ok. catch up time.
Chen: Let's say you have a power wrought peg leg. It mimics the natural movement of your leg to a limited extent. it has some articulation in the ankle and foot area, but the leg itself is one single piece of Steel. But, because it is made of steel, you gain a natural attack.
Fia and Ryland, you both find someone who is willing to bond and pass bond to each other.

ok, before we roll into the first excursion into TAR, does anyone have anything they need to get/have addressed or what not?
Yes, a housekeeping/build issue. As decided way back when, Fia is currently built using the old class structures rather than the new ones in the pathfinderized pdf. This means that she is still using the old houseruled skill set.
And this means that she has zero ranks in important skills like dreamwalking and channeling, and a whole bunch of ranks (and a feat) in houseruled version of composure, which for everyone else I believe no longer does what it used to.
Short of having her play by a different set of rules as everyone else, I am thinking that the easiest way to bring her in line with the skills of the other channelers would be to zero out and then rebuild her skill ranks.
Is this acceptable? Do you want me to make best guess as to class skills, or use the class skills for the initiate(wise one) in the pathfinderized pdf?
Also regarding the "skill focus: composure" feat, since the skill presumably no longer does what it used to, can this be refunded?

Fiallain |

Keeping same class skills (but adding Channel and Dreaming as new class skills), she would then look something like this:
Acrobatics 15 (9 Ranks)
Channel 18 (11 R)
Climb 10 (4 R)
Composure 8 (1 R)
Diplomacy 5 (1 R)
Dreaming 17 (10 R)
Heal 8 (1 R)
Intimidate 12 (6)
Inversion 13 (8)
K Arcana 6 (1)
K Waste 6 (1)
Perception 16 (9)
S Motive 13 (6)
Stealth 16 (10)
Survival 8 (1)
Weavesight 17 (12)
Which, assuming the above is okay, just leaves the question as to whether she can switch out the skill focus composure. I would probably switch it out to maybe SF channel instead.

Fiallain |

Cool. I made the switch, swapping SF composure for SF channel and also improved grapple instead of improved trip.
Tempted to take defensive combat training instead of combat expertise, but her AC is really low for this level as it is.

Storyteller Shadow |

I am good as is Amorial is more if an RP character than a combat character.
Been horribly suck but will try to do some updates tonight.

Ok guys. Rhoekk has PMd me with wanting to join back up with the group. He was initially with us when you all invaded the tower, but suddenly left unexepectedly. Now he would like to jump back in, yet he has reminded me of his desire to become a clan chief, so he would need to go to rhueidian and go through the glass columns. But, with him being in the tower, it presented a problem because of the tower collapse. Rhoekk had the great idea of him finding another of those twisted door frames into the aelfin/elfin realm.
Rather than just me just having the fun of one offing with rhoekk, i wanted to see if any of you guys wanted to join in and play some roles like an aelfinn, or wise one, or even one of rhoekks ancestors whilest in the glass columns.

Sure, sounds like fun!

Storyteller Shadow |

Good to be here. Looking forward to getting back to it.
Glad you were pulled back from the shadows ;-)

Fiallain |

Awesome. Sounds fun. Welcome back Rhoekk. :)
Actually that brings up something. At some point, Fia also needs to go to Rhuidian, or she'll be the perpetual apprentice.
Not that right now is the time for it. She has spent very little time actually behaving or acting like an apprentice or doing apprenticy type things. xD Anyway, something to keep in mind for the future.

RIZZENMAGNUS |

Actually, there is that 30 day window from the collapse of the tower and meeting the dragon.

fia: Female Channeler/wise One
rhoekk: Male Algai'siswai/ Aethen Dor
rhyvin: Female Channeler wilder
keelix: Male Wolfbrother
Chen: Ogier Bladesman
so, we have the above that have indicated they are willing to restart this campaign.
But there is a minor hiccup, which i think can be overcome. The main, over arching plot of this group is to find "the Grey Man". Through twists and turns, investigations, and research, Amorial and Rhoekk were able to figure out Who the Grey man is, but are now attempting to figure out where he resides, and what not.
For Rhyvin, we were delving into her history, her past, with the revelation that her mother was in fact Lanfear, but her father is an unknown.
Rhoekk has a strong desire to go to Rhuidean to become a Clan Chief.
Chen is technically an Ogier Gardener, loyal to the Seanchan Court and empress, but has attached himself to this group because "he's having fun"? Honestly, i dont remember the reasoning, lol.
Fia is training to be a Wise One, but her final hurdle is the recognition of other Wise Ones as being a Wise One. She was also into Ryland, who we shall get to...
and Keelix...ummmmm....lol, sorry keelix, i dont remember your ultimate goal. i remember you being interconnected with Vala, and wanting to be a warder, but beyond that...sorry bro.
The missing ones:
Amorial: he was the lorekeeper of the group. He also died and came back as a pseudo-vampire that sucks the Source from men and women who channel in order to feed/survive.
Ryland: bladesman, protector. Held the sword that wasnt, an anathema to channelers. A potent Ter'angreal, and because of this sword, he was changing to being a focal point of the story.
last important note: aside from Chen, everyone else is from the "main" realm, as everyone had transported to this realm using a portal stone.
so the question becomes, do we carry on with the main story, or do i do a radical shift to the world and create something new? I want to know your thoughts on this before choosing a course of action...

Keelix Andren |

Honestly, Rizzen, Neither do I.
I remember it had something to do with Grandfather Wolf, and Vala was obviously a big part of it, But Ryvin holds Keelix's bond (or did).
That is about all I have left...

Fiallain |

My only thought is it might be easier going with a new direction, given missing players and the multi-year break. Honestly though, I am happy either way.

Rhoekk of the Tardaad Aiel |

A think a small time skip might be in order... like a six-months later kind of thing.
One of the only aspects of the old campaign I didn't care for was being stuck in a parallel world. To Rhoekk at least, it felt as though nothing they did could matter, as the world itself wasn't real. Getting back to the main reality was the only goal that could possibly matter.

RIZZENMAGNUS |

Yeah, a new start would be a good idea.
I like the idea of jumping forward a few months, working out a short story explaining how you guys transition from this portal world to a main one.
I need to figure out where abouts you guys were in the timeline. I think it would work out to around the end of book 7. Maybe start of book 8 +5-7 chapters in. Id have to...whew...id have to reread from the start.
Hmmmm...

Did i ever tell you the resolution of the campaign? I know i told rhyvin

Storyteller Shadow |

so yeah...i put this on the back burner, dealing with life, and wanting to make a proper story of how you guys went from this alternate world back to the home/main world/realm, and then everything else happened. So yeah...
Understood. We will still be here when you are ready.

Keelix Andren |

Life does that. My own has exploded, lit on fire, and sunk into the swamp. So I understand 100%. When you are ready....

RIZZENMAGNUS |

Thanks guys, i appreciate the support. It's been a rough one.
but here we go...
super short, quick, summed up version.
You guys hit a dead end with looking into the Gray man.
with the destruction of Tar Valon, the largest library in this realm has been destroyed. Your hopes of finding information about the Gray man have been nullified. Perhaps it is not this turning of the Wheel for you to discover the Gray man.
Your search takes you down to Tear, the second largest library in the realm, especially with emphasis of subjects towards the One Power, Tar Valon, Aes Sedai, ter'angreal, angreal, sa'angreal, and the Age of Legends.
The decision has been made to return to your "realm". But you need to find the proper rune that links the portal stone from this realm to another.
There is a 2nd option, using the strange grey metal key from within the house, but interacting with ter'angreal is a dangerous business, and the opportunity for disaster is too great to try on a whim.
After 4 months of searching, you came to another dead end. You cannot find the rune that will guarantee you travel back to your realm.
in the end, you all agree to use the doorway within the house to go back to the realm.
It works...but there is consequences.
The key, and the house, shimmer out of existence when you walk through.
Ryvin, Keelix, Rhoekk, Amorial, Fia and maybe Chen if he joins us make it through the portal.
Ryland and the others are lost.
And time has...convulsed.
when you left, it was towards the end of summer, when you arrive, it is mid spring...
and where you step out is upon a hill, a hill that stands about 1 mile to the north of once was a city, but is now in a ruined state. It was a city that has been ravaged by time, by weather, by external and internal forces. Just to the east a large, wide river winds from north flowing to the south.
All of you have heard the stories of these ruins. the history, the self consumtion of hatred towards the Shadow, and how it destroyed itself from within as it sought to destroy the Shadow.
It was once known as Aridhol...
but is now known as Shadar Logoth.
i guesstimated that you guys, in book time, were in the middle of The Path of Daggers when we last left off. So, with the above, it put you into the middle of Crossroads of Twighlight. Stepping through the door brought you back to the final chapter of Winter's Heart.
