I need to apologize for not posting for the last while, and this bit of full disclosure will hopefully give you a feeling of where I'm at. About 4 months ago, we had an update of a critical software, that was my project, go horribly bad, and it got me put on a performance review. 90% of the time this leads to the termination of the person on it. So for the last 4 months, I've been working with my nose to the grindstone, most of the time putting in 50+ hour workweeks, which left me not doing much of anything else. Fortunately, that 4 months is up, and I find myself in the 10% that kept their job. You should see an uptick in my regularity at this point now that that pressure and stress is eliminated. The review had been lessened and put back in place a few times (more because of HR issues than my performance), which is why I'd given optimistic posts here about things lightening up, but then fell back to being irregular. The actual sign off on that PR came yesterday, with my manager actually letting me shred a paper copy of it ;).
Thanks again for the patience, I know it's been a bit of a struggle for you all as well.
Taking this to the discussion thread so others may join in.
Quote from Garrath:
Actually it would be +16, not +17, Furious Focus would be down since he already took a swing this round. Everything else is still there BAB+STR+Power Attack+Reckless Abandon+Giant Slayer+weapon enchantment.(7+5-2+2+1+3) The next round's attacks.
Rule Attack of Opportunity:
An attack of opportunity is a single melee attack, and most characters can only make one per round. You don’t have to make an attack of opportunity if you don’t want to. You make your attack of opportunity at your normal attack bonus, even if you’ve already attacked in the round.
Rule Normal attack Bonus:
Your attack bonus with a melee weapon is:
Base attack bonus + Strength modifier + size modifier
As I understand the rule you don't get feat related modifications. You would get magic weapon modification.
However, I will admit I am not fully certain about this, as I have played it both ways in the past. So any additional input would be welcome.
The AoO occurs with the same modifications as the previous attack.
So Garrath would get all the bonuses. It is too bad that this is not spelled out in the rule under AoO.
Power Attack is like an on/off switch. Once you turn it on, it is on until you turn it off.
Cleric of Sarenrae Init +4; Perc +4 AC 23 T 13, FF 21 Fort +9, Ref +5, Will +11 5/5 Channel 5d6
Furious Focus is different from power att. However it does work with it. But it remove the power att penalty to the first att made in the round as long as the character is use two hands on one weapon.
Yeesh, get all that AOO out of the way and then the next strikes roll a 1 and a 2?? All I have to say is Brandark better have some big rolls coming up :P
Level up:
Barbarian
Ability score increase: Str
Rage Ability: +1 DR (total of 5 when raging)
skills:
+1 to acrobatics (total roll +11 when not raging)
+1 to Intimidate (total roll +9)
+1 to perception (total roll +13)
+1 to survival (total roll +13)
+1 to use magic device (total roll +7)
Stone (AC22 68/68) Raised
Elektra (AC13 42/42) Raised
Garrath (AC18 (77/77) What is your base HPs now?
Flynn (AC19 47/47) Raised
Brandark (AC21/25G 55/55)
The issue is opportunity. Magnimar is the only city in the region that would likely have trained gryphons for sale. Capturing and taming one in the wild would be a side adventure in and of itself. Brandark is in the midst of an adventure that will likely keep him from either Magnimar or a hunt through the end of the current AP. Having said that, this is only the 3rd of 6 APs. So, you would have it for a large part of the future adventures, just not immediately.

Well, I can put it off, for one of my other planned feats. But I can only put it off for the 1 level.
Unless I take it as one of the class I was looking at retraining into (Samurai), and then take the fighter class levels (feats needed) starting next level

The intention of the fighter levels, is to get me the feats Monsterous Mount, and Monsterous Mount mastery, and boon companion as fast as I can, without hurting my progression to bad.
There are a couple of other ones that I am looking at, but that was the intention of the fighter levels.
I tried to do it with remaining in Cavalier / Samurai, and it just doesn't get feats fast enough. :(
As I said, any other suggestions, or should I go with the planned, and just push off the mount feats until next level, and just take the boon companion now ?
