Been a long week but hoping to get a few meaty posts in this weekend. :) Meanwhile, feel free to assume Scram communicates to all about her beliefs regarding the ghouls pulling back.

Arianna Moonwood |

So a little bit of an update. There's been a snag and we don't know what the plan is now. Long story short, an issue we thought had been resolved showed back up, and now they're postponing the procedures until they can resolve it.
Thank you for the support that y'all have given me. I appreciate it. I'll try to get a post up this weekend, but we'll see. I'm probably going to be exhausted.

Arianna Moonwood |

Wanted to give y'all an update. We're waiting on the hospital to give my mom an MRI to see if the gall stone has passed. Depending on what they see, they'll either go in for the stone, then take out her gall bladder the next day, or just take out her gall bladder if the stone's passed. Either way, we're looking at least Tuesday before she can come home, but more likely Wednesday to Thursday.
Thank you all for you patience and well wishes. I appreciate both. I hope that things will get to be more normal soon.

Arianna Moonwood |

I have some good news about my mom. She had the MRI, and it came up good. She'll only need to undergo the one procedure. We're hoping she'll get to come home tomorrow if they can get her in for the procedure today.
Thanks for the well wishes. I appreciate it. :)

Things went well with the procedure. Momma's coming home tomorrow. :)

Moving over to the scraggly juniper tree, the dwarf searches the more resourceful Sliver. However, he finds little of practical use. A bag of thirty four gold coins. All stamped with the Emperor's undying visage on the front and the eternal flaming skull of the Empire on the back. He also finds a scroll with what appears to be list of several spell components. Most appear to be typical, at least typical for an undying necrophage of the Eternal Empire. But one does stand out as the dwarf reads through the list. Ruby Sea Dragon Bone.
Did we ever talk about this? That was one of the things we were looking for to destroy the sword, right? That might make some more motivated to search the village.

Gunnar Thorstein |

I thought that sounded familiar.
Feel free to assume during our next test that Gunnar talks about what he found. I’m sure he is smart enough to remember that it is one of the components to destroy the sword.

Scramsax |

Yeah, no worries. I noticed it when posted then promptly and totally forgot about it. :)

Arianna Moonwood |

Still around. I did notice that too, but figured that would be something for later.
For now, I'd say we find someplace where Luthael can do his glow up without being seen and we do what we can to help the villagers.

Scramsax |

Should we all just go to the cabin then? When the fog lifts we'll be sitting out in the open again.

Arianna Moonwood |

Probably.

Guys I know we are all pretty busy but I put up a 5e Spelljammer game on Myth Weavers if interested.
...and yes, I don't have the best track record as DM lately. :P
Courts of the Shadow Fey [Failed]
Saga of the Worm [Failed]
Descent into Avernus [Failed]
These are pretty straightforward AL-style modules in comparison.

You're Cointhief? Ha ha. I just put in a concept. I love your games for as long as they run.
Team, I'm flying to the other side of the world this week and returning Friday. So my posting quality and quantity will be challenged. Worst case, I'll catch up Saturday.
Cheers

Unfortunately, my dance card really is full now, but I am sorely tempted.

I've been wanting to check out Myth Weavers and things are gradually starting to slow down for me. I could take on something as a player. I'll bust open my Spelljammer stuff and see if I can put something together over the next couple of days.

Scramsax |

Tareth, if you are looking at the 2e stuff there is a lot that has changed/simplified as far physics goes but the lore should be pretty much the same. Phlogiston and crystal spheres aren't there anymore for example.

Looks like candles, holy water, incense and silvered salt. In a post nearby he mentioned only being able to cleanse 2 infected at a time.

Scramsax |

There was also a 200gp bowl that I help Invictusol purchase which I don't think was consumed.

Scramsax |

Guys I feel like activity has really dropped here and its my fault. Not pointing the finger at anyone except myself for little side tangents holding things up.
Is there some way we can get back to 1 post/day on weekdays? I really miss the game. Maybe a fade to black and scene change where everyone is back together and moving forward on something?

Gunnar Thorstein |

For me it is just a bit of uncertainty where my character is. He was planning to head off after the strays pretty much immediately, so I haven’t been posting for him for the camp scene.
He was hoping they were not far away and could be brought back quickly, but with the discussion of a house and the deception of the gnomes things have gotten a bit muddled.

DM - Tareth |

Sorry, some of the slowdown is also my fault. Things have been busy in RL the last month or so. So I haven't pushed things along. However, they are starting to calm down and I'm hoping to get back on track. Maybe not everyday, but close to it.
However, it does look like we may have lost Aterro again. I'm not sure about Ingryd, she may just be waiting to see what happens.
I don't think we need to play out combat here. I'm sure you all can take down the vampire boy. Yes, he's a vampire, not a gnome. But the fight would be hard enough in your spent state that the twins will be able to just run away which is what they would do. You are able to confirm they are gnomes in the process. Whether they were acting in alliance with the vampire, under his influence, or something else, well, you don't know.
With that temporarily resolved you all can quickly catch up with Gunnar and eventually the stray prisoners approaching the abandoned noble's cabin.
Sound good? If so, then I'll post some kind of in game summary and set things up at the cabin.

Arianna Moonwood |

Sounds good to me.

Gunnar Thorstein |

Works for me.

Scramsax |

Absolutely, thanks.
edit: and yeah, Ingryd mentioned losing their computer and only having phone. Not sure about Aterro

Luthael Invictusol |

Sounds good to me.
FWIW. I’m getting lost a bit in the plot line.
Cheers

Here's a brief attempt to try and summarize the current events and plot, such as it is. :)
--> While traveling south toward the Ruby Sea in order to locate a vital ingredient for the ritual to destroy the nasty Sword of Evil Evilness, you rescued several prisoners (including Arianna) from the clutches of gnome slavers.
--> It was discovered these prisoners (including Arianna) were infected with a nasty parasitic demon. And that the gnomes were delivering these poor prisoners as part of some agreement with the Undying Empire or some faction within it. Further questioning revealed the time and location of the delivery as Blandezig.
--> Most of the party (including Arianna) chased off after a couple of the slaver gnomes. The chase led them to a certain Lemonade Stand and at some point the planting of a magic bean which resulted in an actual giant beanstalk. More hijinks ensued, but in the meantime Luthael was left to struggle with the keeping the prisoners alive, preventing a demonic plague outbreak, and trying to get them back to his family manor so they could be properly healed.
--> Eventually you all did make it back to the manor. Connected with Luthael's priestly mentor and learned the healing ritual and saved the prisoners (including Arianna).
--> With little time to reach the gnome-ghoul rendezvous, you decide to take the shadow roads. Things happen, brave deeds are accomplished, and you make some new friends including the ancient treant who helps you all (including Arianna) reach Blandezig in time.
--> Arianna, by herself, scouts the village while the rest of you wait hidden nearby. This results in a pair of massive explosions, the appearance of an angry unholy avatar and the fight with yet another platoon of ghoul legionnaires. But all indications do point toward the gnomes taking the majority of the blame for the explosions. It was also discovered that there may be some amount of the black dragon bone sand necessary for your ritual stored among the provisions of the legionnaires or their allies...former allies.
--> The Blasting of Blandezig did allow several of the prisoners to escape. These were rounded up and guided by Gunnar's faithful familiar, who used to be your magic carpet ride, back to your hidden camp. Not realizing the camp was actually that of their rescuers, the poor starving wretches ate a good portion of your provisions. Then some moved on.
--> Having returned to camp, you all (including Arianna) discovered the prisoners and also discovered they are infected with the same demonic parasite.
--> Gunnar and Ingryd went to follow the trail of those who left. Those who remained (including Arianna) question the former prisoners, it is believed the others were heading toward some reasonably close abandoned nobleman's hunting cabin. It also revealed the three youthful imposters hidden among the prisoners. A vampire boy and two gnomes disguised as red-headed twins.
--> Having dealt with the imposters, the rest of the party (including Arianna) help and hurry the sickly prisoners along the trail to catch up with Gunnar and Ingryd near the manor house. I believe that once you've got them all secured the goal is to once again cleanse the prisoners and then head back to Blandezig to both deal with the remaining enemies and potentially find the stash of black sand.

Arianna Moonwood |

Sounds about right to me. :)

Gunnar Thorstein |

Great summary!

Luthael Invictusol |

Wow! That’s why I love this game.

Scramsax |

That's about what I was thinking. That first bullet point was like more than a year ago if I'm not mistaken. ;)

Scramsax |

Gunnar, when you have a free moment could I see your spell list? I wanted to absorb some leftover spells since it seems we just had a long rest. I used to have access to your DnDbeyond sheet but now its blocked.

Hmm…It was already set to public. Try it again and I will do a screen dump if it doesn’t work this time…

Weird, its working now...was asking for request access earlier. Thank you.
I'll take a lightning bolt if you still have a 3rd.

It's that darn Ice Hyena we left alive, calling it now. ;)

Scramsax |

I thought we long rested, but didn't ask for confirmation. If not we stayed up all night.

Arianna Moonwood |

Pretty sure we stayed up all night.
And if it's that hyena, well, good thing we have our own human torch with us. ;)

Scramsax |

I'll be travelling a bit tomorrow and visiting people the next few days, should still be able to post somewhat though.
Crossing fingers for pyramid bean result.

Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans. Happy Thursday to everyone else.
I just have to say, I am curious as to what's going to happen with those pretty low rolls on that stealth check.
