Styfis |
So long I know you're 25ft away from the soldier and the shuriken has a range of 10ft. You get so -4 for the range. And then from where your throw them the soldier has cover from Red. You get another -2.
GM West |
Styfis' flame bolt and the ghost soldier get in a couple of good licks, and Lovissa's blade connects as well, wounding the soldier. Gray Son's shuriken miss entirely, due to the long range and Red standing in the path of the thrown weapons.
Surrounded now, the soldier shouts a desperate battle cry and throws himself at the wounded Red, stabbing at him with his dagger and gashing a shallow wound across his chest.

Excuse, but I moved Gray near the soldier. Where you went was to hit my spirit warrior. I think it's what you wanted to do.
GM West |
Red and Styfis turn the surviving soldier into a pin cushion with their arrows, and the Tien staggers back against the cavern wall, collapsing to the stone floor a moment later.
Checking on Iko, Amara and the two servants the Pathfinders find them all to be alive, but unconscious. With a little healing from Arin, all four are roused and are delighted to find themselves alive, though news of the troops overrunning the lighthouse causes them some concern. Still, it is likely they will be safe here for a bit, and Iko Tsuneo confirms that help is on the way.
Looking over the body of the fallen samurai, Iko identifies the Tien as Shimazi, a former student of his that the thought had been killed years ago. "I regret that my own personal history has brought danger to Amara Li and to you all as well. The bravery and honor you have all displayed has served to confirm your good intentions in this matter, and so I will agree to an alliance between our two groups."
A half-hour later, four soldiers arrive by way of the passage leading out to the water, and Iko Tsuneo greets them warmly. The Kirin troops report that they have re-captured the island and are in the process of hunting down the last few stragglers of the Golden League still hiding in the hills outside.
Amara is grateful for the actions of the Pathfinders, assuring them that without their help, the alliance between the Pathfinder Society and the Way of the Kirin would never have come to fruition. Returning to the lighthouse, which now nearly stands in ruins, Iko speaks a few parting words with Amara and departs with his men. Amara arranges for a magical return trip to Absalom and before the night is out the Pathfinders are back home with another successful mission under their belts!
THE END
Arin Qualnoh |
Well, that was tense. I'm glad he valued our assistance, he could have just as easily blamed our meeting with them as a target drawing the attack! All's well that ends well.
Lovissa Halenbane |
"Well done, my friends! And now, to the nearest tavern! A battle that's gone as well as this deserves to be celebrated. Absalom will hear of our exploits!"
