"There we go with the dumb standards again. Wasting perfectly good talent because it's not inbreed. This is why we can't have nice things."
Ulna Terrianos
Speaking up, finally, demonstrating once again her stop and go personality with regards to fear, Ukna asks those near her, though, quietly, "How is it you came to learn this manner of ...well, disregard for the teaching of our schools and culture? If I did not know better, though, not completely aware of other Firebird's my age, are you not of noble houses? I was always taught the nobles define and defend the way. This is ...different."
She lacks any indication of being from a noble house, save her etiquette. Curious though, certainly nothing like the thin young lord in the back. Oddly enough, he lacks any visible heraldry as well. Perhaps it wasn't his choice to go without his standard, so to speak.
Other Skimmer Riders
The other two youths remain, in their own way, quiet and shut off.
Sven maintains his vigil, as it were, while they continue flying.

Fei, of the Sun Soul |

Melody Waverider wrote:*blink* *blink*
ahhhh, yeah, Tybs, This is Florence, and Florence this is my friend Tybalt, I call him Tybs. Florence here can run really fast, and she has these shoes that can talk to you, but you have to be like touching them.
Mel decides to not even talk about the others since that may just lead to unwanted hurts.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot, we were getting a bite to eat with vai and fei, you might as well join us, better than eating alone.
"Hi. Nice to meet you."
He gives a short bow-nod to Florence.
"Ya. I'm done. I'll come along, though."
Despite him saying he's done, there are quite a few trays nearby. They follow him.
"Hey Vai. You look all bright and stuff. Oh! Do you do that thing too? That's so cool that we're both right here in the same place."
^_^
Fei's steady pace allows for him to close the distance with the others once they have stopped to speak with Tybalt. He surreptitiously falls in at the back of the troupe (to not interrupt their conversation, of course) as they begin to head inside the Cafeteria.

"Ace" |

Ace waves David off "Go and eat. I can just use the SIM room to fight against for now, but if you wanna come back later for a proper one on one, I would gladly go a few rounds"
Turning back to Nanami "If you don't mind, can I fight some SIM battles for now?"

Tybalt Baneko |

"It's just a job thing. You don't need to worry about it."
He smiles cheerfully to Florence.
"Oh hi Fei. You might not remember me, but I was one of the people that helped when you got all exploded and stuff. Glad you're better now. Oh hey! You have the thing too. Sorry this is new to me. And we all have nice things. Are there people with bad concepts too?"
He seems cheerful, with his final question being ambiguous towards either Fei or Vai.
"Ya. Let's go in. It's starting to get warm out here."
He follows the troop inside.
By the way, Tybalt's aura looks like an iridescent bubble(picture Glenda) and the general 'good vibes' feeling of a positive concept champion.

I don't know much about their politics, but I know that hiding and wasting talent is stupid. Plus, look at all the dumb stuff that it leads the people to do. Name one thing. /One thing/ that gives them the right to think they're better than us. One thing that says anyone here is better than anyone else."
She says it loudly enough for their group to hear, but not so loud that it's easily overheard from over there.

"Hey, hey." he says tenderly, this being a completely new experience for him. His girlfriend was hugging him and crying. Sure, he had consoled her before, but not when they were romantically involved.
His left hand goes up to stroke her hair gently. "What's wrong Raelle?" he asks softly, not caring one ounce for the fact that the spectacle he had caused had drawn eyes to them, and now the crying was drawing even more. All his focus at that moment was on the girl in his arms.
"M-my friends....R-rodhas and Joneh....I just found out this morning," she sobbed. "They d-died. In the attack. And they d-didn't come back. It's not fair. They were good people. They just wanted to make their game and have it be something that made people happy...when I first came here Joneh used to make these goofy little finger puppets to make me laugh whenever I was having a bad day trying to get used to this crazy place. And Rodhas used to make up funny stories about the people who were bullies until they didn't seem so intimidating. And now I'll never get to see either of them ever again. And Morrivan went to the infirmary last night. I need to check and see if she's okay. And Ace and Dave got into a stupid fight this morning before I got here and Ace made Ginni so upset she ran out crying. And I need to make sure she's okay.....I don't know who to check on first..."

Ginni |

"That's hogwash, Ginni." Repp replies, himself getting heated in that moment. "I've spoken to people about Phaezeriel. He's a healer of the mind, but before he can heal their minds, he needs access. People are willing to trust the sanctity of their minds to a Demon. Why? Because he's shown that he is worthy of trust." Repp calms down slightly, though his gaze is still fixed, maintaining eye contact with Ginni."There are plenty of people here who seem to have enough power to level entire cities, if they pushed themselves. If people want to assume the worst of you, then you ought not associate with them. They aren't worth even a moment of your time. When those rumours about you surfaced, who stood with you? They are the ones who matter."
"It's not a long list," she said quietly. "And it's two people shorter after Saturday."

Sadie Jhiwoon |

Sadie Jhiwoon wrote:"You can come in!" she called out, her arms full of bamboo practice swords that she was putting away in their proper racks. The knob jiggles slightly, then turns and the door opens. For a moment, Sadie might've mistaken the woman entering the room for Vai, though she's significantly older, and wearing what looks like a gown issued by the infirmary. Sadie saw this woman yesterday... it's Vai's mother.
She appears rather nervous, standing in the door frame.
"Um... hello. Are you Sadie Jhiwoon?" she asks tentatively, her long, wavy blonde hair would be a match for Vai's except it's about twice as long, falling down to a little below chest level.
"Yes, that's me," she said a bit tersely, continuing to put away the practice swords she was holding.
"Was there something you wanted, ma'am?"

Asha Soleil |

Infirmary
The nurse, female, looks at Rena as she greets her with an arm brush.
Then listening to the young man, who she healed with magic of his cheek injury seems to get who they speak of once they describe the student further.
"Ah, yes, Malcolm. He's resting, we have him under study for a short period. Thankfully his inhibitor worked and then the wards brought him here as is protocol. I assume he pushed himself? We're fairly sure there's no permanent damage this time. He certainly risks a lot when he does his gift. Good thing his body is tougher than normal."
She thinks for a moment, then motions for them to follow showing Malcolm off, resting on a bed, hooked up to heart monitors, and various other standard, but more detailed health gauging devices (for those who can discern such).
"Fairly certain he'll pull through, this isn't the first time. He just needs rest and a brief nanite restore for internal injuries our current magic supplies cannot fix."
"Umm....can you tell him that Asha said to tell him thank you for helping her brother? I'd leave a note, but...I don't know how to write," she admitted, blushing.

Nanami Tanaka |

Ace waves David off "Go and eat. I can just use the SIM room to fight against for now, but if you wanna come back later for a proper one on one, I would gladly go a few rounds"
Turning back to Nanami "If you don't mind, can I fight some SIM battles for now?"
"I don't mind...would you prefer a single strong foe or a prolonged battle against overwhelming odds?"

Damiani |

"Umm....can you tell him that Asha said to tell him thank you for helping her brother? I'd leave a note, but...I don't know how to write," she admitted, blushing.
Nurse Person
The nurse nods, eventually stopping Rena's affectionate arm rubbing with a smile, saying, "Certainly. I'm certain when he wakes up he'll be happy to hear that. Classes are starting soon, don't forget to get a healthy meal in before hand."
Unless there's more asked of her, she gets back to her work.

Ulna Terrianos
"The only thing I can think of is tradition, but I guess you're not concerned with that... The efforts of ancestors and people with age and experience, compared to our ... Well, I can't say how old you all really are. You would be dismissing persons with years, beyound our own. That sounds just like what you're complaining about-- placing yourself above them. Exchanging places."
She frowns in thought and shrugs, adding, "All I know is how I was raised and have read. I am not one to throw the fuel out with the hatchling, that just seems impulsive and unwise. Especially if it's due to anger. I certainly wouldn't want any one to suffer for thoughts that aren't constructive... Something in that train of thought."
She shrugs and sighs, looking out the window. "Guess I just have the same ...fire, as those on here, apparently."
It'd be fairly obvious she was replying to Archena, give the volume of her voice.

Kezzin |

"I'm going to have to find a way to record you, aren't i? Look, I'm just trying to make sure you're alright... I'm sure you stuttered... What thought were you destructed by?"
Sorry, been a long week.
Kezzin shrugs, "No worries, maybe I did stutter. I doubt anything is wrong though. I do not remember what thought it was that distracted me. It seems to have not been important as it has flown right back out of my brain."

"Ace" |

Ace clasps David's hand "We're good, more or less"
In response to the Professor's question "Prolonged battle against overwhelming odds sounds fun" Ace says flashing his trademark grin. "Might warm me up to deal with Ginni later"

Professor Royston |

Royston stand in his class sim room, looking at a 3d projection of Ace and Dave.
Bedside him is a small floating rectangle, about the side of a family bible.
"Begin confection, your handing of this" the object says.
"the outcome was what was expected" Royston says still looking at the image.
"100%?"
"No but It was the probable most likely outcome, Student Ace was being controlled by his anger, he sort out and provoked what he felt would be the must susceptible subject on which to vent his anger, Student David. By verbally accosting him in front of he's closed compastion and onlookers. Seeking to shame and humiliate as a device to manipulate Student David into fighting him."
"Then why give him what he wanted"
"To reverse the situation on Ace, make him the subject of mass humiliation, and manipulate him into an action."
"Explain"
"I increased the side of the observation group, when humiliated him, his anger and frustration them transposed from Student David to Me, I becoming the target of his anger.
With the intervention of anther staff member. It help him justify this,"
"You know she would come?"
"Not her, but someone, we are monitored, I had overstepped my madndate, an intervention was predicted. It napped, coraction was given, I excepted it and left. Once the news target of Students Aces anger was removed,
Student David was no longer needed and so"
Royston point at the image of the handshake in front of him.
"and he is doing what he should have done and used to sim room to vent anger when it takes hold of him"
"I see, you manipulated him"
"O course, like many he feels he is free to do as he likes, when his emotions rule him more compleatily than any lord or king would." Royston looks at the object beside him.
"and you, what did you feel throu the event?"
Royston takes the object in his hand.
"Pride"
"Pride, I see. then you must be cleansed." the object said.
"Yes, I must"
Then Royston screamed as blue flame and speaks enfold his body, the pain is searing, each cell of his body is on fire, he falls to his feet, but still hold the object, and he is cleansed.

Sorry, been a long week.Kezzin shrugs, "No worries, maybe I did stutter. I doubt anything is wrong though. I do not remember what thought it was that distracted me. It seems to have not been important as it has flown right back out of my brain."
"Alright, if you say so."
marcell finishes off her food.
Kevin Ramos |

"Ya. I know. But give out enough pieces and you won't have any left for yourself...."
He says, distractedly waiting for the Imp to get in range. He looks down at his food, not giving that he watches with blindsight for the imp.
He also downs another potion he'll need once he catches him.

Archena Surya |

"See, that's the thing. I'm not putting myself above anyone. I'm putting us all on the same level, worth wise. They might have more experience, but that doesn't matter if they use it to make other people miserable. Now, without the upkeep of the Sun, we're all equals. I'm equal to you equal to them equal to the surfacers. We're all just as good as each other now, as long as we deserve to be that way. Now, this is where there's unequalness. They make other people sad, so they're not as good. Other people that help people to be happy are good. I don't care to do either, so I am in the middle, I suppose. If you help people, that's great, good on you. If you make people feel bad, that's not good and you need to stop or be stopped. I don't really feel like getting all that into this. It's all debatey. Let's talk about something else."

Tybalt Baneko |

Dave will eventually find Tybalt in the cafeteria.
He hasn't noticed Dave yet and may not until Dave finds him. Even smell won't tip him off, as he has Dave's shirt draped over his shoulders.
Vai, Fei, Mel, and Florence are nearby.
The food Dave had is following Tybalt, floating in mid air on the trays.

Alys Himuro |

A young girl of seeming 'asian-ish' descent kneels calmly on a carpet as it flies swiftly towards Avalon. Dressed in an informal, yet traditional, kimono, she has a small bundle rolled and resting beside her. Her completely calm appearance hides a roiling morass of anxiety and uncertainty.
A shuttle of some type passes her some distance to her left following a similar vector, but she merely glances toward it and then resumes watching the horizon ahead of her for the appearance of her new home.

Silinrul |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Sil growls a little at the open flirting tween Jai and Ehos, but he says nothing. He's still not 100% ok with her dating an elven prince, but he was warming up to the guy, slowly.
Once Ehos departs, he asks his sister "So, uh, what do I need to do in order to uh, become a student here" Its obvious to her that while he knows he now needs to stay here, her bro is not overly comfortable with the idea.

Tybalt Baneko |

Tybalt turns around and his ears flick up and his eyes brighten up when he sees Dave.
"You're back!"
He hugs Dave tightly, speaking
"I didn't think you'd be back so soon. How did it go?"
He looks up at him, not letting go yet.

David.De'Foul |

Dave ruffles tybalt's hair saying "He was all talk, I hit him a few times and then he conjured up an antimagic field, and tried to bait me into fightin him on the ground instead of the air where I'm better at it, I quoted a few lines of stratagem, basically told him to toss off, and just kept shooting him with crystal, though I suppose I should get my hands on a gun or two, just in case this comes up later, anyway the teacher went and stopped the duel when he said something about why he was fighting, and tried to give us detention, but the new PE teacher interviened and we decided to start back up at the end of the day"

Kevin Ramos |

I hope we can just do this cinematically. Tell me if you want me to make an attack roll to get him.
When the imp gets near enough, Kevin's left arm stretches out longer than it would seem capable of doing and seizes the imp, pulling it back in as his hand forms a blue shell all around the imp, save for its head.
He turns it around to face Kiara.
"This OK with you? I just took a potion of Statue if you want me to make absolutely sure he's not going anywhere."
1d100 ⇒ 58Nothing to see there. But, Geeze. Just barely making these rolls.
He looks at the imp, his pupils narrowing, as his long tongue circles his maw.
All this food is good, but the way it moves makes me hungry... watching this welp squirm as it's at my mercy.... what? No. Stop it.
He shakes his head.

Tybalt Baneko |

Dave ruffles tybalt's hair saying "He was all talk, I hit him a few times and then he conjured up an antimagic field, and tried to bait me into fightin him on the ground instead of the air where I'm better at it, I quoted a few lines of stratagem, basically told him to toss off, and just kept shooting him with crystal, though I suppose I should get my hands on a gun or two, just in case this comes up later, anyway the teacher went and stopped the duel when he said something about why he was fighting, and tried to give us detention, but the new PE teacher interviened and we decided to start back up at the end of the day"
He purrs a bit when Dave rubs his hair.
He lets go, still staying next to Dave, within his wing span."Guns are stupid. Daggers are so much better. So you never fought much at all? That's kinda good. I don't like thinking about you being in pain."
He gently rubs against Dave's side when he say this.
"Oh. You know Mel. This is Florence, a friend of hers, and I don't know if you know Vai and Fei or not."
He removes the shirt from his shoulders.
"Here's this, by the way. Not that you don't look good in your armor."

Melody Waverider |

at the mention of guns Mel seems visibly unhappy with such a thought.
she gives a smile none-the-less and and is genuinely happy that Tybs and dave seems to betting loser.
before they head in Mel grabs tybs by the arm remember, step by step reminding him of the song and its meaning.

David.De'Foul |

"In melee I'd be better off with my own body" he shows the dagger point edges of his wings, the long broadsword that his arm can transform into, the sharpened nails on his other hand, though after pointing this out he folds in his wings "I'm talking something I can use at a range when magic's no good, guns are easier to carry around, and easier to become proficient at, than a bow and arrow or even a crossbow, and yeah, he got hit a few times, but other than that, pretty much nothing, he never even pulled off an attack, least not against me," he fingures the clasp of his cloak
"Nice to see you Melody, Vai, Fei, good to meet you Florence," he gives a small bow during introductions
"Thanks, I didn't want to damage it, fighting, not after you worked so hard to to make it, say, how good are you at working metal thread?"

Tybalt Baneko |

(Before Dave)
"Ya. One step at a time." He smiles and nods.
-------back to current-------
"No, throwing daggers. Maybe you could figure out a way to do that with your feathers."
He helps Dave put the shirt on helping build his wings into the openings for them. He almost starts to do the buttons, but stops, remembering Melody's advise on taking things slow. He didn't want to make Dave uncomfortable.
"I don't know really. I guess it depends on what you need it for. Metal is tough. Too thin and it shreds fabric, too thick and it won't bend.
How are his wings folded now?

David.De'Foul |

Nah throwing daggers don't have the kinda range I need, at that range I could hit them with my whip, anyway about the thread, I was hoping to get this" he points to the cloak "as reienforced as possible, I was thinking adamanite, but if that doesn't work, mithril would be good enough, and I'd like to swap the clasp from gold to adamanite too in our fight ace targeted the cloak, and I flew up and mended it, in a real fight, that would cost me previous time, and moreover, it might not work, like in antimagic, so I want to avoid that problem in the future"

Kevin Ramos |

"What? I thought you wanted me to catch him. If you could just call him down, what'd I need to do?"
He seems confused as he releases the imp to her.

Tybalt Baneko |

"But that clasp goes so well with your eyes. Adamanite is useful, but the color is just so ugly. If you can get adamanite to wire up, I can do it, I guess. Have you considered letting me rework the magic in your robe into something a little smaller? Something not so big, like a watch maybe. I could make a nice watch and mimic the same effect. You could still keep the robe, but you can go without it and use the watch when it's not so practical. Plus your wrists would be harder to target. And if you want, it could be gilded adamanite. Just need the parts, but I'm sure we could get those somewhere. With the spell pattern already here, it wouldn't take to long. Plus it would be safer than adding to the robe. Magic can be unpredictable, and there's always that small chance something goes wrong if I try to tamper with an already made object."

David.De'Foul |

"True enough, that's actually a really good idea, thanks, the enchantment could be transferred with a little ritual, about a hundred gold pieces worth of rare incense, some gold dust, and a large gemstone worth about two to three gold pieces I think I have most of that on my ship, though I'm going to have to check and make sure I have enough incense, you know anything about metalworking or clockmaking?"

Tybalt Baneko |

"If we can get the parts made, I can put it together. I couldn't make the parts, but I know how stuff works enough to assemble it. Or, I could find all the watches I've collected and we could use one of them. Gold and other precious metals are usually pretty receptive to magic, so it wouldn't take much work. My book might have instructions for the transfer somewhere."
He smiles brightly, happy to accept praise from Dave.
With Mel here, Dave happy, and everything being alright for a little while, his world seems to be in a perfect place, even if only for a moment.
He doesn't notice himself start to purr with all of the good things happening.
