As a heads up, my laptop at home is making some funky whirling sounds, and I'm not sure it's going to be alive much longer. If that happens my mapping will go down' dramatically until I repair/replace it. I have MS Surface that I can post from if the laptop dies, but it does not have maptools.

I gave full credit for battling all three hill giants. Running the sorcerer off was a good as killing him in my books, besides it lead you to this current crossroads.

Nobody will be more unkillable than my hospitaler paladin/stalwart defender. At lv 13: AC in the 40s, CMD in the 70s, lowest save around a 15 (+6 vs magic), health above 200. Couldn't do a lot of damage, but he could soak attacks directed at adjacent allies, and his tower shield could stop some AoE damage. And this was a very low-gear campaign (I had around 8k worth of stuff)

I don't have any problem having you go down these stairs but you all need to make the Will save, anyone failing refuses to go. I suggested a rest to let you all have a second chance at the save, plus resting up is a good idea. Perhaps someone can cast a Will boosting spell the next day to help along.

Karnog is plenty willing to go against evil, but if he's getting the idea that they'll be slaughtered with ease, perhaps discretion is the better part of valor.
Besides, we have plenty of other entrances/opportunities for death in the dungeon!

OK, I went weird. Kalim now has an aberrant tumor that can detach and act as a rhamphorhynchus (tiny pterasaur) familiar. Now the pseudodragon needn't be so lonely. As long as flying tumor creatures are it's bag.
