Sho is more then happy to be out of the house and though the gruesome sight of the dead priest would curdle most normal people's insides, Sho is more then just a mere person.
"What a way to go." He mutters.
"Someone hates people who can cast spells?" noting that the Priest and Druid could have one thing in common..

I have no idea what that is but I cold try speaking to it." He comments.
"Hello?" in Sylvan.
Eamon Valda

Some kind of plant construct? What's it trying to say? Why is it smashing pumpkins? It's pointing at itself and then up? Are those fangs it's trying to represent? maybe it's trying to say there's a bigger meaner version of it wondering about. But, what is it how? Why would it they.. murder prominent members of the community? Realizing both men murdered had a divine connection, Eamon begins to fear a little. Fear quickly turns to anger. You better learn to speak better little squash head or those Pumpkins won't be the only goard smashes Eamon draws his sword. intimidate: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

The little gourd man stares at Sho for a moment.
Kyunjiro

Kyunjiro says some words in Sylvan, and tries to reason with the creature, NOT to intimidate it like Eamon.
| GM Blake |
The gourd creature replies to Kyunjiro in Sylvan, appearing to be relieved that he can communicate in words rather than pantomime. "Yes! The evil pumpkin spirits killed good man, Elm. Why? Why would they do this? Evil! I try to kill them before they rise, but I am small, and too slow. Elm was good! Horrible, evil pumpkin spirits!"
Diplomacy to calm him down by someone who can speak Sylvan with a +2 bonus.

"Don't worry little gourd man! We'll probably find the killer pumpkin before it gets you!"
At this the gourd pauses in shock and then continues its gesticulating, as frantic as before.
"Hmm, it's not working. Sho, want to give it a try?"
Eamon Valda

Eamon sheaths his sword as his friends begin to speak to the creature in some strange language satisfied the creature presents no danger; Eamon follows Goran's lead and cast guidance on Sho . May Iomedea guide your words.

To the Gourd man.
"This one does indeed speaks your tongue and would ask your honored name? Do come down for we are here to help and if you would please tell us what you know, this one's companion's I'm sure is more then happy to help vanquish this evil spirit." as Sho speaks in his calm voice
Kyunjiro
|
"Good job, Sho. For some reason I could not calm him down... And Eamon! He was not attacking you, why should we threaten him!? Please, do not do that, It did NOT help us." Kyunjiro scolds Eamon. (In common)

He shouts his own warning as a devilish carved face appears on the pumpkin next to Sho, rising up on a body of tangled rotting vines. The jack o' lantern lets out a chilling laugh as a flame blazes to life within it.

The way the site has been acting, I'm going to be a bit proactive in posting. Yelek's surprise round action can't change what the monsters are going to do, so I'll press along.
Jagged, mouth-like tears appear on both the bouncing gourds, and they each spit a seed. One rings off of Goran's armor like a shot into a spittoon while the other flies well over Greeda and Yelek's heads, whichever of you it was aiming at.

A man-high wave of soil flies into the air in the wake of Yelek's strike, but when the dust settles, it appears that he has only managed to cleave a hole in the ground (the size of a halfling's grave). Feather Seed leaps in excitement, crying out in Sylvan, "Yes! Good job! You smashed evil spirits! Come! Follow Feather Seed to place of evil! You smash more?"
Sho Mikazuki

"This one asks that you hold a moment Feather Seed." Sho cautions as he turns to his companions.
"This one is told by our new friend, Feather Seed, that he intends to bring us to this den of evil. Would you like to assist?"
Eamon Valda

Eamon scowls at the little thing and spits out, How do you know it won't lead us to another ambush? Eamon kicks a pumpkin then begins to curse as it sticks to his foot, racking#%* , frac#*^king,! I mean he could be the boss of the whole bunch! Eamon points his sword at Featherseed and then Sho, How do you know its not lying Sho? Why do trust this little plant creature? Eamon looks to the others for support.

Yes, ready to kill these evil pumpkins!
Kyunjiro starts following Feather Seed.
Is Kyunjiro shaken anymore?
Sho Mikazuki
|
Sho sighs as Eamon's actually points his weapon at him.
"This one sees no other reason to distrust our guide, If we all die then you can tell us so in the afterlife."
Turning to Feather seed, he once more speaks in Sylvan.
"This one apologises for his companion but he feels that this might be a trap. This one and his other companions are ready to follow. Could you tell us what awaits us there?"
Eamon Valda
|
Look at it this way...if it is a trap, we go in prepared. If not, no big deal. Being wary is fine, but overly suspicious us a but much. Just keep your wits and we will be fine. Is everybody good to go?
Eamon struggles to control his growing temper, Oh really? Just how do you propose we prepare Goran? Eamon throws his hands up in the air, We were certainly prepared for them in this encounter! I understand your desire to solve this mystery but, following a creature we just encountered and trusting it's intentions fully after having just been ambushed seems foolhardy! Eamon seems exhausted at having to point out the obvious: Another group of dolts I'm assigned to? Is the society that desperate to fill it's ranks?
Eamon drops his shoulders resigned to follow fools. I'll accompany the group. But, I want it noted, I objected to this coarse of action without further interrogation of the squash head creature. Furthermore, I intend to note my objection in my report should we survive this mission. *tsk* Eamon sheathes his sword and trails the group keeping a few feet back in order to avoid their judging stares.
