For those new to the Paizo forums, you'll want to set up an alias. Any Pathfinder Society aliases you have created already would technically work, but you'll likely want to create a non-PFS alias for the gameplay thread here. You can do that under My Account -> Account Settings.

It isn't important in the discussion thread here, but standard practice for the gameplay thread is to use text formatting. You should see a 'How to format your text' spoiler at the bottom of the page. Typically, people will use bold for spoken words, italics for any internal conversations (somewhat rare) and out of character tags for any commentary you might want to give that wouldn't be appropriate for a story-like description. We probably won't use dice a ton since we're playing sessions in person, but you can roll dice here as well with the dice tags.

I don't see it listed but maybe you already had it swapped. I picked up a composite longbow w/+2 Str rating. And 20 arrows. I was also awarded with a gut stone and a mystical trinket that gives me a +1 to saves against compulsion.

And yeah, I'm not making an effort to track things you guys got for your Festival rewards. You'll have to make those notes on your own.


Here's what you're gathering provision points for

food:

One Provision Point sustains a person for 1 day and consists
of a half-gallon of fluid (clean water, or ale, broth, cider,
goat’s milk, or sheep’s milk) and 3 to 5 pounds of stable
food (apples, berries, bread, dried boar, dried venison,
hard cheese, mushrooms, nuts, pickled vegetables, and
smoked trout). The PCs’ followers carry their resources
in a hodgepodge of bottles, jars, and satchels stuffed into
improvised backpacks. Each Provision Point of resources
weighs about 10 pounds. Together one trail ration and a
waterskin also translate to 1 Provision Point, but weigh
only 5 pounds.
Consuming only half a Provision Point per day
sustains a character, but leaves that person distracted and
irritable. A character who eats only a half portion takes
a –2 penalty on attack rolls, damage rolls, ability checks,
skill checks, and saving throws until she consumes a
full portion. If a person eats half provisions more than 3
days a week, she doesn’t have enough body fat to endure
starvation for long, and must begin making Constitution
checks each day to avoid taking nonlethal damage.
If a person eats no provisions in a day, she takes the
–2 penalty on all attack rolls, damage rolls, ability checks,
skill checks, and saving throws listed above. Typically, a
character can go without water for 1 day, or food for 3
days before making Constitution checks to avoid taking
nonlethal damage. Remember that a character who takes
any nonlethal damage from starvation or thirst also
becomes fatigued, imposing additional penalties.

Aegis of Recovery is a really nice item. I think either Takkar or Tahlas should have it... Just in case


I'm fine taking a potion of guidance.
As for waterskins, I do have one, however I do have a bit of extra weight so if needed I can carry for someone. This is kind of an important item after all.
If nobody else wants a climber's kit I'll take it. Can't find it in the books anywhere and I'm getting different weights from sources online so any info here would be great.
I'd be open to taking more if nobody else wants any, but want to allow others the opportunity as well.

Also as a note I think we gave Darby the steel shield. I'm not super familiar with the game still but am operating under the assumption that my greataxe is better than a mwk battleaxe, however if I'm wrong please let me know! I have no clue if having a few different weapons would benefit me either, so don't really plan on picking any up at this time, but again I could be wrong.

Great Axe deals 1d12 damage but only used your bab and Str modifier to determine att the masterwork battle axe does 1d8 damage and you get a plus 1 on your attacks rolls for it being masterwork.

IMO, I'd use the masterwork battleaxe over a normal greataxe. The d12 die size going down to a d8 is harsh, but +1 to hit is awesome. In a few levels you'll have plenty of attack to throw away some, but L1s have problems hitting no matter how good you are.

I checked, and Tayse isn't carrying a waterskin. If you could snag one for her, Takkar, that'd be great. Remember that we pushed a masterwork backpack at you, which should give you 1 additional strength for carrying capacity purposes.

I'm kind of assuming that the stuff we don't personally select is being taken by some NPCs, or something. It seems hand-waved.

For the record, Tayse is taking a waterskin to be carried by Takkar, absent further objections.

I did not put it masterwork on my sheet. I am pretty sure it was just a composite longbow with a str rating of 2. Takkar picked up a bow later on with same stats. Mine was just the one that nearly killed me. I'll claim a 2nd alchemist's fire. Takkar wanted one and Arras was going to take 2 alchemist's fire unless Tayse or Darby wanted one.

So I returned my Javelin to the community pool in order to take 20 arrows and the longbow as Tahlas said.

A bloodblock would be good for probably everyone to carry one, right? I figure I should grab one.
I'll take an antiplague
For RP reasons I may want to grab a scent cloak (I am a hunter) but when it comes to practicality I'm not sure how useful it is - would a 2 pound bag be worth anything at all?
Same goes with defoliants. I'm not sure how useful those will be but I'd be happy to take one if we feel they'd be helpful.
My dex isn't terrible and those potions of tumbling seem like they could be useful. Not sure who would benefit most from those.
Silk rope is nice. I'm lugging around a hemp one. If nobody wants the rope I'll take it.

I am bumping my weight limit. If I can drop the tent onto a camp or villager or something like that it would be great; I'm also looking at what I am carrying that I don't particularly need.

Tayse is not taking the Bracers of Armor +1. They don't do anything with Mage Armor up and weigh something.

We need to split up a lot of stuff we got this time:
* I think Arras should take the +1 Buckler. Archers can use bucklers without too many problems.
* I think Darby should take the Wand of Hold Person for rounds that he can use for offense instead of defense.
* Tayse is interested (mostly for Ghorsi) in: Potions of Bull's Strength, Potions of Shield of Faith and one of the Dust of Appearance doses.

We should also sort out what to do with that promotion. Can we get a list of our options Tom?

Gear of the firewarden

Spoiler:
it's a +1 "Greatsword" that can be wielded one handed dropping the damage down to 1d8. All feats and abilities that work for a chosen weapon work with this weapon. When the flamewarden's fire ability is active, a successful hit lets you intimidate the target as a swift action. If the attack was a crit or a kill you can make a swift action intimidate like dazzling display. Also this +1 mithral breastplate gets fire shield when the flamewarden's fire ability is active.

gloves of soul stitching

Spoiler:
these gloves allows healing spells and abilities to work on dead creatures as per breath of life. You can extend the rounds of this ability by accepting negative levels equal to the rounds extended. Also before such ability the wearer can accept damage that will be taken after the effect that will heal up the other targets by that amount.

Wearing this belt grants you 1 animal related spell per spell level as a bloodline spell.

Okay, my character over all feels that attack was a failure and if anything set their camp on high alert. I do not think we should head straight back to camp in case we are tracked. We need to heal for sure and discuss a plan.

Out of character, I'm kind of wanting to hit them again, provided that Chris has enough healing resources to put us back together before we rest. They might be more on guard, but they took actual casualties and we didn't, so there's that. We know a lot more about what we are up against, which should help. We could start the encounter more fully buffed now that we've seen the degree to which they can target the back ranks, for instance

If that darkness trick came back we'd have to flee though, and that would be frustrating.

I definitely want to hit them again. We will need to rest somewhere. I might be able to hold the top of the stairs creating a choke point. That would allow Arras to clear the watch tower. Perhaps we can buy an oil of day light to counter act an oil of darkness. Not sure of cost, or even if they have another oil. I know we have a price limit. Maybe Tayse can vine whip trip enemies right in front of me barring she isn't becoming a pin cushion, also Ghorsi could be right next to me pulling off full attacks. Chris healing and if retreat needed entangle...

The price limit we were quoted earlier would put an Oil of Daylight out of reach, but not a Scroll of Daylight. The issue is whether we go back to the camp first, which would take some time especially since we were talking about not going back directly. I'm still in favor of hitting them again quickly, depending on how well we can get back into fighting condition.

I think we have a pretty good retreat plan, especially since we can do so earlier if we see Darkness go up. A second failure wouldn't necessarily put us at as much risk as the first run. (The bad guys might learn as well of course)

I was damaged the least I think due to Darby's buffs on me. I'm all for doing a circle around the camp and hitting them from the other side of the watch tower. Does anyone have oil? We could set the Watchtower Ablaze?
