Hey guys...
I wanted to apologize to all of you for my absences these last couple weeks. It hasnt been all work related.
I have PTSD. For the last few months it has been really hard for me to have any emotional responses or connections with anything, including my wife and kids. Even the joy of being a DM to a group of talented individuals brings a "meh" response now.
Everyday, for the last 7 years, i have been waging an internal war within myself in considering suicide to stop the anguish and misery that i have been dealing with since my time in Iraq. And to date, I am still alive.
But, It has gotten harder lately. My emotions, when they come, run from anger to hostility to absolute rage. I am withdrawn, secluded, and avoid people whenever possible.
I know I need help, and I am actively seeking it. I have met up with a councilor, a psychiatrist, and am looking into doing in-patient treatment to better help me manage my PTSD and side effects of it.
I know that we are just random avatars on a screen spread throughout the world, but it is our enjoyment of WOT and this RPG that has been a small comfort to me these last few years. At times, some of the opponents and their discussions have been outlets for me, and in truth you all have responded well to it.
Am i done with this rpg? oh hell no! Not at all. Far from it. I still have tons of material to work with. Ryvins ancestry, the gray man, a possible resurrection, and more. There is that strange connection between Keelix and Vala to explore.
I felt i owed you all an explanation as to what has been happening lately, and future plans for this game.
As for right now, posting from me will be a little spotty. I may tap someone to step up and co-dm for a little bit for me. But, i am not there yet...

Hey, I love this game, but I would never advocate putting it before your health, be it mental or physical.
You take the time you need to get better. If you have time left to play the game with us and it helps you feel better even if only a little bit, that's just a bonus.

Rizzen, I understand the struggle with PTSD. I would like to offer that if there is ever a time you need to talk to another veteran about it, do not hesitate to reach out to me. You are not alone, and you will not be left behind.
As for the game, I love WoT, and I have been having a lot of fun with this game despite my slowness to update my character with necessary changes. ;) We will all be here whenever you have time, or whenever you need a little help.
Absolutely no problem at all Rizzen. For what it's worth, though I am not a veteran, I've had my own struggles with mental health and understand the toll it can take. That said, it's awesome that you recognize it and are getting help. If there is anything we can all do to support you from a virtual perspective let us know. I will say that this game is one of my favorites I have ever played and consider it a privilege that I get to be in it.
Its okay Rizzen, health always comes first. I'd rather see you healthy than anything else.

Also, since I started out in the other mirror world, it would be helpful to know what this world's Egwene is like, what her disposition towards Rand is, and what her objectives at this meeting might be.
