Present.
Linked in to the healing role. Would the GM permit me to keep spontaneous spellcasting? I lose it to the cardinal archetype but without it I'll either have to spend all spells on healing or only ever prep 2/3 spells so that I have slots to fill up with healing after the fight. Relying on channelling isn't optimal!
I can probably work around it if need be, but it would help.
Lucius would quite like the carpet of flying (at least until I get wings)

If I'm not mistaken, we are down to:
Cardinal Lucius
Johann Kaltgeboren
Ogon Fox
Zagathoth
Mwikali
Lord Perpireen
Princess Ihrin Dracul
Alexei Orlovsky
Algoral
Samsaran psychic
The end of Act 1 would presumably have these 10 sailing back to Rome aboard the Alanqilis (how much longer can I make you voyage by sea vessel or riding mount before Alexei and Mwikali are just nonchalantly teleporting you all over creation? :)), a voyage that will take at least a week, maybe more if the Atlantic and the Mediterranean do not cooperate...
This, I believe, is where we will start the combined table, with the voyage back to Rome, and each PC reiterating their description (as if newly introducing the character aboard the dhow for the first time), so we have a clear conception of the protagonist party at the start.

Zagathoth |

Are we going to set up some kind of regeant to rule in my absence (and care for my lovers, and eventual progeny) while we’re busy in Rome? Maybe make some kind of treaty with the Prince of Portugal?

Mwikali |

Why yes I will appoint one of the fierce women of Harem to rule. An affront to beliefs at the time. Possibly Vanna if you choose to set her up that way.

I have been getting an error message with the Paizo golem when I try to edit any campaign. This is preventing me from making table 1 inactive, and removing past players from the campaign notifications list. How can I resolve this issue? Is it possible to get a site admin to help us fix this issue?

Michael Johnson 66 |

We should use this table to tie up any loose ends in Morocco, and possibly for the brief journey west across the desert to the coast, where the party can board the Alanqilis (an Arab dhow whose name means Eel) in Safi, or perhaps hire another ship in another port. From that point, we will switch to table 3 (combined table) and Act 2 of the campaign will commence!

I don't know MJ. I'm having a similar issue trying to shut down an old game of mine.

So what do we think of Lucius' plan? In my restat I picked up Leadership this level so Rodrigo is/will soon be available as a level 6 paladin - hopefully he could play the holding role as leadership fairly well and he'll stay loyal to Lucius (and therefore Rome) at least...
As to Prince Henry - Zag's idea of paying tribute as a vassal, Lucius's idea of 'submitting to Rome' (which given how many favors we're doing for His Holiness would probably be a light touch indeed!) or full independence? I feel like this is something the Jackals should weigh in on since it will cover Saffi and they did all the hard work on that (and generally here too!).
@MJ: What modifiers apply to Lucius's leadership score? I'd like to think that he qualifies for 'Great Reknown' (+2), 'Fairness' (+1) and 'Special Power' (+1) but of course thats entirely up to you!
I don't think there are any negatives for his cohort score. For followers I'd imagine he gets the 'Stronghold' bonus (+2) and maybe the 'Moves around a lot' penalty (-1)?
Score is somewhere between 9 and 15 depending on modifiers.
[8 level + 2 cha + 2 Reknown + 1 Fairness + 1 Special Power [+2 Stronghold - 1 moves]] So he'll get a full level cohort and up to 20 1st level followers, 2 2nd levels and 1 3rd level.

Zagathoth |

My suggestion was really to try to do all 3 of those... we 'submit' to Rome to gain papal support (trusting that between our favors for the pontiff and location at the very edge of the empire there will be virtually no interference) and pay tribute to Henry as a self-governing vassal (so he'd lend military support to safeguard our rule and we'd pay him a good chunk of the wealth that we'd otherwise be banking which, as adventuring PCs, we don't really need anyways, lol, and probably allow him 'dibs' on a lot of the import/export business).
Between those 2 measures, if they work, we'd be free to govern independently (through Rodrigo, probably) but we'd have enough backing to hopefully keep the emirate stable?
I definitely agree about the Jackals offering more feedback too though!

Alexei Orlovsky |

Setting up a woman as the regent might limit our ability to make good alliances, and would probably encourage patriarchal neighbors to make trouble... A fierce harem woman (or women) could be given other authority roles though... if there is to be some kind of council of ethnic/religious groups one of them could lead it?

Mwikali |

Just trying to be super progressive.
Eventually, I see Mwikali and her alliance pushing the Arabs outta North Africa Uniting the tribes and allowing for religious freedom, and no slaves. Then she can push south. She would allow for Portugal to have more land and keep Papal support to allow for the other Europeans to stay outta of it

Ihrin Ardlean Dracul |

Ihrin supports it too as a retreating Arab force from Africa would get her with the Popes support to push a crusade to oust the Arabs in Europe, saving Wallachia

Looks like a 15 to me too, Lucius.

Lord Perpireen McGibel |

Well Algoral,
I mean I am flattered but really. I'm not being funny here.
You made another Small flying Sneaky Skills Monkey side kick fey to the party, - cracking jokes about mortals and flying about while collects tales to take home.
Is a good idea for a PC because I did it at the start of this game.
Which is fine but before we get in each others way, and step on each others toes trying to do the same thing in game-play.
Lets see how we can make this work.
How can we differentiate your Fey "Look at the odd things morals do" "I'm small and sneaky and can help you" PC from my Fey "Look at the odd things morals do" "I'm small and sneaky and can help you" PC.
Well lets start with some world logic,
Lord P has made clear that Fey in the mortal world are rare as rocking horse S**t, once there where many in the reams of morals but now The king Under the hill. Keeps the curt safe, retreating to the bright ways. This is the back story to the game now so having two of us in the same place at the same time. Hehe well something is afoot.
Lord P is a spy for the King under the hill. The fey king, so much so Lord P's brother Arial showed up and gave him a gift from the queen to help him.
This if known about back home may have lead someone to send Algoral to she who Arial was sneaking off to see and why. This then gives you a root to be here.
Lord P and King Oberon want to aid the party, because the fates have deemed them to be key to the world at this moment. But this dose not need to be Arial agenda, he could have a hole other set of motivations and bakers.
You see where I am going with this. Now we can play off this, to make good game play.
So Lord P is not being funny, when he makes his whisper to Algoral, he is being deadly series. Who sent Algoral and why?
The very last thing you should do is tell Algoral, keep the line its chance. Just fate, nothing to worry about or see here.
Ramp the Drama. Hehe
:)

Algoral |

Algoral probably doesn't have as many hidden motives as Lord P.
Difference between a Bard and an Investigator.
I do see a difference in expected play style as well, as Lord P is more of a hinder the enemy type of character while Algoral is a help the party type, and in general will be a whole lot less subtle due to the constant drumming and proclaiming.

Ihrin Ardlean Dracul |

Ihrin is so gonna teach Zag to read, expand the mans horizons. Especially if he is gonna be a Leader and a Daddy.
Also I think making Ihrin an Avenger type Vigilante would be great eventually.

Michael Johnson 66 |

I know there are still some loose ends to tie up here at table 2, but while we are doing that, we can get the adventures rolling on table 3 too.
Table 3 is a couple days ahead of this table, to allow time to wrap things up in Morocco and get the party to the docks of Safi to board the Alanqilis and set sail for Rome...
Go ahead and re-introduce your Pcs in gameplay on the combined table, please. Prince Henry and his bodyguards have met the party at the quay of Safi to thank them for their brave deeds and wish them good luck on their quest in Rome. He has asked your names, so go ahead and briefly introduce yourselves. That way, we can start the fun on table 3 with an exciting sea voyage!

Mwikali |

Lol, hopefully some of you Crusaders know how to sail. I know you speak Spainish so that helps

![]() |

Lucius speaks all the tongues of men and angels. Give him a few lessons and he'll pick up almost anything you speak by next level too! He doesn't have Portuguese though...

Lord Perpireen McGibel |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

So I have been thinking that Load P may be doing another things. As mankind moves to the age science and the one gods. The fey would seek to pull all the magic from the world. So as to protect it. And keep it in a safe place until it can came back.

Hey, Lord P. just wanted to say this is a really cool Idea.

Lord Perpireen McGibel |

Yes then this would make way for the renaissance.
And it could be why Algoral is here as well.
Sometimes the portal has to be big, and it needs more than one Fey to bring it into being and hold it.
Lord P may be very happy Algoral is here if he know that.

You mean arcane magic of course? You can't just remove Go's like that! That's for to wait until the Enlightenment!
