Glad to hear you didn't need a ventilator! keep pushing fluids: water, chicken noodle soup, lots of veggies. The good old grandmother principles work against any disease, old and new.
Start popping some of these on a daily basis as well.
For some reason, those have also had a positive effect on me whenever I felt a sore throat or other cough/lung crud coming over me.
I had a major pneumonia/bronchitis combo many years back and it affected my lung capacity / cardio capability for years. The good news is, over time, all the cells in your body will die and regenerate new cells, regardless of the type of cells (nervous system, pulmonary system, muscles, bones, etc.) Some cells take longer than others, but over time, everything can recover with good nutrition and life habits.
For lung problems, start going on daily walks and get lots of fresh air. Nothing beats that. Lung capacity needs daily work on. If you live in a city, this may mean you need to get away from it for while if its pollution rate is not good, either by driving to a rural location on a daily basis to get your fresh air, or by moving, visiting a relative for a while, etc. Also, take a note of wind patterns. Most pollution on the east coast of U.S. or Canada blows from the west. So if you're in a city, try driving to the rural areas west of it to get your exercise/walking/time off. I've also purchased an air purifier for our home.
Take care my friend! and don't lose hope: fighting spirit and positive mindset is the main factor in how you'll overcome health problems!
PS: these are just friendly suggestions from my own experience; I'm not a healthcare practitioner by any stretch of the imagination, so don't take the above over any real medical advice you have or will receive. Always consult a real doctor for anything you have concerns about, especially what you've gone through! :)
PS2: we'll be here if you ever come back. Take months, years... whatever you need. I'm in no hurry. If the task at hand becomes too much for motivational reasons as opposed to health reason, also feel free to modify the campaign any way you want... go off script, skip boring sections, etc. You're the GM and Master Of Our Universe!! :) :) :)

+1 to what all the others said. COVID has made things tough for many people even without getting the virus itself. Take care of yourself, we'll be here when you get better!

Checking in as it's been a month since my last hello!
Hopefully things are getting better Dak. Drop us an update once in a while (good or bad).
Also, if these games are weighing on your shoulders (I know some of the games I'm running are) then it's fine stepping back and giving the reins to another GM too. Sometimes, even when games are on pause, they exercise some pressure as you have a feeling of unresolved business lingering. I've had to leave some face to face AP games this summer because of that, and I am now focusing on my PbP obligations, trying to fast forward through them. One thing I have to tell myself is that there's no such thing as perfection: it's better to screw a few things up and finishing a project than wait for eventual (and impossible) perfection.
So there. I wanted to put it out there: if you want to liberate yourself from a few game obligations we'll also understand! ;)
Take care!

Sorry for the long silence a lot been going on and after getting pinged on Discord I wanted to drop a note in all my games. I'm actually doing a lot better now, pretty much fully recovered. However, my wife has been really sick, last month she was in the hospital for a week and I'm sitting in the surgery center now waiting to see how things turn out on a few hour procedure she is currently in. Depending on how invasive the surgery is I may be dealing with a lot for at least a month or so taking care of her and the kids and working. On top of that with the holidays coming and the normal delays that revolve around that I am going to say that it's going to be at least January before I look at picking things up again. Maybe if things get better sooner I will try jumping back in before that but I feel like early January is going to be more realistic.
If you need to move on without me I understand feel free to find a replacement if needed and when I check back we can go from there. Sorry for all the absent time, these last few months have just really kicked my butt first physically, then mentally and emotionally. Hope you all are keeping safe and have a good Thanksgiving and Christmas for those who celebrate.

Sorry for all you've been going through. Certainly, take care of real life first.
I have no problems holding on through the end of the year. It's been a crazy one at that. If we do manage to pick back up at the start of the year, I'll still be here.
Thanks for checking in, and I hope things improve for your wife soon!

Adistan Temmer |

I'm also glad to hear you're doing well.
I'll be honest and say I'm not sure I will pick up in January. I've realized I'm at the very limits for myself in my PBPs, and may let some fall aside. That said, I may feel differently in a couple months as we're even more stuck inside, so I don't want to make any decisions yet. I do enjoy playing with all of you and the group of characters we've got here.

Completely understand. Still planning to be here in January. This year has been crazy, and though my area is starting to get back to normal, stuff is still messed up. Hope your situation turns around.

Good luck with everything GM Dak. Barring any health problem of my own or in my family (knock on wood) I will be here when you decide to come back. Thanks for running this game so far!

Amelexis Dusk |

Glad to hear you're doing better, Dak; hoping your wife improves back to full health as well. Like Davor, I should still be around in January unless covid-19 or another health issue gets me.

GM Dak |

Hey everyone. It's January and I'm looking at starting to get back into my games. Things have finally settled a bit in my life so I'm going to slowly start picking things back up over the coming weeks until I am back at full speed.
Want to check in here and see who is still around and if we want to continue on.

Amelexis Dusk |

Still here and still interested in continuing. I may find it hard RPing this little brainiac again, though, as the pandemic and vile political crap going on have pretty much turned my own brain to mush.

Verris "Eagle Eye" Gerdin |

Glad to hear things have settled for you! I'm up for continuing too... I also may need to get back into RPing Verris :)
