We do have the 50 gp of alchemical supplies, too, so if we were willing to take some time, we could stock up on some elixirs of life.

Does Kunsheng need the formulas in his list in order to make them at cost?
I've never used them, but the Drakeheart Mutagen from the APG looks very useful for those not in heavy armor (and with a Dex of 14+).
I'd also recommend a Comprehension Elixir or two.
Otherwise, we can just make a bunch of bombs.

I think there's no doubt about that.
If there's no other suggestions, Simon will take a +1 rune for his rapier and make a bunch of bombs with the alchemical reagents - 50 gp worth gives us 5 level 3 bombs. I'll suggest two bottled lightning (for flat-footed), and three blight bombs (for pure damage).
We can buy a bunch of lesser healing potions with the remainder. Simon will use spare change to buy a bunch of caltrops (we seem to be in tight quarters often, this should help us control the flow of battle).

Leo will have a problem if you guys just rest and leave at first light. His agreement with Simon was to help him with Sor Lawren, then go. Despite Kunsheng, Leo considers the town undefended until his sire is helped enough to be of use or he has to stay back to protect it himself. It helps that you’re not under a time constraint.

Is anyone proficient in bombs?
If not:
We can spend 60 gp + 5 gp of Tamli's life savings to buy 2 +1 potency runes.
The 50 gp worth of alchemy supplies can be used for Elixirs of Life.

Crafting takes 4+ days, right? I know we aren't on a tight timeline, but if we're going to take that long, do the non-crafters want to get a cart to go and collect that alchemical equipment?

I will write on the boarded-up door, in chalk:
Blud Oooz
Keep Out!

I would say just the 4 days you need to craft a batch. With the crafting supplies we have, I don't think we have to worry about being economical about it, going into the last chapter of the adventures.

Crafting should take much longer than 4 days. Crafting has a lead time of 4 days, after which a check is made. F/CF necessitates repeating those 4 days; S/CS adds a gp/day value to to the task until the task is completed (or the remainder of the value is purchased with gold).
Example:
Trained Crafting of 3 Quicksilver Mutagens (12 gp each) = 36 gp value
1. Buy raw materials for half of the value = 18 gp of raw materials (Day 0, completed 18/36).
2. Work for 4 days (Day 4, completed 18/36).
3. Make a Crafting check (Level 3 = DC 18).
CF = lose 10% of raw materials (1.8 gp), start over.
F = start over
S = 0.5 gp/day => 18/0.5 = 36 days of Crafting required (excluding dead time)
CS = 0.7 gp/day => 18/0.7 = 26 days of Crafting required (excluding dead time)
Crafting: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Success, so 4 days dead time + 36 days Crafting = 40 days total
Total Cost: 18 gp currency, plus 40 days Downtime.
---
Let's try again, because Simon doesn't usually roll that well. :\
Crafting: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Failure (1), so start over.
Crafting: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Failure (2), so start over.
Crafting: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Failure (3), so start over.
Crafting: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Failure (4), so start over.
Crafting: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Critical Failure (5), so -1.8 gp and start over.
Crafting: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23
Success, so 36 days Crafting + 20 days dead time = 56 days total
Total Cost: 19.8 gp currency, plus 56 days Downtime

Yes, but if you aren't looking to reduce the cost, you just make the roll, spend the 4 days, and pay the full cost, right?

I updated Gamble's Loot sheet to indicate that we had only 38 gp worth of alchemical reagents left.

Hope the GM is feeling better.

Agreed.

Assuming he is on board, we should have a quick chat about how to do this.
1. Do we want to interview prospective GMs and choose one; take the first one willing?
2. Do we want to agree in advance what to do if Deneve comes back?
3. Do we want every decision to be unanimous or is some dissent okay?
| Elendyr |
1. I advise bringing it up to Tyranius or one of the other online VCs and letting them follow their usual protocol (which, IIRC, is generally first willing).
2. If GM D returns in time, I'd definitely prefer to stick with him, so we can make that a condition for the replacement--that should be easy enough to go with, and I've seen it happen that way before.
3. My preference would be for unanimity, with the proviso that AFAICT we're all reasonable people. If, e.g., the first GM to pop up is a complete novice, or is someone that one of us has had a problem with in the past, then let's agree to communicate about it (via PM, if we want anonymity) before making the call.
How does that sound to everyone?
| Gamble Eigirsson |
It's generally first willing with the players having right of refusal/declining. That doesn't happen often as beggars can't be choosers. But there is one GM that I'd refuse.
Deerslicer

Agreed (including the part about there being one GM that I'd refuse)
Simon Samarian

That sounds good to me.
There are definitely GMs I would not prefer, but I think "beggars can't be choosers" sums it up.
I can also try to set up a Discord chat if people are into that. I actually prefer the boards/PM (I can't Discord from my phone) but 2021 yada yada yada.
