Professor Paradigm
Paradigm hands Thomas a crystal with the schematics of the bank and its vault. "This should help. Good fortune on your journey."
He then looks to Kat and her antique musical machine. Sighing, he decides that it is better to work with a team that respects you than one that does not. Calling on his powers, a crystalline ball floats down from the ceiling and flashing lights of various colors shine in all directions. "This should help set the mood, for at least one song."

Anyone who wants to can party the day away, but in the middle of the night...
Thomas, Hrungir, Dark Angel and Enkidu (Kathrine can join if she wants to) make their way to the bank. You are observing it from a half a block away. What do you do first?
I *hate* leaving half the party out of this, but that's how the role-playing went. I'll try to make it as fast as possible. Please don't lose interest!
-- Dark Angel --
Angel attends the party but does not join in the festivities. Hers is a mission of observation. She understands the idea behind karaoke, but not the need to celebrate a job that has not yet been accomplished. Even when she was mortal, she never cared much for singing in front of an audience.

"Why yes, Kat, thank you. I -would- like you in on this. Every good plan requires a contingency force to react to the unexpected. If you could hang out casually at some place a block or two away--close enough to come when needed, but far enough away for plausible deniability--that would be lovely, thank you.
Some thing, Dark Angel. Just hover around and listen for the sound of someone screaming.
In the meantime, I have something to attend to."
Thomas leaves and buys a can of normal black spray paint and a couple of rulers.

'Okay, stay here and wait for me on the comms," Thomas states as he checks out of reality and, unseen and unfelt, flies to the place where Paradigm's crystal shows the most interesting place to be.
Just to be safe he Chameleons into the form of the horrible loan officer that denied them so long ago. It matters not if she still works here or not. If she doesn't then all they'll see is a disgruntled ex-employee. Which is a way whole bunch more betterer.

Gonna keep this ball rolling. If Tom gets into the vault unhindered:
Once he enters the vault, he stands under the camera, takes out two rulers, and sticks them -in- the camera.

Looking to Paradigm and laughs pointing to the glowing ball, "I guess disco didn't die? I think i've got some Bee Gees in here." She dug through the discs before pulling out a particularly old one and feeding it into the machine. A loading circle appeared and then a list of the songs on it showed up. "Go on pick what'cha want I've got all kinds of oldies, it's all they let us kids listen to back at Sif."
After anyone else went and sang a song to which Kat sat back and listened to intently she gave her own passionate rendition of 'Carry On Wayward Son'. Though her attitude and devotion to getting Everyone to participate during the whole event suggests it isn't quite as simple as pre-celebrating.
Afterwards or simply in response to Thomas
"Alright I'll keep the engine warm, if anything I'll see if I can't cause a bit of chaos to keep the boys in blue busy, wonder if they've gotten back into the groove with the heroes gone."
Kathrine went to talk to Crackerjack and Paradigm, "You sure you boys don't wanna tag along in the Villainy Van with me? We can get burgers after or whatever you want Tom's treat."
Depending on their answer she'd drive out with whoever wished to pile in or by herself.
Parking three blocks from the bank, in an alleyway that wasn't too traversed. Hellion killed the engine and clambered into the back to sell the impression that she was just stopping for the night. "Alright Mr. Thomas i'm a few blocks away across from a SuperBucks. Is it just me or does their coffee taste like garbage? Either way I'll watch for the blue bloods let me know if things start sliding down the wall."
Do we have the stats on the Van? I think it was a van lol that you guys stole ages ago. Also let me know if i need to roll for anything.

Tom gets into the vault no problem. When he finally materializes, the two rulers do too, and when their molecules try to occupy the same space as the cameras, they melt down.
This is creative license only, I won't allow you to stick an intangible sword into someone and materialize to avoid doing damage to yourself.
What next?
Hrungir the Destined
Hrungir waits and when called upon will use the Bifrost to enter the Vault.

Earlier, for RP purposes
Paradigm attempts to sing a few songs during the party, mostly sticking to the 70s era, Stayin Alive. Get Down Tonight and Play That Funky Music being among his best. When Kat asks him to go along, he politely shakes his head. "I actually enjoyed this little distraction, but I must decline to continue it further. The other boys have it well in hand and I need to focus on studying the museum's security protocols. I will be here when all of you return." With that he heads towards what passes for his study area.

Thomas sighs when he sees the rules melt. 'Figures', he thinks.
'Of course, that's why I brought the spray paint.'
He takes the paint out and thoroughly sprays all visible surface of the camera.
Then he calls in Hrungir and Enkidu, telling them of his progress.
'Okay, kid, do your thing,' he thinks over their link.
Can we get a description here? Are there piles of phat lewts? Rows and rows of security boxes? Signs pointing to stolen nazi diamonds?
Enkїdu
As soon as Hrungir bifrosts the two in, Enkidu takes a step forward and sizes up the room. Seeing the rows and rows of safety deposit boxes on either side of the chamber, he shifts into a massively muscled grizzly bear. Like all his forms, the bear has patches of rough skin and scales, bones that protrude past the ends of his joints like some sort or dire-beast, and teeth and claws that are disproportionately large for his size.
Reaching an arm out to either side of the room, he takes those claws down each wall of boxes, ripping the steel like claws through drywall, instead of the hardened steel they really are.
Then shifting instead into a large gorilla, he picks up the reinforced duffle brought along fun just such a purpose and starts emptying the boxes into the bag, tossing the empties haphazardly to the side.

I'm guessing the communicators arent open all the time, cause kat would 100% ask if enkidu just went full hulk on the place. Also should i roll a notice or a streetwise to see any trouble coming/know a good escape vector?
"How's it coming along in their Tommy boy?"

oh no DX
Katherine sits checking her handgun in the back of the van idly checking her current magazine. And waiting for a response from Thomas pretty certain that they were getting along fine without her. But pretty psyched to be a part of a bank heist... sort of.
Kathrine 'Hellion' Mordonus
Oh i should mention kat gets half penalty from darkness due to her low-light vision, was tempted to pick up infra with the latest points to negate entirely and to see laser trip wires and such but i think it's too late to change till the mission is over Dx

A grin like a 4 year old boy on Christmas splits Thomas' weary face. After finding only security boxes in the first one he had begun to worry that there wouldn't be a good find, ahhh, but here HERE! was something of note.
His head whips around, looking for the camera. If he finds one, he blasts it (or them, if more than one) with an equally generous blast.
Notice!: 1d6 ⇒ 5
WILD Notice!: 1d6 ⇒ 5
That done...Avarice without peer STREAKS through Thomas' being as he does a quick scan of the great big piles and piles of money, taking a mental inventory the way only a psychopathic cannibal can.
Notice!: 1d6 ⇒ 5
WILD Notice!: 1d6 ⇒ 5
Okay that...is actually kinda creepy.
Quickly he gets a mental calculation...he can carry just over 9000 bills without exerting himself. Yep. Checked.
He takes a stock of how many bags he has, and how many he'll need...for his personal collection.
His idea is to:
Start filling bags.
When they are full he takes two of them out, huffing, to the others, and he'll say (quite convincingly) "Got it! Now let's get out of here!"
But of course he's not leaving. He's coming back here to pick up -his share- of the full bags, then heading back to base and mom's room.
GM_ZenFox42
Hrungir, please don't make the roll until all PC's are actually ready to go. At PbP speeds, it could be a week IRL before that roll is needed. ;)
Is Enkidu the only one stuffing bags with the contents of the safe-deposit boxes? That'll take about 5-10 minutes.

Tom had to be honest with himself. If there was "only" three million here, he'd pawn off one mil onto the others and claim the rest for himself. That was the plan all along. They'd have a bone to chew on and he'd have -real- money.
But this?
This was like nothing he'd _ever_ imagined. He'd seen money like this destroy more lives than uplift.
Also, there was no way he could haul the majority of this out on his own.
Okay, sure, there were times to be selfish. That's most of the time, no one was debating that.
But being selfish here would allow these bastards to NOT be taken for everything that they're worth. And he...he just couldn't live with himself if that happened.
Priorities means sometimes you gotta do the most harm to the most people, even if that means doing the right thing. No matter how much that may hurt.
After only a moment Tom's ephemeral head peaks out of the wall. 'Uh, Hrungir? Would you mind popping inside here? I might be able to handle this on my own, but I sure could use a hand right now.
Good job, Enkidu, keep that up. We'll be right back.'
Thomas Roland
|
Also, his inner brain was having its own debate. We was all for 'all for one' and all that. But alone, with himself, his personal greed and avarice gripped him in a vice-like grip. Even it was ten million he'd keep something for himself...just because he could.
He got out his sacks, and put $200 K into two sacks each. Then he put $100 K into a third sack, and the remaining $500 K into a fourth sack.
Thomas pops out of the vault and drops 2 bags at Hrungir's feet. 'Okay, whew,' he says over their internal mental link. 'Each of those should have about TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND in them EACH. WOW!
Mind you I can't carry this much. I put the rest of the small bills into another sack, that'll round up this haul to I reckon half a mil. I admit I expected a lot less to be in here...I only thought they'd have about 50 grand laying around. No, I didn't tell you because I didn't know, and that would still be a -lot- of money, so I'm happy that we're walking away with 10 times that amount.
Okay, I've got all I can carry so when you're done, just 'port back to base, yeah?
Great. Byyyyyyyyyyyyy-eeeee!'
Tom pops back into the vault, and, still Invisible, turns substantial,
1d10 ⇒ 7
1d6 ⇒ 1
and hefts his two bags.
He then turns back Insubstantial,
1d10 ⇒ 6
1d6 ⇒ 4
and flies back to base. He doesn't stop until he's in his mom's room.
"Hey mom," he whispers in their special way, "I gotta hide something here."
"That's fine deery. I gather its not another unfortunate soul that'll need fava beans and a nice chianti? Just put it in my panty drawer."
Thomas was surprised at just how much underwear his mom had, but the drawer still had enough room for $500K.
He picks up his last bag and leaves, flying to the main room to but his bag with $100 K on the table, ever the conquering hero.
Kathrine 'Hellion' Mordonus
Hellion perks up, holstering her gun and clambering to the drivers seat again she lets her hand hover over the ignition. "Do you think we've been found out? Or are we in the clear.... are you on three clear Angel dont let them see ya."
She was a bit excited considering the unflinching holy avenger decided it was worth bringing up the vessel. The half-breed secretly wished for a large vessel. If they could get their hands on either it or any of the hardware it could be lucrative. "Let ne know if you need a pick up." she kept her eyes up while awaiting a response.
-- Dark Angel --
If there is any cloud cover, Angel moves into the clouds to avoid being in their line of sight. If not, she will duck down behind the shadow of the buildings. "It is difficult to say whether they know of us... yet." Angel replied into the comms.
Thomas Roland
|
"Hm, what's that?" Thomas chirps in response.
Inwardly he groans before lowering his feet from the table and sighing in resignation that he probably won't get to finish his bowl of ice cream.
He resumes being Invisible and Intangible and starts Flying back to the bank.

Hellion fires up the van "Angel get a block or so away, meet me on 12th street. Enkidu, Hrungir have you guys gotten free yet? If you didn't hear the lovely Angel you've got incoming."
i feel that hrungnir would also be filling the bags, unless it's beneath him to help his allies with a task?
Kathrine 'Hellion' Mordonus
Kat stopped near Angel and unlocked the door. "Door's open Angel, let's go." she looked up to see if she could spot the alien vessel.
"Would it be worth us getting the attention of that ship or should we just get outta dodge guys cause i'm sure if they are over the bank they'd think a mysterious van peeling off into the night a might fine target for their wrath." she asked through the comms before going over the dials of the vehicle. "Though i'm gonna be honest I dunno if this old thing can outrun or out manuver a v'sori cruiser... even low grade. If you guys scored some serious loot though I bet I could make something pretty wicked... or well, Paradigm and CJ can make something and I can put it under the hood."
