Grimm Sharpest |
OK.
I am pretty sure I am good to go.
Anyone Interested, please look over my sheet and let me know if I have made any errors.
Basically Grimm is a Inquisitor of Gorum.
Strengths: High Damage.
Greatsword.
Power Attack+Trip line of feats. (Baldwin will remember a Paladin I used with a similar tactic)
Team work feats are centred around AOO's and Pack Flanking-He can grant these feats via a spell (THE ROGUE will LOVE this)
Justice Judgement+ Destruction (RAGE) Subdomain + Inquisitor's Bane for BIG HITS
Decent Skills/Stealth.
HIGH SAVES
Weaknesses: Low AC, lack of utility magic.
He doesn't know any healing spells but can use wands of Cure/Remove.
Dwarf Speed.
Drinks too much (even for a dwarf)
Spikey!!
Sucks vs ghosts or flying opponents
Grimm Sharpest |
Well hurry up about it ye dolts, taint easy being a prisoner and stayin' this pretty. I got me a list o things that need killin fer mor'n a few slights in all this time.....
Grimm Sharpest |
That time when you are chomping at the bit to start posting, so instead you continually re read you char sheet to make sure you made the right choices....
"I should have learned more healing...."
"I have no spells for ghosts"
It's cool that's Karnog's role
"My AC is not high enough to tank"
Don't worry about it. There is already a fighter and paladin
"My skills are not high enough"
Desmond is the skill guy
ARRRGH!
My intent was to make a role support char- He hits really hard but has to blow spells to do it.
He is ok at stealth so could back up Desmond (or take the front with invisibility for a bit)
Bit of a jack of all trades.
He IS especially good at saves vs magic.
And spell scent lets him track a caster.
Karnog Kegmeister |
Which is exactly what we needed against that blasted goblin high priest...
Grimm Sharpest |
Honestly, it sounds like Grimm is a mage-killer.
Yup. It is a role the Inquisitor does particularly well.
(Incidentally, he died going one on one with a higher level mage to save his party in the Cheliax game with Baldwin. Survived like 3 spells in a row before falling.)Grimm Sharpest |
Since this campaign is brutal and for some damn reason (looks up) I seem to have encountered alot of undead recently I have swapped a 3rd level spell for CSW.
Grimm Sharpest |
You lot all roll low to not recognise me and kill the grumpy prisoner and take his stuff.....what a short comeback to the boards.
Karnog Kegmeister |
Yeah the dwarf with int 10.
Not to worry, once we secure the area first priority is water and cleanliness for the prisoners, followed by food and (hopefully) freedom.
We'll turn Grimm up.

Perth Australia (specifically the Pilbra region 2000 km away from Perth.) I am a safety advisor at an Iron Ore mine. I work 2 weeks on 1 week off.
Karnog Kegmeister |
1d8 ⇒ 2 HP
Man the dice roller really has it out for me...
Re: "wishlist"
Belt of Str
Metamagic rods
Throwing/returning enchantment for hammer
Upgraded armor/buckler
Diamonds (for raise dead/restoration)
Magic item for tool kits (masterwork tools for all Craft skills, for example, dunno if that really exists)
baldwin the merciful |
You have silas a diamond merchant with you, he'll gladly pay his rescue in diamonds.
Karnog:
What metamagic rods?
What upgrades on the armor/buckler?
Most of you should have a descent amount of coin. Do you have a total GP value for each PC (excluding Grimm)
Plus, you will get paid in gold, gems, or in kind by some of these freed prisoners.
Grimm Sharpest |
Me? I just got my freedom and I don't have a loot share (unless of course I get to single combat 'Mr Moneybags, the suicidal noble a$$' on the way home)
I'll look through my gear for a wishlist just in case....
Desmond Aeros |
I haven't been tracking loot very closely. If Karnog's treasure sheet is up to date then we have about 10k.
HP: 1d8 ⇒ 8 Niiiiice
Edit: Baldwin, while we're leveling up, what do you think of the idea of me making Desmond an unchained rogue? It's pretty much a flat out buff over the regular rogue. Either way is fine, just curious.
Edit 2: Ooh, advanced talents. Things are going to get fun.
Desmond Aeros |
Sweet, I'll get to changing that. Yeah it's a nice buff, free weapon finesse and dex to damage (with one kind of weapon) and they get some crippling abilities. Plus they get to use the unchained skill feats which makes them even better skillmonkeys.
Yeah I'm sure we have more gold than that, I'm just not sure where it's recorded :P
Grimm Sharpest |
I'll have to check out unchained. That came out while i was away. Did they finally fix the rogue?
New Spells for me:
2-Surmount Affliction
4-Freedom of Movt, Gtr Invis.
Karnog Kegmeister |
Yeah I have to go through the sheet...the weapons and armor we sold in the goblin city if I remember correctly.
Have to double check the coin/treasure gained from the goblin priest fight and whatnot after.
Was gonna do that tonight at work but looks like I'll be busier at work than I thought.
Perhaps on the overnight half I can get into that.
Re: rods. Extend, reach, and maximize. Not super high priority.
Armor: straight upgrades, possibly some way to fly.
also: pearls of power may be nice.
Karnog is fairly self sufficient with spells and whatnot, so what comes his way he'll figure a way to make do.
Will certainly need to make a bulk resource purchase for Orc Town (foodstuffs, materials, etc) depending on $ available.
Desmond Aeros |
Desmond is leveled up. Crippling Strike is nasty, it does 2 strength damage on every hit that does sneak attack damage, and it stacks.

Don't kill yourself with this task. If you give a general idea, I'll tweak it with the rescued prisoners money.

I am going to drop out at this juncture. It is as good a time as any. I really do like the group, but I have become overly enamored with 5E. I am in several PbPs and my tabletop game is 5E. I wish you all the best, and thanks for the good times. Great job Baldwin!
Karnog Kegmeister |
Well, glad I looked through our treasure stuff...jipped myself out of a +2 warhammer.
Also available for grabs:
+1 grounding greataxe (can touch electrified areas without damage & +2 to hit air subtype critters /+1d6 damage to dame)
+2 morningstar
+1 frost shortsword
wand of haste (cl 5, 8 charges)
Scrolls: righteous might, animate objects, spell immunity
All told, if we sold everything but the scrolls & adamantine bolts (80 total, on Karnog's sheet for now), that's about 67,000 gp (factoring in 1/2 price on non-gem/art objects) or about 11000 each.
Karnog Kegmeister |
Ditto, sad to see you leave Malcolm. It's been a lot of fun.
Desmond Aeros |
I will miss our LG/CN banter, it was quite hilarious. Good luck to you!
Dibs on +1 frost shortsword
Wand of haste? Very nice. Also for everybody's information, I have use magic device maxed out, so I can use stuff if you guys don't want something.
Karnog Kegmeister |
Yeah, man, grab it.
We got the stuff from the hydra fight/gelatinous cube sorcerer & I don't think we ever divided up the loot before we fought Tribitz.
Lvl 10 will be nice, especially for an unchained rogue and Kalim. Advanced rogue talent & 5th lvl spells!
For Karnog:
+1 BAB
+1 Fort/Will
+1 5th lvl spell
+1 4th lvl spell
Aura of Protection (Su): At 8th level, you can emit a 30-foot aura of protection for a number of rounds per day equal to your cleric level. You and your allies within this aura gain a +1 deflection bonus to AC and resistance 5 against all elements (acid, cold, electricity, fire, and sonic). The deflection bonus increases by +1 for every four cleric levels you possess beyond 8th. At 14th level, the resistance against all elements increases to 10. These rounds do not need to be consecutive.
Dancing Weapons (Su): At 8th level, you can give a weapon touched the dancing special weapon quality for 4 rounds. You can use this ability once per day at 8th level, and an additional time per day for every four levels beyond 8th.
(Had those abilities since 8th, never used either yet...)
baldwin the merciful |
Thanks Karnog. All those items look useful, even if it's a spare weapon. Once everyone sorts out their dibbs, I'll make an couple adjustments for the rewards you'll be given.
I'm looking forward to DM'ing this game at these PbP levels. I have to say there are plenty of creatures that can challenge you or kill you in this dungeon. The primary baddie on each level is wicked.

1 person marked this as a favorite. |
Mage's Private Sanctum, without doubt. What kind of caster would you be if you couldn't lazily lounge while the fighters try to make a fire?
