Still keeping tabs on this. :)
Yes, please do. I'm going to call an end to submissions at 10:00 PM tonight my time, so 7 1/2 hours from now. If you've posted here on the thread and have a submission in the works I will take it. I'll leave some more time for the submissions that are in to have finishing touches applied - I'm compiling a list of items across the board and will send these out after the deadline passes.
There are 27 concrete submissions here for 5 spots, a couple I've received by PM, and another 3 or 4 promised in this thread! I want to assure everyone that I'm giving each submission its due consideration. If you could only see my whiteboard...

I present Jarrus Caynin for your consideration!
Jarrus is lean and muscled and covered in scars from his many beatings at the hands of Gaedren Lamm. He wears soft leather breeches and short coat and well worn, sturdy boots. With three Daggers on his right hip and a Short Sword across his back. He has stern dark eyes and curly dark brown locks that hang loose in front of his eyes but tied loosely in the back.
After a while he met with Gaedren Lamm who took him under his wing. Still young and naive Jarrus thought Gaedren was looking out for him. But Jarrus was just another one of 'Gaedren's Lamms'. Thieving for him so that Jarrus could have a good meal and a warm bed. And too ashamed to go back home which now seemed so far away. After a few years of 'service' and getting older, Jarrus started questioning and standing up to Gaedren, especially when Gaedren punished the newer 'recruits'.
One day Jarrus pushed back and Gaedren made him pay dearly. After days of torture and beatings Jarrus was left for dead. But Gaedren unwittingly turned Jarrus into sterner stuff and he survived.
In the time since then Jarrus has been a thorn in Gaedren and many a crimelords side.
Using his unnatural skills to move unseen along the rooftops of the city of Korvosa he is an unseen guardian to the weak and oppressed.

Better late than never... Oyzar's character here. Sorry for taking so long and writing so long. I've adapted it from another submissions so if there are something that seem out of place I might have forgotten to correct it. I doubt I'll have much time to change things before you are finished with your considerations, but I would be happy to do so if that's your wish.
Hi all! Recruitment is closed. I'll be posting a summary of the submissions that I have shortly. I'll give any incomplete submissions that I have right now another day to send in critical things like backstories (or backstory changes) and then announce the names of the 5 players who are in the game tomorrow evening.
Thanks everyone for your time and your patience.

Must have gotten missed in the updating. Here it is and I've also put it in his profile.
Background: Crux was born to a life of wealth. He had a talent for magic but his father wanted him to become a soldier. So Crux ran away from home. He had dreams of impressing a great wizard and becoming his apprentice. Eventually becoming a powerful wizard in his own right. Unfortunately, he was found by Gaedren Lamm before that could happen. Gaedren recognized the potential in Crux and tried to force a life of crime upon him. However, Crux was not to be swayed and eventually, Lamm decided the boy with so much potential had to be removed. Crux was beaten and left for dead in the gutters where, as fortune would have it, he was found by a up and coming wizard. The wizard nursed him back to health and took him on as his apprentice. His apprenticeship is now done and Crux has returned to finish his business with Lamm and make amends with his father.
Appearance: Crux is rather tall and thin with a piercing stare. He keeps himself covered as much as possible in an effort to hide the wounds that remain on his face and body from Lamm's depredations. He has a noticeable limp from that last beating as well (though it does not hamper his movement).
PS. its almost 11 here, so forgive me if i miss things, will review again tomorrow or during weekend
Luthian had the unfortunate luck to be born as a Nagaji, a Nagaji who wanted to see the world, who wanted to travel, who wanted to meet new people. A Nagaji who wound up in this city.
Persecuted. Ridiculed. Made fun of, in a way tortured. He had to keep a low profile, keep to the backstreets and find alternate ways of getting food and money. For those he helped, those he saw himself in, he became a hero. The backstreets were his domain, he knew almost every little back pass and alley the guards seem to miss or avoid.
Trait: Dockside Avenger

Hi folks. I want to start this post by thanking everyone for the effort you put into the submissions you sent me. Selecting 15 of these submissions was hard. Selecting 8 was harder, 6 harder still. I've read tea leaves, consulted the stars, killed a brindled calf in the pale moonlight, rolled some dice and pondered expanding or shrinking the size of the party. And covered a 4x6 foot whiteboard with the details of your submissions, etc. In the end I've selected the following 5 characters for this campaign:
Neziana Fentel by oyzar.
Kayleigh Fairwind by Profession Smith 6 ranks.
Emileva Mavrakis by rdknight.
Nebbin Elsbet by motteditor.
Tassira Vantyev by Dragoncat
Please check-in on the discussion thread when you're able and we can start to prep the story for kickoff.
And the other side of that coin is that there are 25 awesome submissions for a Crimson Throne pbp right here on this recruitment thread in need of GMs. I wonder if some of the folks who've posted here wouldn't agree to run the game instead of being a player? I've found alot of resources online to help, and my brief view of the revised AP PDF makes me pretty certain that the kinks are ironed out of this plot...
Thanks again to everyone and happy gaming!
