I'm trying to not freak out about the number of vampires we have to fight, and now many rounds we are using to get to them. So I'm not meaning to be a jerk about getting down the pipe.

But, MJ66, Once we actually get to the crypt, would you tell us how many rounds we have left.

It takes three rounds of double moves to get to the Catacombs where there are 9 vampire spawns ready to rumble...


So assuming Wulfgar cast guidance on all five adventurers, then resistance on all five, in this order: Wulfgar, lord P, Mwikali, Altin then Giovanna. Wulfgars, Lord P. and Mwikali's guidance has worn off. Altin has one round to use guidance and Giovanna has two rounds to use Guidance.

As for Resistance, once we reach the catacombs: Wulfgar has three rounds, Lord P has four rounds, Mwikali has five rounds, Altin ahs six rounds and Giovanna has seven rounds.

Assuming Wmikali readied her spells first then read the 'protection from evil' scrolls, the same time Wulfgar cast Resistance: the duration would be the same on 'protection from evil' as on Resistance.... unless the wand would cast at the level of the person who made it, honestly I don't know enough about wands to know for sure.

Altin has a cloak of resistance, assuming that doesn't stack, so no need to cast that on me. If that helps any.

If not it moves the other spells up two rounds

We all went, then the vampires went attempting to dominate us, starting round 7.

Then everone went except Altin, he and I had the discussion about 'heroism' but I don't think he got to shoot at something in round 7.

So we started round 8. When Altin posts, can he go ahead and attack in round 7 then in round 8?

They do not lose hit points when they gain a negative level, and they gain a +2 racial bonus on saving throws against death effects, energy drain, negative energy, and spells or spell-like abilities of the necromancy school. This racial trait replaces celestial resistance.

If he didn't take the damage, does he still get the negative level? IF he does, is there any other effect than the loss of hit points? If I remember correctly it's basically the loss of a level.

Oh, and the beginning of that last round was round nine.

If Wulfgar’s DR soaked all the slam damage, I think he avoids the negative level as well?

Unless I find rulings otherwise on the boards, I will go with Wulfgar is unaffected by the negative level if he resists all the damage of the attack that delivers the negative level...


Ok are we charging in, or are we stopping to recast spells and use the last scroll protection from evil?

if were casting spells how long do we need, if Wulfgar drops out of rage he will need six rounds to recover, also the "heroism" that Altin cast will be wearing off, I think that was ten rounds, Again I'm good with stopping, it just sounded like Giovanna was headed in, so I thought I would ask.

You all can go charging in I will cast some defensive spells as we go. But I need to have more of a defense


the protection from evil has worn off, Wulfgar cannot cast while raging, could someone read the scroll while were moving forward.

The fact that this table is lagging behind table 1 in XP and level at this point is mainly my responsibility as GM, so to remedy this, upon defeating the master vampire and taking Safi for Portugal or your own free Kingdom of Africa, you will each jump up to 20,000 XP each, putting you well into level 6 and on your way to 7th level. My apologies if this table’s campaign hasn’t been as engaging or stimulating as table 1’s in the Roman Catacombs. I think part of it is they are doing a big mega dungeon crawl, and you guys are doing more wilderness and city traveling and adventuring, which naturally goes at a slower pace.

So, survive this encounter, and you will level up big!

So MJ66, I don't know about anyone else, but I would really rather not micro manage Safi, or the remaining NPC's.

It's my opinion that between the boat and the town, we should be able to 'assign' them to tasks and just use this as a base of operations and the boat as a means of transport.

If one of you other players wants to micro manage Safi my only request is that Safi stay a free port, not part of the present Arab Caliphate, not part of Portugal, not necessarily part of a 'united Africa.' But a free city where anyone can live peacefully.

The diamonds mined will allow the resurrection of her former adventuring companions, who were killed by other heroes in another game...
The Feast of St Valentine is about a month out yet, when table 1 has discovered a plot by the Antichrist and the fire dragon Wormwood to bring holocaust to Rome...
Prince Henry could receive warning from the pope of this plot, and call the brave Desert Jackals back from Africa to help the Crusaders of the Catacombs quell the evil for all time...
