Court

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Please do not post more than twice in a day, and just once is preferred. Not everyone can post that often, and it is easy to feel lost or overwhelmed when some people out pace others.

    Grand Lodge

    He/Him Human

Definitely feeling ill-suited to the group, while there are plenty of other options. Please go ahead and mark me inactive.

Apparently I wasn't clear enough the first time, so going to be very blunt. If you post in Gameplay more than twice in a single day, you will immediately be rejected and removed from the campaign--as two players just were.

Role-playing is a team sport. When one person hogs the ball, nobody else has fun.

With all due respect, I did not know you had rules set in the discussion board.

I could have worded that much better. What I meant to say was, “I’m going to continue from my in-character post here on the discussion tab, if that’s alright.” Referring to this:

Minus the fourth wall break of course.

On an unrelated note, I appreciate the limitation on posts. My work is reopening tomorrow (Abadar be praised) and I see how quickly Gameplay can move even in just 9 hours, considering both the number of applicants and how highly desired a seat is. Silly as it may sound, I would be stressed at work wondering if I’m being left behind.

Telling a GM that you didn't think his posts were important enough to read is not giving due respect.

    That figures.

I'm a screw up in many cases, and I screwed up here. I didn't check the discussion board and did not know about the posting limit, which lead to my disqualification. For that I apologize. But I was not informed of this until I was already disqualified. I wish we could have come to an understanding, but I'm afraid I burned any future bridges with him. I hope all of you enjoy the campaign and have fun.

You really don't get it. Not only did you just turn a private conversation public without permission, you disrespected my choice to end said conversation when you circumvented the website's block feature.

You were informed of the recruitment guidelines, you just made a choice to ignore the notifications which told you that there were unread posts. And now I am informing you a second time: I do not wish to speak with you anymore. Do not post in this campaign again.

And by the way, the only people who will actually read your post are those who did the very thing you're claiming you didn't have to do: read this thread. The choir is in your head, and you are preaching to atheists.

LOL! Every time I talk to someone they disappear! (I'm starting to feel like Beverly Crushed in that one ST:TNG episode. ;)

Hey, since I've been setting up a Plot Arc with Dr Staud since Saturday, and as we only have three days of this round left, can he hang around so I can finish what I started?

It's going well and I should be able to close it by Thursday.

If several other PC's also want him to stick around, yes. However, one person's request isn't enough to undo a decision made for the greater good.

Male LG Human (Nirmathi) Monk 6

It's been nice roleplaying in here for a bit, but I've decided to bow out from the recruitment. Best of luck to the rest of you.

I’m going to be out of pocket for a couple of days. Helping my dad and cousins pack up my aunt (dad’s oldest sister) so she can move in with one of her boys. All 6 hours drive form where I live, so I’m limited to mobile until probably Saturday. I’ll try to get in a post or two anyway, but posting will be somewhat limited.

You're fine. Round 1 ends in less than 24 hours, and round 2 won't start until Monday.

Uh oh! My conversation buddy! I'll have to monologue now. :)

Everyone: Thank you for your interest and participation. I apologize for the speed bumps along the way; this was my first time recruiting like this, and there were definitely some errors in the trial.

Tycoon, PatheticWretch, SodiumTelluride, and Ouachitonian: please report to round 2 with a new PC.
