I had asked earlier to have the Chronicles released, but that was during PaizoCon.
I have no desire to try with a third GM or pick back up with either previous GM at this point. We've made it into the final chapter, so we should get a full Chronicle as if we had TPK'ed during our current fight. I'll ask again, but other people asking wouldn't hurt.

I'm in favor of finding another GM.
One thing I did notice is that the new VC of the Find the Path Discord is a "Deneve Callois" - our first GM's alias. Do we want to see if they are the same person, and if they are, if they are free? Pros: they know the team and the story. Cons: I don't know if it'd be awkward since we never found out why they left.
---
Edit: Cross-posted with Gamble, so I'll explain.
I'm fine with getting the Chronicles, so if that's the way players vote, I wouldn't complain. The game has gone on a lot longer than I thought it would, so there are some things, such as the intention to turn Simon into a PFS character, that won't happen. I had never played a rogue before (one of my motivations for creating him), but since we've started, that's changed, and Simon's big project (converting and building a church) has been completed.
That being said, I'd still like to see the story through, even if it's abbreviated (or we want to skip the majority of the combats, or if we want to proceed without Gamble). I've been pretty careful about spoilers, so it'd be nice story-wise to find the BBE and administer some comeuppance. I assume there's also a plot twist at the end (Vilree's not V? I forget how certain we were about that).

I'd noticed that as well.
Given that this has dragged on for over a year (first post in Recruitment was February 29th, 2020), I'm thinking it's going to be hard to get back into this game, especially since we're in the middle of a fight.

Yes, I'm fine with getting the chronicles and not finishing this out. It's been a lot of fun playing with you guys, up until the point where everything stalled out.

Doctor Mono's tagline includes his full name and the fact that he's a Venture Lieutenant of the Cincinnati, Ohio region. Are any of you involved with Org Play to a degree where that could be used to contact him off the boards?
I'll send a PM, sometimes those are linked to E-mail addresses.
Edit: Also I filled out a contact request on Saturday Morning Games with a declaration of war so he knows we mean business.

I relayed our predicament to Numbat, also. They said they'd look into it, but life appears to be entangling everyone lately.
So, I'm unfamiliar with the process. How big is the ask we're making? Are we looking for an E-mail saying it's okay? Is it a 30 min task? 4 hour task? Are we asking for this to be put on an agenda and brought up at a committee meeting and Robert's Rules must be applied to ensure complete debate task?
Is there anything we can do to help the process along?
GM redeux |
Hi all, Numbat did relay this to the online VO's and I've offered to assist. Whether that is calling things here, I can handle the chronicles and reporting, or if the group wants to continue (even in abbreviated form) then I'll follow-up with Tyranius to see if we can find a replacement GM.
Right now you are at the very beginning of chapter 3, so roughly 2/3 through the adventure. The way I see it this can go three ways (let me know if there are other ideas):
The gist of what needs to happen is getting a consensus from the group. For example, I don't want to end things here if most of you want to continue. From the sounds of it this is what I'm seeing so far
If someone doesn't want to continue but the rest of the group does then I'll be happy to handle the chronicle/reporting for them so that we don't have anyone feeling forced to go on when otherwise feeling disinterested. I've dotted into the campaign and will keep tabs on this discussion to see what the group decides, and can answer any questions that pop up.
At one time there was a VO list on the Paizo site, but I can't find it now.
This was removed from the site for several reasons but one of which was to streamline the new-player process so there is a more consistent point of entry within each region (via going through RVCs who are the only ones with contact info on the site now).

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been around. MY laptop died a while back and it was a long while before I got back online and working. This campaign completely fell off my radar.
Ultimately, I'm OK with Chronicles. I loved this campaign, but I wouldn't want to start over with a new GM at this point. A lot of the personaliy of this campaign is tied to the interactions we've had since the beginning. A 3rd GM would have a hard time really pulling that back in, and while I would love Deneve to return, we don't know why they left.. sooo...yeah. Chronicles.
Simon Samarian |
I think there is a consensus that Chronicles now are okay.
Is there any sort of consensus on continuing (presumably after Chronicles so people who want out can leave), even in narrative form (e.g., not rolling for anything, and just walking through the important parts of the last book)?
If not, that's okay with me too. I can always listen to a podcast (I think RfC did FoP) to find out what happens.

I will need additional guidance on applying this credit to locked characters.
Can I apply this credit to a character in another game right now, taking effect after that game finishes (similar to GM credit)? Can I defer the application of this credit until after another game after the current one finishes? (Redeux, the intended assignee would be Quinoline Silicate, locked in part 1 of your #2-20/#2-22/#2-24 trilogy.)

I'll take that as a consensus for chronicles/reporting. I'm sorry things didn't turn out differently. if the group wants, I can work to get a summary posted in gameplay to cover what would've happened. Or if there's another preference I can try to accommodate.
You're getting 12 faction rep, 12xp, 30 treasure bundles, and 24 days of downtime in 8 day blocks every 4 xp. Note that this is full rewards and not 2/3 rewards - under the logic that if you were TPK'ed at this moment, yes, most GM's would be giving full credit and I see no reason to penalize the group for having had 2 GM's abandon.
Can everyone provide the following info for chronicles?
Character Name:
OPF # & Char #:
Faction:
Character Level and current XP:
Downtime (block 1 - 8 days - Trained/Expert/Master):
Downtime (block 2 - 8 days - Trained/Expert/Master):
Downtime (block 3 - 8 days - Trained/Expert/Master):
Few downtime notes:

You can assign it to a character "locked" in a pbp game right now, though chronicle is not applied until after the current scenario (2-20). Meaning for Quinoline she'd get the credit from 2-20, and then get 12xp from Plaguestone before starting 2-22. Unfortunately even though we're doing the trilogy back-to-back we can't continue holding the chronicle until the end of 2-24. You can do slow-advancement for plaguestone though so if you were wanting a specific boon/item then you'd still get those but only half awards (half xp/gp earned/etc)
Simon Samarian |
I'm afraid you've assumed me far more competent at planning than I am. The main motivation for not skipping levels is that I frequently immediately regret my feat choices and spend downtime reversing the decision. Quinoline would end up leapfrogging over Level 9 entirely so I just have to estimate the likelihood of me regretting whatever I had planned.
Is there any way to see the Chronicle before deciding or knowing what the items are? Part of the motivation was an assumption that there were some cool alchemy things on the Chronicle.
GM redeux |
Sure, here is the sanctioning which has the chronicle. Note that the keepsakes you'll only get to keep one of those and then have to cross any others off. For alchemy most people are fond of the Alchemist's crossbow but there's also two formulas (stone body mutagen and lesser energy mutagen).
Simon Samarian |
Ha, I forgot that the Chronicle for a Level 1-3 adventure wouldn't have anything that's particularly interesting to a level 9 character.
I'll need some time to think about who's going to get this credit. It's not obvious right now.

I would appreciate a wrap-up post as well.
Have any of you listened to Roll for Combat's run of Fall of Plaguestone? Is it good? I know they're a popular podcast, but I've only listened to Agents of Edgewatch (because I have the intention of playing all the others).
Any other Fall of Plaguestone runs worth considering?
GM redeux |
@Elendyr - Looks good!
@Simon - I haven't listened to RfC's (or anyone's) plaguestone run but I enjoyed listening to the first book of EC. Regrettably listening to more of these podcasts by RfC et al is something I've been meaning to do.
@All - Full summary is posted. I tried to give it as much justice as I could without intimate knowledge of your characters. The summary post is divided into sections since it is VERY long and covers just about everything from the chapter depending on how little/much you are wanting to know about. once I get everyone's chronicles/reporting handled I'll work on getting this campaign deactivated. In the meantime if you need anything from me, send me a message here or via private message.
@Simon, @Gamble, @Elendyr - Reporting is done and chronicles can be found HERE
@Deerslicer, @Leoric - Please see my above post for getting credit. once I get the required info I'll generate your chronicles and add you to reporting.

Thank you so much, GM redeux (and Numbat and Tyranus). I really appreciate the time you had to spend doing this for us.
without intimate knowledge of your characters
...after this many and this long of gaps, I don't have intimate knowledge of my own character. :(
Simon Samarian |
Thank you to redeux/numbat/Tyranius, as well as to our GMs (Deneve / Ilmakis), if they are still reading this. Even though things didn't work out, it was a great game while it lasted.

@Deerslicer No problem at all! Please like favorite this post or leave a reply when you download your chronicle from here. Reporting has been updated to include deerslicer
@All - I'll be requesting this campaign be marked as inactive once the last chronicle is downloaded (may take a while to mark it inactive, or may be quick). After that if you have any questions or need anything from me please send me a PM here on paizo or on discord (redeux#9667)
Cheers!
