Also, Rob, do you mind if I switch out my familiar's base feat, Lightning Reflexes, for Throw Anything?
As it states in the Animal Archive:
Quote:Feats that are meant for familiars can be switched out for a familiar's default feats (as listed in the familiar's statistics) if the familiar meets the prerequisites. Such feat replacements must be made when the PC first acquires a new familiar, and-like all new feats from supplemental sources-the new feats should be approved by the GM before being integrated into play.My familiar will quite often drop things on peoples' heads (As seen in the funeral feast when he was dropping booze on Talon's head), mostly alchemical items, but sometimes other random things. Despite being Tiny, he has a strength of 6, so he can carry surprising weight for his size. Eventually I might get him Muleback Coords so he can carry more stuff and drop bigger things on people's heads. :3
Also, here is the animal's base stat block:
RhamphorrhynchusWorking on his *Exact* stat block after becoming a familiar now.
That is fine by me, yeah.

Rogath Silvertarn |

I notice Rogath is a Deep Delver. Is he from Varrok's Deep? Angrin might have hear of him if he is.
I mentioned this above, but it probably got lost between other posts - Rogath is from a smaller border post a day or two away from Varrok's Deep. So he's been there, but not on a regular basis, and not for the last 20 years or so.

I'm going to start going through the applications tonight and begin the long process of evaluation and review. I won't be doing a hard mechanical review of everyone, just an overview. Once I choose the final party, I will do a more in-depth audit of the character sheets to make sure everything is in order and make any recommendations/comments.
I hope to have a final roster decided no later than Sunday evening and to get started sometime during the week next week, once everyone who makes it in has made any last-minute adjustments or the like.
I just want to take this moment to say how thrilled I am to have so many awesome players vying for a spot in this campaign, and to those who don't wind up going on the expedition, I really hope you show up to any future recruitments I do, because you're an awesome lot of players!

Angrin Thronebearer |

Do you mind, Rob, if I say that Vigar's father, as master of coin, ensured that Varrok's Deep was well supplied (when he could afford to do so)? It would be a reason for Angrin to be at the funeral, and a reason for him to be loyal to Vigar.
It would also tie in nicely with why Angrin tolerates the oddities that surface-dwarves have, rather than shouting them out for it (*cough*Magnus*coughcough*).

Read about five pages of the gameplay thread so far today. Every time I think I have a better idea of who to pick, someone will knock a fantastic post just right out of the park and I'll put a little check mark next to their name and... man. This is going to be so hard.
I have decided one concession, however. I'm going to pick a number of dwarves to keep in "reserve" (I'm not sure how many yet) so that if the campaign loses a few dwarves to attrition, additional dwarves will be able to trickle in. There will be a very good story explanation for this as well, but that's... spoilery for now ;)

You obviously haven't played Dwarf Fortress then, when migrants will show up to your fortress even if you embarked on a terrifying glacier where the dead reanimate, it rains elf blood, and the occasional evil mist comes around that turns anything it touches into evil husks that hate the living.
The migrants will still come.

Maven Brewbane |

I was honestly at a loss as to how Maven would interact with some of the others, as she's not only a shy shut-in, but has little outside experience to spark a conversation most of the time. She's trying to come out of her shell, but I don't play a lot of low charisma characters, and I tend to hold myself to somewhat tight standards when roleplaying my ability scores, lol.

Rindovaan 'Curly Stubs' Avarack |

Yea, I think with so much going on, the only option is to do things that might create curiosity or interest with the other players, so that's how I've been doing it, as well as posting in here that there's something else to react too. :p
@Daelric - Well. Bonds have been formed. Not sure about friendship just yet. That'll take a while, but still, we've all had I think at least one interaction. :)

Rindovaan 'Curly Stubs' Avarack |

Well...Rin has no issue with anyone other than a slight dislike for the Empress due to stealing the show from the dead and expecting people to approach her, when the only respects being paid should be those to Hraggir in his mind. :)
Also, heads up.
Just about to go to bed but a post will no doubt cause a stir for every Dwarf in the room with what Rin's about to do.

Faelar Braegen wrote:So who here other than myself hasn't spoken with the empress?Talon hasn't. He's under the impression that she's here to ask for a favor of some kind and he doesn't feel he has anything to offer.
So, more modesty than any kind of dislike.
I haven't either, but that's as much due to late entrance as anything else.

Dr. Logem, Ph.Dwarf |

I think its funny that the cold blooded killer Dr. Logem seems to be more liked than Mineko is.
Well, Dr. Logem is a friendly chap, as the Original was. Not to mention that they don't know he's a cold blooded killer. I'm sure he'd be far less liked if they knew his story. :P
