and alathea could keep the sa'angreal if she's joining the link
Ah, I didn't know that. I thought that the leader of the circle would be the one to get the most effect of the sa'angreal. Alathea'll have to demand it back as soon as the party is to safety...

apprently TOR is releasing a WOT compendium later this year. it has everything that RJ didnt put into the books. Tor is previewing this with random exerpts, and their first one is the strength in one power. i just started reading it, and damn is it interesting, and detailed.

Careful with the wifi. Don't do anything important (e.g. Banking) with it.
Yep, just checking the boards with it, I too share that paranoia!

i mean in sitters in the Hall of tar valon.
rather than me writing all the exchanges between the sitters and the prisoners, chen and vala, id like to have some of you assume the roles as Sitters in the hall and begin to grill the prisoners, and ill be everything else.
Id like to have at least 4, would prefer 6, but 4 would suffice.
but the caveat would be that you have to post at least once, but prefer 2-3 times a day to show the activity of the Hall.

I would, but I will be camping all next week, probably without even phone access, so that probably won't help.
On that note, feel free to dmpc Fia as needed next week.

I could handle these 2.
Sitter - Green Ajah - Talene Minly
Sitter - Grey Ajah - Evanellein
Should I create a new Avatar for each to give it a Hall feel?

| Rhoekk of the Tardaad Aiel |
Repost from the game thread, since it doesn't belong there, and I thought I was posting here...
Here's a few ideas from me; I don't think any of these could come from Rhoekk though...
1). Holding him prisoner is restricting him from fulfilling prophesies that are necessary for him to succeed in the final battle. (Weak, as it requires you to overrule the Amerlin. Reasonable justification for treason, but treason all the same.)
2). Rand is the reincarnation of Lew Therin, an Aes Sedai. In order to be kept prisoner against their will, an Aes Sedai must be charged with a crime, receive a trial and be stripped of their status, yes? If he has not been charged, then his imprisonment is a violation of Tower law. This is maybe the only one I could see Rhoekk suggesting...
Saving the best for last:
3). Officially, the Dragon Reborn is a "Guest" of the White Tower who is presently benefiting from the wisdom and counsel of the Aes Sedai. Guests are free to leave when they wish; has anybody asked him if he'd like to go? I love this line of logic because it takes the three oaths, a political euphemism, and bites Elida in the ass with her own political maneuvering. If she'd said prisoner, he'd be a prisoner; but she said "Guest." It is heavily implied and universally understood that he is an involuntary guest, and that this is a euphemism for prisoner. However, the Three Oaths do not recognize euphemisms, and Aes Sedai are famously bound only by the most literal interpretation of the words they use. As a result, intended or not, he is a guest, because the three oaths demand it.
"You said he was a guest. I asked and he said that while he was grateful for the opportunity to receive our counsel, he no longer wished to impinge upon our hospitality. Be assured that before facilitating his departure, I made it clear he may feel welcome to beseech the White Tower for guidance and assistance in his endeavors whenever he wishes to have them."
This would only work if the explanation came after the escape of course, because all Elida would have to say is, "Now he's a prisoner" and it would no longer work. If she did not find out until after, however, then she can't even complain (officially). Even dishing out penance would be tricky (not providing wiser sisters the opportunity to dissuade this rash action by the Dragon, etc.). Real reprisal would have to be off the books... It would mean taking on a major enemy... but then if you're jumping realities soon after, who cares!
Rizzen, any (or all) of those overlap with yours?

tweaks to noble
as zira mentioned, being a noble by itself sucks. not a whole lot to be done, just a glorified bard.
well, i took some stuff from the pathfinder bard class and adding it to the noble class.
the resources from the UTDB will take affect over the "call in a favor" shown in the wotrpg book.
noble knowledge: as like bardic knowledge, nobles have greater access to books, and may have read a plethora of topics to help them learn to be better, or worse, nobles. THis allows nobles to make all knowledge checks untrained, and can add 1/2 his/her noble level to said checks.
inspire confidence: as per the bard rule but with a minor tweak. The increase in bonus applied to those listening will be +1 every 5 levels. so at level 15, the noble can apply a +4 unnamed bonus to those listening. this effect lasts as long as the noble speaks, but should he stop speaking, the effects will last the noble level+charisma modifer in rounds. The noble cannot use inspire confidence and instill fear within the same combat.
instill fear and doubt: the reverse of the bard rule. the noble has the ability to demand attention to himself, even in the heart of combat. with this attention, he is able to cast doubt upon his opponents, making them second guess their cause. perhaps he points out the infallacy of it all, perhaps he offers money. either way, his speech saps the will of those he and his army is fighting. this ability affects up to 2x the nobles HD in creatures if they are 4HD or more less than him, if less than 3hd or up to 3HD more he affects his HD in creatures. If 4HD or more above his HD, he affects 1/2 his HD in creatures. all creatures listening are allowed a Will save DC= to noble level plus charisma modifier plus 10. The noble cannot use instill fear and instill courage in the same combat.
inspire greatness: as per the bard special ability
inspire compteance: as per the bard special ability.

I guess there's nothing for it.
Can I retrain Multiweave into Lesser weave inventor? I'll pick up Greater weave inventor as soon as I have 15 ranks in Channel. Or is that meant to be Weavesight?
| RIZZENMAGNUS |
meant to be weavesight, sorry. lol
although i keep rereading those feats and i think they may be a bit too...something. not right, or something. It's like it's too broad of a brush stroke. oh i got the feat now i can invent new weaves willy-nilly.
i did work on something else prior to finding these two new weaves...so let me post them in a spoiler below and let you all peruse them.
i have said in the past that I am cool with people doing experimentation in regards to casting weaves and creating new weaves. Up until this time, no one has shown an interest in creating new weaves, aside from tweaking what is original, Ie a harden air to have a certain color.
But, when i look into this, and debate upon it, there has to be two criteria met before the person can begin to create a new weave.
1) can they cast said weave?
2) does their background allow for them to create said weave.
now the first option is straight forward, to an extent. Can they cast the weave that they are trying to make. I am going to pick on Rhoekk for my examples, because DM.
Let's say that rhoekk is trapped in a cell and wants to get out, but he cannot reach the keys nor the keyhole on the door from the outside. He is out of all channeling except for a single 0 level slot. And let's say that Rhoekk knows Arms of Air. He is in his cell, and 15 feet away is the keys to his cell, sitting on a ledge. Now, Rhoekk knows he could use arms of air to bring the keys towards him, but that is about it. He could be with the keys but unable to access the keyhole as it is on the outside of his cell. His arms are unable to reach the keyhole. so what could he do?
perhaps he could create a new weave that would allow him to manipulate light tools and hand objects. Basically, he wants to create the spell Mage Hand from pathfinder. since he is able to cast a 0 level weave, and since mage hand is a 0 level spell, this is an appropriate idea to make.
Now granted i am just using the mage hand spell as a reference, becuase it is easy to draw similarities and what not.
Now, next is the background. this one is more difficult to account for. I take my inspiration for this from multiple sources in the WOT books. Rand making his skimmer in The Shadow Rising, Nynaeve healing Sever, comments made about a person having the desire to make massive gateways and the first time they make one it is massive, whereas someone doubting themselves makes smaller gateways.
Now, wilders have the innate ability to try out new things, new weaves, because they kind of "figure it out" as they go, as they are shown in their cross-talent rule for their class.
With Initiates, be it Aes Sedai, Wise One, Sea people, Kin, Asha'man, etc, you have a structure to your learning. "do it this way". there are plenty of warnings to prevent experimentation.
so, based on background, this causes some concern over the person's ability to create a new weave, and their willingness to do so.
so, time for numbers
composure check DC 30+level of weave intended. (theoretically, you could make a level 12 weave)
Must have Talent for intented weave
Must have all abilities
ie if its mage hand, that would be Air. If you want power word kill, a 9th level spell from pathfinder, then i would say it would require all abilities and the Healing talent.
What happens if you miss the target number? you suffer from the overchanel rules, but with some modifications.
If you are attempting to create a level 0 weave, and if you fail, you suffer a headache that imposes a -4 to casting abilities for 24 hours.
if you are attempting to create a level 1-3 weave, and if you fail, you must make a fort save dc 15+weave level attempted.
if you are attempting to create a level 4-6 weave, and if you fail, you must make a fort save dc 25+weave level attempted.
if you are attempting to create a level 7-9 weave, and if you fail, you must make a fort save dc 35+weave level attempted.
if you are attempting to create a level 10-12 weave, and if you fail, you are stilled. period.
Rolling a 1 is auto-failure on this skill check.
If you have any sort of training with Aes Sedai, wise ones, sea folk, Asha'man, Kin, etc, and you are a wilder, there is a 50% chance that you will suffer from a -10 skill check penalty towards creating new weaves. The training and cautionary tales permeates your thoughts and you question your ability to make a new weave.
If you are an iniate without wilder levels, then you suffer -10 on composure checks towards making new weaves.
