APL is 5.5, so if I'm not mistaken you'll have to play high tier; if you choose to round your APL down, though, you can play with the 4-player adjustment. What's your preference?

Out of tier is certainly fine with me, I expected as much when I applied. Four player adjustment would be preferred.

I haven't read the last couple of posts in the gameplay thread yet (long work day afk, plus tonight being my first F2F game since April), but I wanted to clarify something: This trial is being run in parallel, not in series. All the PCs are supposed to start at the same time, so there would have been no chance for Sylvester to see anyone else fail before he was expected to start. That should not have weighed in his decision not to participate.

As to not be a difficult player I will have Sylvester participate. The success or failure of other party members would not impact Sylvester's decision in the slightest. :)

I should've said something about this before, since it may make a difference in what the party has access to in the final trial. Desynthia, stepping briefly into metagaming there's nothing in the scenario about using magic--just that the only criterion for success is as described. Given that the monks seem to have some supernatural abilities, though, I'd say that you can use any magic that would improve your ability to climb. For that reason, flight or levitation is out.
