GM Deneve |
I could take you all back home to rest, but it's not clear to me yet if you wish to speak to Tamli today or tomorrow, plus your plans for these seven days of downtime.
I know that:
Gamble is retraining
Deerslicer is shopping/crafting arrows
The rest? Will you be fixing up the home+earning income, fixing up the church, crafting potions/gear, etc? You have several options available to you.
Deerslicer |
I will buy arrows and spend the rest of the time repairing the house.
Sinan al-Razima |
I imagine Sinan will split his time working on the church and working on the home. A good part of it would involve him helping Simon find his place- especially if Sarenrae decides to voice her thoughts again.
No idea what he will want to do tonight yet. :)
Simon Samarian |
Simon's got a big night tonight, so I just wanted to be clear on where we're going to be. I advocate we speak to Tamli the next day, unless there's time pressure.
He'll spend most of the downtime fixing the house and/or church.
GM Deneve |
All right then. Deerslicer will need to spend 1 sp per 10 arrows.
The clean up of the house is done. Now which walls will you fix and will you build a workshop or infirmary? Please check the map in my profile as we're now in the Fall of Plaguestone Part 2 slides. :P
Helping out at the church will take about 15 days. So you could spend this week fixing it and then carrying on. Let me know so I can set you all to bed and you can either have some chat around the church and repairs of the house or I can time skip you. Your choice.
Also, I'm aware that because of PaizoCon, we might all be posting slowish?
GM Deneve |
Love that short vignette between Deerslicer and Valor, even if they had no real interaction.
I will forever remember this as the day that Gamble took a broken-hearted woman's savings.
So guys, I'm noticing that whenever we do downtime things slow down drastically. Now this could be because of PaizoCon, but would you guys prefer to skip downtime and just move things along without it. I originally planned it so you would have time to craft and such, but if it's not your thing, we'll just skip sections like these. It's not mandatory and it certainly isn't something that is going to bother me.
I rather make sure we all enjoy posting and playing.
Simon Samarian |
It may be helpful to recap what some of the options are.
I haven't had the time to go back to find the post where the days to complete everything was listed; it's kind of a daunting task because there are a lot of posts. Simon would also be interested in fixing the church but I'm not sure if anything was listed there.
There was also some discussion about what we would need to complete before it were livable and if one part depended on another, which I wasn't even sure where we could stay.
I'm actually pretty fond of Downtime stuff (there's a castle building part in PFS #1-18 which I love) but it's just logistically hard, which means I need a big block of time because it's not something I can do easily.
Gamble Eigirsson |
I don’t have a lot to write about retraining a feat. Nor does there currently exist a compelling dynamic between Gamble and any other character to use the downtime for my own narrative.
So, at this moment, what would be useful is a more OOC downtime phase. I agree with Valor on a recap of house/temple activities: I’m not sure where my last 2 days of downtime would be best spent as 1) finding the rules for the house is a bit cumbersome (especially to do on my phone, so my opportunities to look are scant and I [or someone] needs to comb through and inventory our loot]) and 2) what is already done by others would affect where to spend his time.
Sinan al-Razima |
Hey all, I just want to apologize that I haven't been around the last few days. Between work and PaizoConline, I haven't had more than a second to breathe.
Simon Samarian |
I have been back and forth over the Gameplay thread to find where we had all the downtime tasks f9r the house. The post was in Discussion (April 8), and I'm copying and pasting it here for reference.

Home Sweet Home
Congratulations! You are all the owners of some fine real estate. Shame it's a dump right now, so let's see how you can spruce it up.
Cleaning up
Right now the estate is uninhabitable. You need to clean it up if you want to sleep there. You can spend two days cleaning up, which is basically removing detritus, sweeping, moping and dusting. This will take you 8 hours of work each day. if only two of you are working this might take three days. If the whole gang pitches in, you should have it done in a day, but will be fatigued and need to sleep.
Cleaning the well
This provides you with fresh water, but only one person can clean the well as it's slimy and with trash. This will take you about half a day's time or around 4 hours.
Repairing the walls
The house is full of broken down walls. You won't be getting a good night's sleep until you fix them. Nor will you be able to use other parts of the house such as the kitchen and stables until you have those walls repaired.
Two people can work in each red area. Repairing each area will require a DC 15 Crafting check and 8 hours. You should finish repairing an area after two successes (two days). You will need to spend 8 hours doing this and it will take you two days to fix each area and you'll need to roll a DC 15 Crafting check each day. You will need to spend at least 1 GP a day for each area you work on. This represents materials bought and used.
Deerslicer |
The well did get fully cleaned already, right?
Deerslicer's downtime:
Day 1 - Buy some arrows, then go Foraging for food ... Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 ... with the Forager feat, that is a success that gets me food enough for 5 creatures ... so I can feed 3 beyond Gracie and myself.
Return to spend day cleaning house (8 hours).
Day 2 - More hunting Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 ... again, can feed 3 of you.
Assuming everyone didn't clean on Day 1, I will continue cleaning.
Day 3 - More hunting Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11 ... Food for 3 of you.
If people chipped in on the cleaning, we're likely done by now ... so I would focus on repairing the kitchen. Crafting: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Day 4 - More hunting Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13 ... Food for 3 of you.
More repair in the kitchen ... Crafting: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13 ...
Day 5 - More hunting Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 ... Food for 3 of you.
And repair in the kitchen ... Crafting: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 ... Kitchen is repaired! (costs 3 gp for 3 days of work)
Day 6 - More hunting Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 ... Food for 3 of you.
And repair the stables (if no one else has taken care of them before now) ... Crafting: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16
Day 7 - More hunting Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10 ... Food for 3 of you.
And the stable repairs ... Crafting: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Okay, so I repaired the Kitchen and got 1 success toward repairing the Stables. A total of 5 gp spent on repairs, I think. I don't remember how much we got from the lockbox, but I think the repair costs should come out of that before it gets split up. If we cleaned everything in one day, I would get one more Crafting check to fix the stables and Crafting: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 ... still not succeed. (These dice rolls don't seem random.)
So you guys will need to work out amongst yourselves who doesn't want any of my wonderful leftovers each day. ;)
During breaks, you will see him in the courtyard, sparring with Gracie (or his own shadow) wielding his new kukri in one hand and dogslicer in the other. He passes out, exhausted, at the end of the day.
Deerslicer |
That shadow armor rune can't be used until someone has a +1 rune on their armor, right? I haven't done much with runes yet, aside the fundamental weapon runes, so am not familiar with the rules on them all that much.
Deerslicer |
Just realized I don't own a repair kit ... can we assume that we have enough supplies to do the work by sharing tools? If not, I can buy a repair kit prior to the repair of the walls. We do appear to have an extra hammer from the loot. :)
Gamble Eigirsson |
You don’t need a Fundamental Rune before affixing a Property Rune. You’re thinking PF1.
If Repair Kits are a limiting factor, Gamble isn’t using his for the first 5 days.
GM Deneve |
Hm... Looks like there's quite a bit to catch up. Yikes! Yes, I'm still alive, just overworked.
You can all share tools without a problem. It was two days if only two of you worked on it. If you're all working on it, you should be done in about a day.
You all now have Tamli's and the others help, so you could build the infirmary (just a cot, but with all the alchemical reagents you found, you could in theory have Kunsheng stock up on potions if he has the formulas)
Simon begins helping out at the church, I imagine with Sinan giving him instruction. Will post a progress report and then move the story forward if you're all ready.
Doctor Mono Contributor |
Sinan al-Razima |
Sinan will install the everburning torches in the house and spend a couple days cleaning up. The other 5 days he will spend helping rebuild the church.
For the most part he is letting Simon take the lead in restoring the church- he wants to help the other man find his footing- especially if he feels he has some control over it. For his part, Sinan has helped to construct, sanctify, and restore churches to the dawnflower before, and he often uses subtlety to help guide Simon in his work.
GM Deneve |
Weeping Wounds A bloodlash bush’s vines cause terrible lacerations that continue to bleed. A creature hit with a vine attack takes 1 persistent bleed damage (2 on a critical hit). Unlike other forms of persistent damage, this damage is cumulative, to a maximum of 5 persistent bleed damage but it can be stopped like any other persistent bleed damage.
GM Deneve |
@Kunsheng Unless I missed something you should be still bleeding. It was only the bleeding effect from the bloodseekers which could be staunched with any kind of healing. Regular bleeding still needs first aid.
Either way, as combat is over I will just allow you to stop bleeding as you can all get treatment from it as long as Sinan doesn't elbow you to the face.
GM Deneve |
Unfortunately, no.
Most common items (level 1) can be found in the general store, but unless they’re items that might be useful to a farming community, the store has only one or two in stock. The only magic items they have on hand are three minor healing potions and a potency crystal. No alchemical items are in stock.
