About Cnut Bjornsson

Background:

Cnut was born in a small fishing village in the Land of the Linnorm Kings. His parents were of no particular renown. He grew up by the sea, learning the ropes practically before he could walk. He spent most of his free time either on ships, or listening to his uncles (and one aunt) tell their tales of raiding the high seas from the Ironbound Isles all the way to Taldor. Before he had hit puberty, he had decided that his father's quiet fisherman's life was not for him, that he wanted to be a warrior. To be a great sea reaver, like his mother's father, the famous reaver Skarphedinn Bloody-Axe, who sailed his longship all the way to the hot islands in the south and won a name as a famous captain among the pirates.
Once Cnut was old enough, he joined a boat of vikings, and has spent the years since raiding. He has changed ships several times over the years, reaving from the Ironbound Islands to the shores of Absalom. While his name is not yet a legend, his saga not yet written, he knows it will be one day, for he is Cnut Bjornsson, heir to the legacy of Skarphedinn Bloody-Axe.

Appearance & Personality:

Cnut is a large, burly man of Ulfen heritage, covered in reddish-brown hair, to include a massive beard. In his bestial form he is terrifying, a giant with red-brown fur and the paws and head of a great bear. He wears scaled armor, and carries on his person numerous axes, though his favorite is his long-handled bardiche, which he inherited from his grandfather. It still bears bloodstains on its shaft from men Skarphedinn split with it. But he also likes to tear into enemies with tooth and claw.

Cnut is a gruff northerner, but also a devout Gorumite. He respects strength and courage more than anything else. He is fierce in battle, but not a fool. Those who expect him to be a mindless berserker outside of combat will be sorely mistaken.
