Throwing out an idea for everyone. We all get busy from time to time. But to keep game play going to a certain degree, if over 24 hours have past and four of five have posted, I may go ahead and move game play forward without the actions of the fifth. I just did this in the Boar Hunt. Obviously the situation may dictate the course of action.
As an example, let's say in a combat situation the party may be hurt, and Lyr has not had an opportunity to post, we may need to wait before continuing game play. But if the end result is not detrimental to the party, I may move it forward.
I think in some cases, you should be able to judge actions and take them too, Mazra. Garrath, for instance, in most combat situations is going to attack. If it comes down to a combat and for whatever rare reason I can't be here, you should feel free to have him do so. I think it will become easier as time goes on, but if an action is needed and it's one that's obvious, you should feel like you can sub in and take that action. Likewise if it's an action like everyone making a skill check (like climb, etc), you should feel free to roll if you've waited a long time, and there's no post (Hell, I'd even say to go ahead and roll that kind of stuff for us). Or really, most anytime there's a "group" action that needs to be taken, Initiative, perception, etc.
Yup. I take actions based on past performance for the characters in the PbP that I DM. Can't hold up the game because one person gets caught in a work or other situation and can not make it to the boards.

If it is a combat session, and after 24 hours, the person hasn't posted, I think that you should DMPC them. As for the skill checks, same thing. Just use what their actions were, to determing their most consistant approach. :)
But I would use the 1 day cut off, just to help keep things moving and prevent to many hard feelings.
Thanks for the input. Depending on the situation, I will move forward with activity every 24 hours or so. I will try to let you know, when I may be unavailable for more than 24 hours. Like today, I can almost post as I please. Yesterday, for most of the day, I was unavailable.
And I promise to not kill off your character during times of DMPC. :)

That works for me.
I would like to get a mundane item from the ACG, can you see an issue.

I also have this to say. I've played PbP games before on other sites, and follow a few here, but I have to say that this group, right here, just seems to be more friendly, and much more like a group of people that I would game around a table with, than a group of strangers with a keyboard and monitor between them. So, I just wanted to say thanks :D You're all of you making this a really fun game, and I look forward to adventuring with you all for a good long time.
Thank you all for your patience as Brandark and I play through an episode known as the "Shopkeeper's Daughter." This is the third time I have GMed this event. And it has been different each time, and though similar to the AP, I have yet to GM it precisely as written. I bring this up mainly for any that maybe following along the AP at home. I tend to use AP or modules as a guide and modify a lot as I go. So if any are expecting a precise following to the AP, you maybe somewhat disappointed. But I hope you find my take on the adventure still enjoyable.
Normally my weekends are free and clear. Not so much this weekend. My wife and I are expecting our first child and this weekend got swallowed with running around for that.
I usually have nice quiet weekend, which I know is coming to an end around Feb 10th :D
Hey, it is all good. Saturday was my first fully free day in a while, so I worked on the campaign. I went ahead and posted stuff up to the next major event.
And this really is for everyone: I am still far more comfortable in a ftf format than in PBP. And the reason is simple, in ftf, my players keep up with their characters abilities, while I keep up with the monsters, etc. In this format, I have to know more about your PCs. So I may miss an ability or a feat or something. So just let me know. However, if it happens to be inconsequential though, we may just move on in some cases, rather than rebuild the encounter.
