We tend to name things as easy reference to something, or to identify ourselves with it or against it. So both postive associations or negative, depending on how we see ourselves interacting with it.

How many schools have mascots and names for their sports teams? How may military units have nick names, either that they have given themselves or history has? We tend to do it with individuals, families, small groups, large groups, races and nations. Even in Sci-fi we do it with other species.

Wow, I did not mean to lecture, So did we pick a name yet?

So do we get a phrase as well?

I can go first or last with one or two of the other humans, whichever has better light. If no light, definitely first with the Ioun torch out so I can see.


Well, there are six player characters, if we double up that's three four hour shifts, for twelve hour rests. Or if we do one at a time, that's like an hour and three quarter, which is ten and a half hours. Either way is fine with me.

Also, as far as names go, since no one jumped on "the Clash" (which would be perfect since that's the sound swords make) what about something that has to do with freeing slaves? "Freedom brigade" or "Freedom inc." or "the anti-slave league" or " libertas omnium" latin: freedom for all

I am Okay with the double upshifts. The Clash is cool, I was gonna say the Liberators but unfortunately its a bit cliche' for me


We could go with more Latin "libertate aequalitatem ipsum" Freedom, equality alcohol, but that's really more of a motto isn't it...

The Shackle Breakers? Or Chain Breakers?


"Libertate Pugnantium" is freedom fighters in Latin.

Chain breakers in Latin is "grandes fluctus torque" which feels a little clunky. 'Chain breakers' in English, makes me feel like a member of the blacksmith union.

I think latin makes it sound cooler.But if we want english, how about something less 'gradious' like "Desert Rats"

Volreg made his Stealth check for moving up, just need Wulfgar’s and whoever’s else is sneaking up, plus declarations of distance. Volreg said 35 meters (~105 feet, right?)...

Yes, I thought about making him a forest gnome or even a deep gnome. Settled on hill dwarf as being less removed from the society of Men, more likely to be from a family established in Mainz.

You have to be about 11th level with full BAB, and have Improved Two Weapon Fighting
