"Tommy?" Thomas words silently, looking askance at Kate before switching and gazing at Crackerjack with simple disbelief.
"And to where does a bank transport money? Methinks you try too hard. A bank must needs have cash reserves aplenty on hand at day's start--it is not like some ice cream shop that gradually hauls in cash as the day goes along and then must needs dispense with it and day's end."
He turns to Kate. "Long have I waited for vengeance against so odious a place, and you all may consider it a boon that I forgo taking it at high noon so that we might silence the lives of the evil-doers that are employed there.
Hence I will content myself with all their potable wealth.
I am content. When do we start?"

Crackerjack, Jonathan Crayke |

"And to where does a bank transport money? Methinks you try too hard. A bank must needs have cash reserves aplenty on hand at day's start--it is not like some ice cream shop that gradually hauls in cash as the day goes along and then must needs dispense with it and day's end."
"Banks are not mere repositories of currency." Crackerjack sneers. "They transport large trucks of cash and valuables to all manner of businesses throughout the week; but usually not daily. The actual wealth kept in a bank vault on any given day could be a large haul...or a pittance."
Hence why large armored trucks do not just BRING cash to banks, they also go AWAY with it.

Kat sighed and held back throwing the bottle at Jack, "We don't NEED hostages if we aren't caught. I believe an invisible intangible ghost man and a teleporting giant," She motioned to the pair with her hands loudly. "Paired with... arguably two of the greatest minds I know... who are still alive." They swiveled over to Jack and Professor Paradigm, "Can get into a bank and keep it quiet."
She scoffed and kicked back in the chair throwing her feet onto the table with a thud, "Also I make up my lacking faculties by being a good time, and it's the basis of a plan, not a catch all. I've run with that kind of attitude before, and it does not work especially with how little info we've got.But if we can get Enkidu inside the vault he can stow away in their next shipment and then we'll be able to hit it from the inside."
She waved it off and got back to where she wanted to go. "But my point with all that was really that we need to actually speak up about our ideas. Not just toss out some and not discuss." She tilted the bottle back again and pondered for a bit before continuing not so under her breath, "Not gonna lie stealing an entire bank vault does sound pretty badass. But i don't know any supers that could'a done that except like... the BIG ones before the attack, and we're not exactly swimming in cash to buy or build us a doom machine."
Her head popped up and she groaned with a frown, "I may have... one idea of who we could call on but... no.. no.. NO forget that we can do this on our own. Paradigm can you and Jack brainstorm some way to get the vault out whole. While everyone else reaches out to their contacts or does in-person recon so we know what we're up against? I can guarantee we aren't the first to try and rob this bank as punishment for it's stupid name alone." Her eyes glanced at the clock, "I may be able to find some folks to squeeze info out of tonight if I can get downtown, there's another underground thing happening I think... What day of the week is it?"

Professor Paradigm |

Paradigm ponders Kate's ideas for a moment. "It would be more feasible to bring the entire vault out, but the question is, where to put it?" He looks at Jack and raises a non-existent eyebrow. "Perhaps if we boost Hrungir's teleportation ability, Thomas can be a beacon from the inside. Hrungrir can simply use our boosts to connect with Thomas and the vault and bring it to wherever we wish. The only caveat to that is that I am unaware of how my nanomachines will affect his divine physiology."

Crackerjack, Jonathan Crayke |

"Give me time to tinker. Perhaps I could create a shrink ray capsule for it. It would gives us some extra time to figure out the logistics of storing a bank vault in any case."

![]() |

"Ummmmm, do we really need t' steal the whole vault?
I mean, if we just go in and take the money they'll be like 'huh. someone stole our money. It could've been anyone.'
But if we take the whole gosh-darn vault, they're gonna be all
'OH MY FREEKING GAWD A SUPER-POWERED PEOPLE TOOK THE WHOLE VAULT SUMEONE TELL THE V'SORI A SUPER IS STILL ALIVE!!12!'
Soooo, mebbe if I just walk into the vault and smash the camera and then Hrungir teleports more of us in and then we leave...mebbe that's good too?" Tom says.

Crackerjack, Jonathan Crayke |

'OH MY FREEKING GAWD A SUPER-POWERED PEOPLE TOOK THE WHOLE VAULT SUMEONE TELL THE V'SORI A SUPER IS STILL ALIVE!!12!' Tom says.
Crackerjack looks at Tom like he's a complete idiot.
"Yes, that's rather the whole point, Ghost Man."

Enkїdu |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Enkidu, in his real pasty-white and rather emaciated teenage form, piped up from where he has been lounging on a couch in the background. A bag of Cool-Ranch doritos is open on his stomach, with the usual amount of teenage crumbs and detritus surrounding him.
"It's going to take anyone investigating this crime about 0.3 seconds to figure out that supers are to blame. I agree stealing the whole vault has a bit of flair to it, but unless the mustache twirling, nafarious laughter kind of caper is what we're going for, why don't we just keep it simple and take the valuables. If you want to get your machinations on, we should be stealing the Hoover Dam, or the letter 'W'. If we want cash and resources, I say we just steal cash and resources."

Crackerjack, Jonathan Crayke |

Crackerjack sighs.
"There's more time for such activities later. In the meantime we need to PRACTICE these kinds of crimes or you cretins will never get the proper mindset down. The first step to staying ahead of pursuit is to be unpredictable, and wildly popular with the locals. Emptying a vault is a robbery; stealing a vault is a HEIST."
"The flash is not some mere affectation or optional component, it is the vital essence of crime. A 'caper', as you put it, should serve more than one purpose. We are the forefront of a rebellion, are we not? And so, we serve as an example to those beneath us."
"The common folk have been too used to 'heroes' saving them for too long; as there are none, we must GIVE them some. The audacity to perform a heist such as this under the noses of our alien overlords makes US their new heroes, and as such makes it more likely they'll follow us to their dooms when we need them to later."

-- Dark Angel -- |

Angel absently runs her finger along the edge of her blade. Being magical, it never needed to be honed and was always sharp, but she liked to check it once in a while anyway.
"I still fail to understand the value of this exercise. We should be battling the V'Sori, not stealing. This is not the behavior of a warrior."

Enkїdu |

Enkidu rolls his eyes and shifts into a disturbingly human version of Snidely Whiplash. Speaking in a nasally voice, he strokes his long mustache and says, "If you want to strike a REAL blow against them, you should kidnap the Visori overlord's girlfriend and tie her to the railway tracks."
Shifting back into himself he adds, "But seriously, if you want to do something useful for the insurgentsy, why are we talking about hitting a bank at all? I doubt the alien army occupying our planet is overly concerned about their 401k's. The populous you suposedly want to inspire would be hurt when their insurence rates increase and their interest drops."
"If we're robbing a bank, it's because we're bad guys and it is a quick way to get money. If you want to inspire the populous we should be hitting a military target. A weapons depot would be a great target. Even if we dont need the arms, I'm sure we can find people who can put them to good use; those folks living in the tunnels under the city for instance. If we want the resistance to spread, giving the common man a way to strike back sounds more useful than stealing their investments. If every Tom, Dick, and Harry in Star City had the explosives they needed to blow up transports, sink ships, sabotage bridges and communication relays, things might actually start getting troublesome for the V'sori."

Crackerjack, Jonathan Crayke |

Crackerjack rolls his eyes right back and huffs in irritation.
"If you're not going to pay attention, it's better not to respond at all. At least that way you're not wasting everyone's time. We agreed on a bank heist because it was a low risk target to work our way up to something bigger; do you not remember that part of the conversation from less than five minutes ago?"

Enkїdu |

"I remember it just fine, Boris; do you? I believe you just said something about choosing low risk target. Perhaps you can answer a question for me then and educate this niave little half-breed: what is the point of doing a low risk trial run if you deliberately make it much more complicated than it needs to be?"

Crackerjack, Jonathan Crayke |

"Yes. Low risk means more margin for error. Lower defenses. All around lower risk. Which means it is the perfect testing ground for more complex maneuvers. The punishment for failure is lower."

Crackerjack, Jonathan Crayke |

"Where is the contradiction? The maneuver adds additional complexity but no extra risk. It is entirely beneficial."
"No wonder this rebellion is getting nowhere if even the mere thought of accomplishing anything of worth sends you running scared."

Enkїdu |

Benificial eh? Because we have an urgeant need for an empty vault? Let me ask you, how many times have you seen me running scared? You're pretty new to this crew, but ask around if you want to compare body count. And for the record my suggestion was to hit something actually important if you want to make an impression. I am fine with hitting something small if you want a dry run, but I dont see the point expanding resources just so we can help you fulfill some machiavellian fantasy. I'm suggesting you either start acting like a professional, or just go all in and invest in mustache wax and monocles; maybe get a white persian cat while you're at it. That should intimidate the V'sori right off our planet."

Kathrine 'Hellion' Mordonus |

You think saturday would be a good night for an underground anti-fin rally-rave XD
Kat is surprised by the tiny emaciated Enkidu, "Wow you are just a kid aren'tcha. What in the nine hells are you doing running the big leagues... ya know what don't answer i'm sure you learned how to gut people out of necessity." she sits for several minutes as the gang banter back and forth about what they should do and why and blah blah blah
She stood up once again, "Alright boys please stop with the arguing. God you all need a drink. Okay it's very clear we aren't sold completely on this bank thing... or at least some of us aren't. So how about you all keep planning about how to steal a s*#+-load of valuables. And I go find our big score, i can usually pick up a lot of secrets, drinks turning loose lips and all. But also keep in mind as Thomas said the money isnt the most important part of this heist, it's the lockboxes which could contain information... of which we are sorely lacking!"
Her eyes fell shut for a moment before the violet embers reappeared and she turned towards her bunk. "But if instead you all think you need a bit off from Villainy you are more than welcome to come with."

Enkїdu |

Enkidu laughs at Kat's initial comment, "Dollface, I AM the big boys."
He gives her a very suggestive wink.
"Don't let the brittle bones fool ya; I'm 98 lbs of emaciated fury!"
He finishes off his comment with another tortilla chip, crunching it loudly. Whatever his issues, this kids seems to have no trouble poking a little fun at himself.

Professor Paradigm |

Rolling his eyes as the argument commences, Paradigm decides he has better things to do with his valuable time. Visualizing a computer screen in his mind's eye, he starts accessing the local area network to tie into the Internet. He then gets to work hunting down schematics and blueprints of the bank and the vault the money will be contained in. Whatever they were going to do, walking in blind was never a good idea.
SuperSorcery Interface Code Breaker: 1d10 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 61d6 - 2 + 1d6 ⇒ (6) - 2 + (2) = 6
GM, In one of my books that I used to create Paradigm, it said that all my SuperSorcery rolls were at -2, but in the necessary evil book and another version of the supers companion, the -2 isn't there. Which version are we using?

Kathrine 'Hellion' Mordonus |

Is Enkidu Joker's(Mass Effect) son?
Kat shakes her head at Enkidu, "I bet, and i'm a half-demon with daddy issues. Wait that's... not like that." she laughs and waves it off. Then looked to the others Have these people ever had any real team bonding after a few moments of thought she turned back to the kid on the couch deciding to put changing for a 'Much' later in the day event on hold. "But seriously how do you like that whole shape-shifting, thing I don't think I even heard how you got your powers, just sorta something you've got or were you some kind of super experiment gone rogue?" She folded her arms awaiting an amusing tale.
I figure the above is happening a little in flex time, by above i mean the invitation to the night out cause no one starts that kind of thing at noon... although it'd be the least expected time for someone looking for illicit activity *hmm intensifies* Also did everyone Icly pitch their heists or was that just discussion ooc stuff?

![]() |

Wow, 15 posts. Must be something big going on. =3
Tom just stares at Crackerjack as he seems to sink further and further in to hypocrisy. "I can't believe I'm going to say this but Enkidu has a point here."
He lets that sink in for a minute. "Yes, the -main- goal is to take stuff. But, no, no one said that a secondary goal was to poke our finger in the V'Sori's eye. Hence we ARE NOT STEALING A BANK VAULT. Sure, it'd be cool, but, no, I don't think anyone would be inspired, that would, indeed, take a military base, or somesuch.
Okay, you go think about how you can steal the letter W," he chuckles. That was funny. "Imma go get some money."

![]() |

Tom turns to Enkidu and Hrungir the Destined. "Okay, new plan. I walk into a vault. I stay invisible and take out any internal cameras. Then I call you, Hrungir, and you 'port in.
Then you port out, grab the kid, and port back in.
Between the three of us we should be able to overcome any locks in our way as we take all the things.
Then we all leave the way we came.
Sound good?
After we have all of the dollars we can buy plastique explosive for every kid on ever street corner. Just like dad wanted."
At the mention of his dad there's a terror-filled shriek from the kitchen and the sound of a knife stabbing something. "I'm okay," is heard from an old lady's voice from that direction.

Crackerjack, Jonathan Crayke |

Crackrjack shrugs.
"If there's no greater purpose to this than simply grabbing fistfuls of cash we hardly need, I have no interest. Do what you will." he goes off to do something else while the Tom and Hrungir show plays out.

![]() |

"Looks like, Enkidu. I guess if anything is gonna happen, -we'll- have to make it happen."
Seeing the giant's complete lack of response despite being a key in his plan, Tom goes up and waves a hand in front of Hrungir's face.
"Uh hello?" He snaps his fingers. "Is this thing on? HEY! TELEPORTO GUY-O HRUNGIRRRRRRRR??! YOU WANNA HELP US MAKE-A DA MONEY? PORT-O INTO BANK-O?!?" he shouts, wondering what he has to do to get the thing's attention.

Professor Paradigm |

Got it GM. Paradigm has already started his research on the bank, but he is willing to find something else to do with his time, his main target is the museum.

GM_ZenFox42 |

Paradigm - museum? What museum? You're the only one to have mentioned a museum, and only once at that (Sept 19th)!
ALL - should I call for a player vote between the bank heist and the military target? I didn't expect the PC's to be so divided about this (altho it has been some excellent role-playing!)...

Kathrine 'Hellion' Mordonus |

I figured we could do the bank as a build up to the museum, and to see how we work together when heisting, then hit the museum. And then head to the military base and score some loot. Oh also might be a bit between posts, work just went to 13 on 1 off and says we'll be doing that till the end of the year, so my posts'll be short but still here.

Storm Dragon |

The original idea as laid out in discussion was to hit 3 targets; a bank to warm up, a museum for something more complex, and then a military or medical installation for certain equipment to help with Enkidu's condition.

Professor Paradigm |

In This post, you had asked us to create a heist in the world. Two replies later, I mentioned the museum..

Kathrine 'Hellion' Mordonus |

Kathrine sighs at the in-fighting. "Well if things go south let us know Thomas." she looked around and saw the entertainment center, "Ooh hey guys we can do Karaoke until they mess things up. Who wants in i've got a machine upstairs."
She really wasn't asking anyone for their permission either, this team needed something to do together that wasn't following orders of a armored individual who shall not be named and she would drag people in if she needed to.

GM_ZenFox42 |

So, Thomas, Hrungir, Dark Angel, and Enkidu (and anyone else who *wants* to go along) - is everyone ok with Thomas' last plan :
I walk into a vault. I stay invisible and take out any internal cameras. Then I call you, Hrungir, and you 'port in.
Then you port out, grab Enkidu, and port back in.
Between the three of us we should be able to overcome any locks in our way as we take all the things.

Paradigm - sorry, don't know how I missed that!

Kathrine 'Hellion' Mordonus |

Kat took several minutes in her room before she came out in her outfit, mask on her belt, and an archaic machine in her hands with a bundle of cords, cheap microphones, and a stack of ancient devices known as compact discs. "Well if everyone but our crackpot investigation experts are going are you sure you don't want an escape vehicle on hand? If not I suppose we shouldn't put all our eggs in the same basket, I'll go after one of those trucks. Also are you really going to go rob this place at..." her head swivels to the clock. "nine in the morning?"
She set the machine down next to the entertainment center with great care, "Like we don't even have time for one song?" The half-breeds' eyes gave Thomas that human attempting a puppy look, though Enkidu would likely have far more success comparatively.
Kat'll tag along if Thomas thinks they'll need her, otherwise she's gonna try for a bank truck incase the normal heist doesnt work out, and also maybe provide distraction if it does.
