Intrigued. Would the other player play the eidolon?

D'oh! I went back and forth between having him worship Apsu (due to the draconic connection) and Gorum(because RAGE!). He should be CG, to stay within one step of his God. I'll change it.

I am new to hearing about these play by post adventures but i really want to play one. Ive only played Pathfinder for a little over a year with 2 friends and were lucky to play once a month if that. I have more free time than they do. Tonight when i get home id like to submit a character.

I just registered on paizo.com to try and find a play by post game :)

Yes! The pdf is in my virtual hands. Let the power reading begin!

It looks like Addict (Personal) remains the same, so no changes there.

I'm still going to look over the character again. There might be some tweaking, but nothing major.

Since you didn't mention Lore Warden in your earlier response, can I take that to mean it's okay to use? Either way is fine, looking at the character again, I can see reasons to just go straight Vanguard Slayer as well.

Cool. Besides redoing my character's campaign trait did you see anything that needs fixing on my character?

Tass' stats don't need to be changed, looks like.

This character went through the original AP. We only got to the very beginning of the boat house before it fell apart. I will adjust the character for first level again. Will tweek it back to normal. I was trying for another crimson throne game but did not make the cut, but this gives you a general idea of the character.

I have no crunch but my backstory is in the works!:

WiP Backstory:

Pandora and I grew up together on the streets of Old Krovosa and the rooftops of The Shingles. We were rivals first, then friends, and eventually partners and lovers. If Old Korvosa was our home, then The Shingles were our sanctuary. It wasn't an easy life, but it was ours and we made the best of it and eventually even profited off of it. There is a saying in Old Krovosa: "There is always work in Krovosa for those with quick feet and a brave heart." With an implication that said work would not be savory. Not only did we have nimble feet and no fear, we had a strong knowledge of the Shingles and its pathways. We delivered notes at first, nothing too important, but over time the local shops and gangs both trusted us with more valuable cargo. Packages, encrypted verbal messages, small animals, we picked it up and we dropped it off whatever it might be.

We felt the King and Queen of the Shingles and nothing could have stopped us! Until the day Pandora picked up a package she refused to deliver. I don't know what it was, but what I do know is that it cost her her life. I was called to identify her body and I will never forget how dull her usually vibrant azure eyes were. Whoever killed her took the package, but not only that they took her ring, the ring that once belonged to my grandmother, the ring that I gave her with whispered vows of forever. Good ol' Chester has the ring for sale now. He never asks questions about where his goods come from. He won't part with it at a price I can afford, but my story did move his few emotions enough to get a name. A man we have had run ins with in the past. He will give me the name of who did this, or he will give me his life.

Since Karl already has spellcraft as a class skill, it seems like the new traits only reduce his spellcraft bonus to +1. Oh well.

I'm going to assume Love Lost (all alone) is the same as (widowed), so +1 to Intimidate and a class skill as opposed to a straight +2. Overall a win. I've tweaked Nicolai's skills to reflect this.

Dark Archive

Theophilus Flink - Revolutionary Philosopher

Theophilus is an autodidactic Acadamae dropout who has turned from self-pity and rampant chemical experimentation to trying to free the people of Old Korvosa from the many boots on their necks - a corrupt king, vicious criminals, and the laws that prevent the people from banding together.

Crunchwise he's a reach and eventually shapeshifting based Investigator who's appropriately skillsy

Appearance
Kayleigh is a pretty if not striking young woman with pale skin and short blonde hair. She has a kindness that is reflected in her eyes and her face projects an element of naivety.
Personality
Kayleigh’s a friendly person, if not particularly outgoing with strangers. Once someone’s earned her loyalty, however, she’s a friend for life. Kayleigh’s something of a bleeding heart, often caring more for the poor and downtrodden than she does for herself.

Background/Roleplaying Post
Kayleigh Fairwind rose with the sun, as was her custom. She made the bed in her run-down Bridgefront apartment suite, pulled on her mud-stained white leather breeches, and threw her trusty chain shirt and slightly less filthy white tabard over her head. Wistfully, the young lady wished she knew the useful prestidigitation spell so many bards had in their repertoires; perhaps she could seek one out and exchange some healing or magically create water for a much-needed cleaning spell. Then again, the last bard who’d performed the service for her—a cad from Exemplary Execrables theater—had insisted that the spell wouldn’t clean her clothing unless he ran his hands over every inch of it; call her cynical, but Kayleigh was pretty sure the spell had no such touch requirement.

You’ll be cleaner than almost all the poor people you’ll meet today, the girl reminded herself as she grabbed the last of her gear—an empty waterskin, a fearsome morningstar, an as-yet unnotched buckler, and a leather belt purse with a few silver and copper coins in it. Turning a key in the average-quality lock of her sparsely-furnished apartment, Kayleigh wished she could afford better protection…but then again, there wasn’t much inside worth stealing. She padded down a flight of stairs (as quietly as possible so as to not awaken anyone sleeping in) and stepped out into the streets of Old Korvosa.

Kayleigh had a daily routine, and she did not stray from it this morning. She hopped onto Wave Street and followed it all the way east to the small marketplace at its intersection with Fort Korvosa Boulevard, just north of the great bridge. There she bought a dozen fresh eggs and a small sack of past-prime fruit. Then she entered the crumbling remnants of a small but once-proud stone building that now served as the Temple of Aroden.

The three priests who tended the building were about what you’d expect to see in servants of a dead god: each was creeping up on the far end of middle-age, had little vim or vigor in their daily lives or in their religious zeal, and had a bleak, sometimes cynical view of the future of their faith and the city. Still, they were nice enough gentlemen and tenacious when their backs were put against a wall: Several times the city had tried to shut down the temple but each time the priests had rallied their meager flock and gathered enough gold to ward off an ignominious end.

The priests of Aroden also tried to care for the poor of Old Korvosa, and that made them special in Kayleigh’s eyes. Each morning she stopped by the temple to make eggs to go with whatever leftovers the priests had from the previous night’s supper. As a rule, she took only a few forkfuls of egg herself for the protein, content to break her fast with a piece or two of fruit to tide her over.

This morning, however, she feared she’d go without: The three priests had a guest with them as they awaited Kayleigh’s arrival. The most outgoing of the clerics—bald-headed Garlan—introduced the young priestess of Milani to Anadrea Hillbrake, a nervous-looking, puffy-eyed lady of perhaps 35 summers. Garlan explained that the woman’s 12-year-old son, Kevlin, had gone missing four days ago while accompanying his mother on a shopping trip in Midland.

“The lad vanished when Anadrea stopped at a candle shop on Harborview Boulevard,” Garlan explained. “Didn’t your family once live in that part of the city, Kayleigh?”

The cleric’s face went even paler than normal and she didn’t reply at first to Garlan’s question. A memory that used to haunt the young woman as a daily nightmare once again reared its ugly head, leaving Kayleigh—at least momentarily—just a scared little girl.

It was two years after Kayleigh’s parents had perished in a fire. She’d been taken in by a friend and neighbor of her mother’s, an unmarried woman poor in looks but rich in kindness. One day that winter, her new guardian didn’t wake up one cold morning, and Kayleigh was alone in the world. She was taken in by a man named Ghaedren Lamm. This mean tyrant had a pack of kidnapped and ‘rescued’ orphans who worked for him in exchange for meager food rations and a roof over their heads at night. Ghaedren was a lowly crime lord, the children his pickpockets and thieves.

Well, Kayleigh’d been an awkward, somewhat uncoordinated child at the time. She was a terrible pickpocket, a hopeless thief or lookout, and an even worse liar. She was destined for a short-lived apprenticeship under the merciless Lamm, but things escalated when the girl found a wondrous silver amulet attached to a fine silver chain wedged in a crack between the street and a damaged curbstone. She recognized the piece of jewelry to be a holy symbol of some kind: The pendant featured a delicate rose growing out of a crack in a cobblestoned street. Kayleigh traveled all the way to the Pantheon of Many in South Shore to learn more about the holy symbol and the faith it represented, and to return it to the priest or priestess who’d lost it, if she must.

Her inquiries were met with blank stares from many priests at the multidenominational shrine, but when she showed the silver rose to the priest of the god Iomedae, he recognized it as the holy symbol of the goddess Milani. He told the waif what he knew of Milani’s faith before asking where her parents were. Kayleigh stammered something unintelligible and was preparing to flee when the priest smiled and said, “You keep that necklace, little girl. May it protect you and give you courage….”

…and that was all the priest managed to say before Kayleigh fled, running most of the way back to Midland and Lamm’s headquarters. Certain the cruel man would steal her treasure if she brought it into his hideout, Kayleigh held the holy symbol in her hand, thinking hard of a safe place where she could stash it. That’s when Ghaedren Lamm’s bony fingers closed hard on her shoulder.

The crime lord broke the holy symbol before the girl’s eyes before beating her to within an inch of her life and tossing her body in an alley just off Harborview Boulevard. Kayleigh would have died if the Iomedaean priest she’d met hadn’t decided to follow the obvious orphan street urchin when she fled north. The girl had lost him shortly after entering Midland, but luckily he’d found her again before she’d breathed her last. The cleric took the child back to the Pantheon of Many, healed her wounds, and offered her a job cleaning the temple and helping out with other odd jobs and errands. Kayleigh remained in South Shore at the temple for roughly a third of her life, until Milani heard her fervent prayers and granted her the powers of a Merciful Healer. Kayleigh then moved to Bridgefront in Old Korvosa—one of the city’s poorest neighborhoods—to better care for Korvosa’s most needy: the sick, poor, and underprivileged.

Her thoughts returning to the present, Kayleigh was fairly certain she’d managed to mutter an affirmative to Garlan’s question, but now the old man was asking another. “Can you help Mrs. Hillbrake find her lost boy? Kayleigh?”

“I-I…. Yes. Yes—I’ll do my best,” Kayleigh heard herself saying. Now, seven years after nearly dying at the hands of that miserable bastard Ghaedren Lamm, she’d be going back into the crime lord’s territory, to his seat of power. Was the old goat even still drawing breath? Did he still have a roster of mindless underlings ready and willing to do his sinister bidding? Was the missing child even under Lamm’s iron fist or had he met with some other awful fate? Was she strong enough to face Ghaedren and his thugs alone and live to tell the tale?

Kayleigh didn’t have answers to all these questions, but she now had enough self-confidence and faith in Milani’s guidance and protection to know this was a challenge she couldn’t back down from. She’d search every filthy inch of Midland for Kevlin Hillbrake, and if she found him in Ghaedren Lamm’s clutches…well, she’d cross that bridge when she came to it.

Query; is Fencing Grace on the table? Link is here.

On second thought, doesn't matter much, I think I'm going to throw together a Slayer...

Grand Lodge

Updated Crux to starting character.

I present Marcus Rutio, a Chelaxian paladin of Abadar with the Holy Tactician and Holy Guide archetypes for your consideration. The profile has all the same info, just presenting here for ease of access.

Background:

Marcus Rutio grew up the son of two well-off Chelaxians, part of those who long for the pure days of Chelish social order. They lived in North Point, and were quite happy there. When Marcus was still young, he showed incredible promise for militant work, being already quite strong and with a sharp mind to boot. The entire family were devout followers of Abadar, and Marcus' father had many ties in with the Korvosan Guard; he was able to secure his son not only a position within the city guard, but also a fast track to command.

Once Marcus became involved in the city guard, he quickly stood out in his tactical abilities and fighting tactics. While his father's connections certainly helped, he showed that he was more than capable of standing on his own abilities. It was assumed that he would end up in a position of command at a very young age. Throughout his training, he maintained a large emphasis on his faith in Abadar, and his love of order and law only grew. He loved the city of Korvosa, flawed though it was, and knew the city better than anyone else his age. He could flow through a crowd like it was nothing, and thrived out in the streets. He was the pride of his parents, a model soldier, and an upstanding citizen.

Marcus' life changed drastically, though, when he met Alexandra Covanu. A native born Varisian who had only recently moved to the city, she was breath-taking to behold. She had the most beautiful, dark, smooth skin, and had flowing long honey brown hair. Most importantly, though, she had a love of life that Marcus was enchanted with. She wasn't nearly so focused on law and order as he was, has his family was; she had a freedom that made him marvel. As their relationship blossomed, he began to see the world in a different way. His soul was still drawn to the order of Abadar, but it was tempered by the views of his beloved.

Their relationship put an incredible strain on Marcus' relationship with his parents. They had a view of Varisian people as something to keep out, something to be avoided, only just tolerated where absolutely necessary. To become involved with a Varisian was a joke to them, an insult to their honor. It caused such a rift between them that Marcus ended up cutting all ties with them as he and Alexandra got a place of their own in the Midland district.

Life was good for a while, even though his father had cut his support of Marcus within the city guard. Marcus was talented enough that he could exceed on his own steam at this point. He settled into life with Alexandra, and the two were eventually married. He saved and scraped every penny from his work with the guard to buy her the kind of ring she deserved; ultimately, it still wasn't much, but she loved it anyway. She promised to never take it off.

Then came the day that everything changed. When he arrived home, Alex was not there. That in and of itself was not a big deal; she was prone to wandering about the city during the day. However, when day became night and she still was not home, Marcus became worried. Worry became reality when a knock on the door came, and it was friends from the guard; they did not look happy. They said the words he dread to hear, and his orderly world came crashing down around him.

They took him to where it happened. There she was, his beloved Alex, lying in a pool of her own blood. She was stabbed, multiple times. The wounds were on her front; she hadn't attempted to run, but had faced her attackers. She was brave to a fault sometimes, always believing that people's good would overcome. She paid for that with her life. Then he noticed something that made the pain dive that much deeper - the ring. The ring she had promised she would never take off. It wasn't there. Was this why she died? For the greed of a two-bit thief, who was willing to kill for a ring bought on the salary of a city guard?

After identifying the body, his friends took him home and promised they would look into it. As the days turned into weeks, though, nothing came of it. He went and talked to Field Marshal Kroft, and he learned why it was taking so long - they didn't have the time. They were too busy to spend resources to look for some two-bit killer.

He was outraged. What was worse, is that he had a sinking feeling he knew the real reason behind the lack of action. His father, who had never wanted his son involved with a Varisian native, had enormous pull with the guard. He went and confronted his father, and after a long and heated exchange he said the words that would forever drive them apart - "Your Varisian whore got what she deserved. Man up and get back to work."

Marcus left in a rage before he did something stupid. He spent the rest of the day just wandering the city, his city, trying to get calm. As the gods, or fate, or pure dumb luck would have it, during his frantic wandering, he happened to look into a shop window and see just about the last thing he expected - his wife's ring. It was just sitting there, out in the open. He stormed into the shop and demanded answers from the shop owner. While the owner refused to give up the ring without being paid (at three times the original cost of the ring, of course), he was shaken enough by Marcus' accusations to seek to shift the focus of Marcus' ire. He gave Marcus a name, the name of the man who sold him the ring, the name of a man well known as a petty criminal, just the sort who would kill a woman for a relatively cheap ring - Gaedren Lamm. A name burned into Marcus' heart.

Marcus went back to the city guard, back to the people who were supposed to be his friends, and demanded of them that they help him track down Lamm. While many hung their heads in shame, they still wouldn't help. Kroft, not without sympathy in her eyes, still maintained that they just didn't have the resources to go after a man like Lamm. Particularly not only on the say-so of a two bit pawn shop owner. She tried to reassure him that, given Lamm's reputation, he would likely find himself on the wrong side of some adventurer's sword, and then they wouldn't have to worry about it.

The words meant to comfort only made Marcus angrier. This was the city guard! It was their job to keep law and order! Not to turn a blind eye! When they still wouldn't change their position, he quit immediately. If they wouldn't uphold justice, he would do it himself. Lamm would face justice, not just for the wrong done to Marcus, but for everyone he harmed. Marcus would see to it.

Appearance:
Marcus is a very large man, standing just over 6'3", with muscles all over his body. He has dark brown hair, almost black, which he keeps cut very short so it stays out of his way. He has kind looking, dark blue, intelligent eyes, which have no problem gazing directly back into your eyes. He stays clean shaven whenever possible, as he can't abide the disorder that comes with a growing beard. His skin is naturally light-toned, but long hours standing guard have turned the skin much darker than normal.

Marcus is a simple man, and tends to dress like it. He doesn't wear extravagant travel gear or outfits with tons of pieces; he usually is seen wearing a simple pair of dark brown trowsers and a loose fitting tan shirt. When outfitted for battle, he tends to wear lighter armor than most fighters, preferring the ability to move easily about the field to higher defense. As a result, he is currently wearing a well worn chain shirt. Strapped to his back is a massive greatsword, with the hilt sticking up past his right shoulder. In his hands is his favored weapon, a well loved Lucerne Hammer.

Notes about play style:

My intent with Marcus is to play him as a paladin with a fierce personal code, but tempered by his experiences with his wife, and disenchanted with city law because of his experiences with the guard after her death. While he holds himself to a high standard of honor, he understands that not everyone views the world as he does; he also thinks that the current city government is not where it needs to be, and he doesn't trust them. He will still seek to follow the law where he thinks the law is right, but if the law comes into conflict with his code of honor and the tenants of Abadar, he won't hesitate to put the law second. I'm aware of difficulties with Lawful Stupid paladins, and am going to strive not to fall into that trap. I've never played a paladin before, so I hope you will work with me on what does or does not violate his code and what that means. I'm open to playing it however you want.

Plans:

I plan on taking Urban as a favored terrain at level 3 for the Holy Guide archetype. I liked the idea of having a primary reach weapon and doing various fun things with the sharing of teamwork feats as the situation presents itself. Not sure yet what teamwork feats to take or whether to try to focus on any combat maneuvers, will figure that out as I go. Am open to suggestions.

Do you have a deadline for this recruitment, GM?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

I have to say, I'd planned on a week or maybe two of time prior to kicking this off - just based on prior experience attracting good characters and the anticipated wait on the release of the AP revision.

But honestly, there are a ton of great submissions here already, and I downloaded the AP today and am steaming through the read, so I can't see waiting that long. I'll close recruitment in the next couple of days based on the rate of submissions and my proximity to ready-for-launch.

This is a really interesting character I created for the Carrion Crown AP. It has most of what you are asking for, though I haven't had a chance to tweak him for your requirements. With a high number of quality submissions, I don't really expect to be chosen, but I'd welcome any feedback and if Kye is someone you're interested in, I'd be happy to discuss. Also, I haven't played in a PBP game yet, but I've been through a number of recruitments. I should be able to post once per day with little issue.

I present Jaylen Greystone. NG Unarmed Warpriest of Irori. He also works as an Enlightened Paladin but due to your comments earlier about paladins I built the WP instead.

Appearance:

With his dark hair and tanned skin, it is obvious that Jaylen has some Varisian blood running through his veins. He stands 6' and about 260 lbs. His training has tone his muscles to perfection and he likes to show off his physique. Often wearing clothes that show his arms and chest

Background:

Younger Years – Born into a fairly well to do merchant family in Korvosa, Jaylen wanted for very little. He was still however a challenge to control. He had a temper and a penchant for getting into trouble.

Early Teens – As Jaylen grew older and began going to school, it became obvious that Jaylen would not grow out of his temper and decided to channel it into a more productive manner. His father took him to Absalom to visit the Irorium. A gladitorial arena and temple to Irori. Jaylen was very interested watching the gladiators fight and when his father asked him if he'd like to stay in Absolom and learn to fight while continueing his education. Jaylen accepted, and never returned to Korvosa until recently.

Later Teens – Jaylen excelled in his studies at the Irorium and came to realize as that a gladiator's life was not exactly as glamorous as a young boy may think. His view changed in these years and with the teachings of Irori began to focus on improving him self as his focus. Not just physically but also mentally. He focused hard on his education as well as his physical abilities and found a deeper connection to Irori than he could have ever imagined. The cleric monks of the Irorium recognized this as well and helped him to find a stronger connection with the god and Jaylen found that it granted him abilities to make himself even stronger.

Current – Jaylen received a letter that his father had died and asked that he should return home as soon as possible. The letter was from his mother and had few other details in it. I will leave the rest to fill in, but this could easily fit right into the AP. My initial thought was that his family's business had been corrupted by the criminal underground of Korvosa and had led to his father's death. As far as a trait looking at the old Players Guide, Missing Sibling works well here too I think. When Jaylen returns to Korvosa his sister is missing and his mother is wrought with grief.

Here's Bahbrahb's submission minus the fluff. I'll have that up probably by tomorrow.

It's not with the other player playing the eidolon. I still haven't heard from him though, so I'm leaning towards submitting the arcane trickster. That will need a bit adaptation though.

Will you give us time to finish up our characters? I guess I should hurry up either way...

I do think I have him fixed and ready to go
Thanks for the chance to run this AP.

Dotting for interest. Will have stats and fluff up by my evening.

DM Luke, I wish to introduce you to Argus Crady, an urban druid who tends the streets of Korvosa as a gardener tends his flowers.

As things aside, I'm pleased how well this character meshes with his feats and traits. I will expand on his history some more later, but he's essentially done.

Argus's backstory is updated and expanded, but I'll be glad to tweek it further to make him fit better in the campaign if chosen.

Also, incorporated campaign trait.

Figured I'd just get it done. Background and description up

Would the Oracle Mystery Godclaw?

I will get a proper history for my Nagaji tonight. =^^=

I'm looking forward to a city based AP and have a lot of ideas.

Can we use archetypes from say the Melee Tactics Toolbox or the Haunted Heroes or things like that or is it purely what you mentioned in your first post? Sorry if this has been asked before.

Here is my application: a brawler socialite who's returning home after a long trip, only to find the city he loves under great duress.

Keep in mind that Corso is likely to hit on any NPC his crosses path with and misinterpret the obvious, all for the good of the game.

I'm still working on equipment, but otherwise, the character is done. I hope to have fun with the possibilities martial flexibility offers.

Please let me know if you have questions or comments.

I have two questions before submitting my character (half-shoanti half-elf spirit guide time oracle of a martial bent). Can we use stuff from the player companions (mainly, I'm interested in Auspicious Tattoo from Humans of Golarion and the Fey Thoughts alternate race trait from Heroes of the Wild)? And second, our gear has to come from the CRB or can we use Ultimate Equipment?

This is Ariarh Kane's submission: an Aasimar (Garuda-Blooded/Plumekith) Shaman with an owl spirit companion.

It's very late here and there may be some final tweaks to be made to the character in my morning, but her stats and fluff are on the profile.

Thank you for your consideration, DM Luke.

There are indeed a lot of great characters being submitted! :D

I don't envy the GM, picking out a crew.

I'm considering a Rogue (Possibly the unchained version) Makeshift Scrapper (From the Melee Tactics toolbox) OR a Bladebound Magus.

All these archetypes and I'm just sitting here making a regular Human Hunter with a Dog animal companion.

Alistair is up an good to go
let me know if I need to change anything
The background is from the first time this character went through the AP...we did not make it far...I changed the details around and added it to my background

Sorry I've fallen behind on my replies... Holy submissions Batman!

Emileva - so essentially you are trading armor proficiency for skills. I'm ok with this archetype.

Genevieve - not readily, but I have to go back over alot of these submissions with the fine-toothed comb.

Nicolai Fortescu - the description reads the same - so yep, that's the one.

Allistair Wellington, Theophilius Fink, Kayleigh Fairwind, Brother Kye, Jaylen Greystone, Kuskyn Vafiel, Corso Gaczi, Ariarh Kane - welcome!

soulcougher73 - awesome! Thanks for your submission.

oyzar - I may have to call an end to new submissions soon just to be able to catch up to the backgrounds that have come in. In any event, your unnamed arcane trickster is on my big board awaiting its crunchy bits.

Rhal - Godclaw looks fine.

That Sean fellow - As far as classes are concerned I've tried to confine the choices to those listed in my profile. For archetypes I've been willing to include some material from Paizo publications not on my shelf. I disallowed unchained upthread.

Amaranthine Witch - yes to Humans of Golarion. I'm ok with Fey Thoughts. UE is approved.

I would like to introduce Rasmuth Alsman. He's a Lawful Neutral Oracle in the service of the temple of Pharasma.

Physical Description:

Even though Rasmuth still shows signs of the beating he received from Gaedren as a child in the form of scars, one leg slightly shorter than the other and a loss of some of the movement in his right arm Rasmuth has grown strong of Muscle and developed a strong face that commands respect.

Long hours spent in the catacombs of the temple of Pharasma have left Rasmuth pale of skin. But has allowed him to adapt to his lack of sight. Instead of normal eyes Rasmuth's are two orbs of pale white that glow with divine power when he casts a spell.

Background Story:
In the End Pharasma The Lady of Graves gets us all... For Rasmuth this came before he died...

Rasmuth Alsman was orphaned at a very young age and forced to grow up on the streets. He spent months after his mothers death to a plague trying to fend for himself. He was al but lost and dead when Gaedren Lamm found him. Rasmuth remembered thinking the world of Gaedren. He had been almost dead but was pulled back from the brink by this man. Gaedren was fully aware of this dyamic and took full advantage of Rasmuth' loyalty. Rasmuth once fed was always a little bit bigger... a little bit stronger.... a little bit more assertive then other children. Gaedren recognized these qualities in the boy and began to groom him to be an enforcer. Rasmuth would spend his days passing on Gaedrens instructions to other children, returning with their ill gotten gains for the day. Gaedren even began to teach Rasmuth to be an enforcer. More than once Rasmuth beat other children who had failed to meet their quota or displeased Gaedren in some other fashion. It didn't take long for this style of life to become normal for Rasmuth. Several years went by like this.

Things changed when Pharasma called Rasmuth to her. On the surface it didn't seem like much. It had all been because of a holy symbol carved from the top portion of a skull. Rasmuth to this days remembers the whorl pattern of pharasmas holy symbol etched into that piece of bone. It had called to Rasmuth, and he didn't know why but he kept it. Never before had Rasmuth been the one to hold something back from Gaedren. Rasmuth never found out how Gaedren found out about the holy symbol , but when Gaedren did he was furious. Rasmuth can still hear the mans words in hs head... If you love Pharasma so much you can go to her now.... Then came the beating. Blow after blow. Bones snapped, skin split... and the world went dark. Up until that moment Rasmuth had thought Gaedren had cared about him. It became clear however that this was not the case. Broken, bloody and permenantly blind, Gaedren had Rasmuth dropped off in the Necropolis by some of the other children. More than likely They had all thought Rasmuth was dead.

This is when he was found by one of the acolytes in the temple to Pharasma. Later the acolyte would claim that Pharasma had appeared to him in a ghostly form and lead him to Rasmuth. The church of course took the broken blind boy in and trained him in the ways of the faith. Slowly he healed and adapted.

These days Rasmuth wonders if it had been Pharasma's wish for him to die as a child. Had Gaedran pulled Rasmuth back from death when Rasmuth should have been dead. Perhaps this is why Pharasma eventually came to claim Rasmuth.

Took a sharp left turn and ended up rolling a Bolt Ace. Concept is an ex-criminal bounty hunter looking for his lost nephew. Check out Deckard Marston.

This is Faolan, ancestors oracle and mercenary.

Hey don't knock it. Sometimes the fundamentals are great to play too. Nothing wrong with that!

... I just wanted to play the shortest orc in Golarion.

Nebbin enters, looking around.

"Is this the right place?" he asks, his voice far more nervous than it probably should be considering the massive man's size.

--

Here's Nebbin, a young native of Korvosa's Bridgefront slums. He was originally in a Wrath of the Righteous campaign and was a lot of fun to play, but it died out on me. I think he'd fit well here too.

I still have to get him a second trait and equip him, but those can both be done very quickly.

That said, just so you know in case you want to make some quick decisions, I'll be on vacation Oct. 9-13 with fairly limited posting ability.

I've done that with a Halfling "strong man" before. Shortest height a male Halfling can be and had a 16 Strength. Monk of the Empty Hand is great.

Will try to have a background in for Luthian by tonight

Busy putting together my Roof Runner Rogue. Think he'll be great for the whole urban setting of this campaign. Hope I get picked!

Still keeping tabs on this. :)
