We're renting a small sailboat or jolly from the harbormaster; same place Davor's rowboat is parked.

Lexi balls her hands into fists and glowers at Davor. "You're not my father! You don't run my life! Maybe I'll get a pony after all!" ;)
Yeah, plan is to visit the old Fang and speak to that guy about buying or renting a second rowboat.
Amelexis Dusk
Jump ahead to Natalya- no piling. For whatever reason Amelexis you keep saying the exact opposite that Davor says... while this is cute RP-wise this is gonna really stretch this AP if you keep this up. I said "Dungeon" and you said "Natalya" (and the group was thus convinced to do so). To speed things up I say ooc to jump to "Natalya" and you try to steer us back to the piling?! is there something I'm missing?
Well, Lexi will change her mind on a dime, especially if there's new factors to consider.
But yeah--I think you missed some things. Since we were already out in the bay--and since Lexi can't swim--I figured it couldn't hurt to quickly see if there was some sort of docking bay near the piling so I'd know if I have to worry about Lexi swimming or not. I didn't suggest actually exploring the piling; just asked about something GM Dak could answer in a sentence or two when he next posted. I also looked up and posted a link to Verris's Diplomacy check from a month back to save the GM some time. So I was actually trying to speed things along as well.
Gurk the Goblin
Gurk will pick up two silvered daggers for 42 gp.
Verris "Eagle Eye" Gerdin
Just to let you know (and provided that GM Dak is okay with it) you can get durable arrows of a material type for an extra GP over standard arrows of that material. So alchemical silver durable arrows would be 3.05 GP each instead of 2.05 GP and wouldn't be destroyed when used. At least that's what I concluded from what I read about it on the forums. That's what most people who are discussing it seem to agree on. But again, it's up to GM Dak's discretion.
You can also get silver weapon blanch for 5 GP to coat 10 pieces of ammunition and avoid the -1 to damage caused by using alchemical silver.
I plan on getting 20 alchemical silver durable arrows for 61 GP, if Dak is okay with it, seeing as I'm an archer and may need them again in the future. It might be easier for some to just get some weapon blanch instead? Just some options for you all if you're interested.
In the future, I plan on crafting a lot of arrows/bows etc but I don't think I've got the time to craft these before we leave.

Thanks for sharing Verris!
Davor will be getting an alchemical silver light hammer and changing antitoxin to only 1 vial instead of 2. He will also buy 8 doses of silver weapon blanch, and use the first one at Heidmarch Manor to coat his trident before they leave.
(Davor is low on funds now, but a rowboat is 50gp and I think one of you should buy one to supplement Davor's own. We have two Prof. Sailor PC i.e. two rowboat Captains so all is well! LOL :) )
[paranoia...] PS: let us NOT cancel our cheap rental of the BIG boat... such a thing on the books is an excellent alibi for other activities we'll be involved with AND can also perhaps elude someone who's been following us / keeping tabs on us! [/paranoia...]
Adistan Temmer
Good idea, Verris. I'll probably go with two things of silver weapon blanch instead, but maybe get 20 durable arrows just because I hate tracking the damn things.
Also, just an FYI, I'll be at a wedding this weekend. Probably not back until Monday.

Is the map up? the link I have still shows the street fight against the thugs...

Time for the faces and the bluffers to do their job! :)
Raynor rows like there's no tomorrow! :)
Gurk the Goblin
So, it's time for the master diplomat Gurk once more. :D
Davor Riverside

Raynor?
Sorry... flashback and/or ptsd from last adventure... just finished and barely survived #10-17 "On Sevenfinger's Sails" with my trusty nautical paladin, Captain Raynor Cordite (who is now, coincidentally, promoted to Commodore Raynor Cordite, as he is now Captain of two ships, which can technically be called a fleet! :P )
FOR THE HARBORWING!!!
...ahem... sorry.... :P
Gurk the Goblin
Guess it's my turn for camping. Will be outdoors next Tue through Fri, so posting will be iffy and whether I can get a cell signal out there.

Hey all,
What's the deal with the samples of Irespan Rock? did I miss something in Lady Heidmarch's quest debrief?
Amelexis Dusk
I don't think you missed anything; this is mostly just Lexi being Lexi. Since Magnimar's her adopted hometown, Lexi's read up extensively on the city, its history (including that mining Irespan stone is illegal but collecting fallen pieces is not), and its monuments. She figures that with Lady Heidmarch on a Sihedron and other ancient Thassilonian artifacts kick, Sheila might want a sample of the Irespan (assuming she doesn't have one already).

Hey all,
Summer continues to be way too busy with a couple of jam-packed work days before another trip through next weekend.
The bad news is I'll be out pretty much through next Tuesday. The good news is this should be the last break of summer!
Davor Riverside
|
Same as Bixby here... today is the last day I can post until next week.
Amelexis Dusk
For marching order, how about this?
Gurk the Scout
????????????????
????????????????
????????????????
????????????????
Verris ---------- Adistan
---------------------------------
Davor?
---------------------------------
Bixby ---------- Bodyguard
---------------------------------
Lexi ---------- Davor?
The dash lines represent 5 feet of space between ranks to guard against everyone getting caught in area effects. Davor would either be near the front (for easy access to combat, once it breaks out) or the more responsible member of the rearguard opposite Lexi.
Gurk would scout ahead at whatever range he deems safe/wise.
Adistan Temmer
I think it makes more sense to go:
Gurk
Riverside ----- Temmer
Copperpot ----- Bodyguard
Lady Dusk -- Lady Verris
That lets Lady Verris assume the role of archer vs. foes in front of us, while she's still a capable melee combatant and able to protect Lady Dusk should some cowardly blackguard attack us from behind.
Gurk the Goblin
Gurk will probably range about 30 feet ahead of the group.
Verris "Eagle Eye" Gerdin
Verris is happy to guard from the back, particularly if Temmer words it like that ;).
Davor Riverside
|
He's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! :P
Happy to get going with Adistan's order. Davor up front makes sense due to high AC and ability to buff as a swift action as he moves fwd.
Cheers!

Dear GM,
I've been wondering if we could switch to Google slides for this? the Roll20 somehow seems to slow things down and as others mentioned, certain workplaces don't allow employees to sign up there as this could be viewed as playing video games during work hours...
This could just be my perception though, but somehow I get the feeling that it's holding us up a little...
Regards,
PDK
GM Dak
Thoughts on the above everyone? We can switch to Google Slides if people would like though you will have to be patient with me as I convert things over. In either case, I will probably track you on Roll20 still as well so that I can confirm LoS and lighting conditions (the main reason I like Roll20).
Amelexis Dusk

Google docs is OK with me.
Gurk the Goblin
Never used it before, but willing to give it a try and see how it goes.
Bixby Copperpot

I am a fan of both, but love the line of sight from Roll20 if the GM is using that. If they're not using it, I generally prefer Google Docs.
But since you've been using it (and seem likely to maintain it), I'd probably stick with Roll20.
Davor Riverside
|
Google slides: you literally just copy / paste your map on it. It's super fast. No lighting though, but lighting in PbP is a bit of a slowing factor.
Davor Riverside
|
NOTE: I'm happy to stay in Roll20 if the GM has never used Slides.
NOTE2: Google Slides opens up easy on mobile phones, but moving pawns and maps on a phone is a bad idea; so when away on your phone, Slides is just for reference purpose and to see your current toon location... I've never tried Roll20 on my phone... does it work?
GM Dak
You can use Roll20 on the phone, but like Slides it is just for reference as moving things around can be difficult. I could run google slides as a defense map to see where you have been and the room ahead and keep Roll20 for the tactical side of things?
Verris "Eagle Eye" Gerdin
I don't mind what is used. Whatever suits people most is good with me!
Amelexis Dusk
"Lexi, are rats and wererats friendly? As in... would a wererat keep a rat as a pet?"
Gonna ask GM Dak for a ruling on whether or not Lexi would know this.
Her roll for Knowledge (local; lycanthropes) was a 25, and I had her mention their DR/silver, shapechanging ability, and favored habitats (though this last nugget is more flavor than crunch). If lycanthropes are considered "common" monsters, maybe the 25 is enough to garner another bit of monster lore...or maybe not.
If it helps, Lexi rolled a 27 for her Knowledge (nature) check about rats themselves. :)
And thanks to Verris for nudging me to update the Lexicon of Lexi (a compilation of all her in-game Knowledge checks for future reference located at the bottom of her character sheet). That's now up-to-date.
GM Dak
Yes, with that check you made, you would essentially know just about all there is to know about wererats including that they can in fact communicate and empathize with rats, as well as transform into them. Aside from the DR/silver she would know that they can also pass on their curse through a bite in addition to possibly carrying disease.
Gurk the Goblin
So much for stealth.

New map is all black for me.

Low connectivity for next few days. Feel free to bot Davor.
Amelexis Dusk
I'll be without internet access on Sunday and Monday. Please bot my PC as needed.
Adistan Temmer
Even without using a silver weapon drops the creature to the ground.
Obviously it doesn't matter in this case, but just for future purposes, mithral counts as silver. (Sorry if you were just being poetic -- I know I sometimes get too caught up in trying to write exciting descriptions and confuse my players!)

Dealing with personal emergency in my family for the next few weeks. Please kindly bot Davor in the meantime. I will still check-in but more in reading mode to follow your adventures or to fire a quick post when possible.
