I apologize in advance if I once again come across as trying to dictate the actions of other players or the GM - truly NOT the intent. But I'm getting very confused and frustrated watching Dumah die of poison while Quzman is carrying not only a vial of antitoxin but also a potion of Delay poison.
I tried to hint this in character several rounds ago. And when that didn't seem to work, I dropped a note for Lucendar in a spoiler to be aware of this when he took Quzmans action while he was away.
Now it is probably too late anyway, unless we somehow come across a scroll of neutralize poison or lesser restoration.
I'm not pointing fingers - I'm simply very confused about why these resources are not being used to at least try and save Dumah.
I don't think anyone thinks you are trying to run their characters. One of the problems with PBP is they move so slowly and (if your like me) the character sheet is in the profile and not right in front of your face. It is often easy to forget what we have in inventory or what info we have uncovered. That is one of the reasons I made the Books of Eli profile to help keep track of notes and treasures found. I had remembered getting those potions way back, and checked my sheet but didn't have any. I thought that we had used them all up. Thanks for trying to point it out to the player who had it. I think one of the advantages of the PBP is the OCC thread can be used to point out some of those kinds of helpful reminders to each other. Now we will have to see what kind of role-play comes out of the fact that Quzman had some potions and didn't use them. :) I hope Dumah doesn't turn him into a toad :)

Thanks, Mythril. I was pretty sure it was just an oversight, and I should probably have mentioned it OOC a lot sooner.
I guess I'm just extra careful to keep character and player knowledge separate, because I got off to a bit of a shaky start in that area during our fight with the Redcap.

Nice work on the diplomacy, Eli - let's see if namedropping has a better effect than a pretty girl asking for help.
I had wondered why Eli had no ranks in diplomacy - gotta love versatile performance.
Yeah, it is a nice perk to playing a bard. I didn't put any ranks into Diplomacy because of his background. He is gambler, so I opted for Bluff instead.

So sorry for the long lapse. It's been a busy week at work on top of catching up from being out of town. I'll try and get a character post in this afternoo.
Also, Dumah, I am so sorry, but I completely forgot I had anti-toxin or delay poison in my inventory. It's been months since we received those (It was before Quzman died to the priest I think).
Jace, please, if you see something like that mention it, even if just ooc. I may have over reacted the previous time. At that point, it had felt like there had been repeated proddings to change an action (not only mine, but others before that) and waiting in character to do something from non-character knowledge.
I don't mind if people read spoilers in regards to Quzman's knowledge, as that helps folks see the full picture. But it's a fine line to walk in regards to using the metagame knowledge for characters actions vs. an ooc mention or idea IMO.
I am sorry I came across so brash at the outset.
Sincerely,
Snigg

No need to apologize, Snigg. I fully admit to being a bit too pushy and metagamey during the redcap encounter, which made for a bad start. Coming in as a new member of a well-established group is always tricky, and I certainly didn't make it easier for myself by acting the way I did.

Jameena should be able to get everyone back to max hp and abilities within five minutes of us waking up, provided she does not roll three 1's on her lesser restorations.
After that, though, she'll of course want to regain her spells, but that is by no means mission critical.
I figure Jameena provides Long term care to everyone for a full day. That's 24 hp and 4 points of ability dmg cured. She then spends a couple of Channels and lesser restoration to take care of the remaining injuries.
Using the down-time for scouting and preparation sounds good.

Hey, MD. Going back to last August... I was looking in the Books of Eli and you have a Ring of Protection +1 going to ???. It looks like we got it when we freed the town from the gnolls toward the end of the first book. I can't find where we gave that to anyone in particular. Did Bahiyy take it with him, or did we sell it for Quzman's raise dead?
Books of Eli
Come to think of it...didn't we give it to Dumah? I think Eli had it then it was free to go to someone else after we got the +2 one. At any case it's a small ring so I don't see why he can't start wearing it now. Eli will just pull it out of his pack and Dumah can put it on. That is where it would be if no one else had taken it.
Sniggevert
Guys, Quzman has the ring of protection +1 and you sold the amulet of mighty fists, so please amend your Books of Eli. The "Search" feature used on the thread is invaluable; found the answer in seconds.
Huh. Sorry, must have been next to my anti-toxin and delay poison potion. I swear I don't remember much anymore.

Be careful, or Jameena will have to get all motherly with you.
"Now Quzman, be sure to drink your anti-toxin like a big boy before you go and fight the meanie weenie gnolls. And be careful not to get your armor wet - you know how you always catch Demon Fever when you get a chill."

Markofbane, if I may make a suggestion - in almost all situations where all of us martial characters have a chance to engage, Haste is a better choice than Flaming Sphere. If even one of us hits on our extra attack, we do comparable dmg to a hit from the sphere - and against these enemies, we are highly likely to have 2-3 of us hit.
Also, Jameena can really use the extra movement from haste to get into an ideal position to channel - which we saw in the Onxy/Ataraxia fight. If she had been able to move a bit further, perhaps Ky could have been saved.
I gotta compliment you on the use of Glitterdust, though. That was a perfect tactical choice.
Dumah
Thanks Jace. That will likely be coming next round.
I went with Glitterdust first to try and bring down the number of incoming attacks, even if just for a round or two. Especially with Dumah's experience with their poison.
I went with Flaming Sphere over Haste this round for a few reasons. One, I was trying to save third level spells for the largest encounters; I don't know what's coming, but I want at least one Haste for when we reach the Carrion King. Two, by casting Flaming Sphere first, it means in subsequent rounds I can use a move action to potentially cause damage and my standard actions for other purposes (like casting Haste or even just using force missiles). And three, it gave me another round to gauge the unknown entities; are these Unchosen tough enough to warrant the Haste, and do I include the half-ogre? I think the answer to both of those is now Yes, but I wasn't so sure before.
But I do appreciate the hints here. Dumah is the first d20 wizard I've run since 1E. In the interim, I'd played HERO and GURPS, but I never played 2.0, 3.0 or 3.5. So tips and tactics are always welcome.

Sorry to do this right at the start of a battle, but since tomorrow is my Birthday I will not be checking in on the thread. Eli will inspire courage and try to maneuver to a flanking position where he can get Sneak Attack damage and a flanking bonus. He will feint if possible to take away his opponents Dex bonus to AC. I be back on Monday.

Jace, a couple things about this last round. I considered using the ring to try and knock the unchosen to a spot where Ty could get a full attack on it (and break up the flanking on Quzman), but I would have to use True Strike to get a high enough attack roll to do that, and that would have taken too long; Ty could run up and be in position before I completed that sequence.
I moved Dumah up and attacked the goblin for a few reasons. In character, Dumah feels responsible for tackling the enemy spellcaster, and he has every confidence in Quzman's ability to one-shot the remaining unchosen. Out of character, even though Jameena has a smite going on Blobog, I wanted to set you up for the best possible chance to take him down on your next turn to keep him from fleeing. The way Lucendar has been running these NPCs, I'm sure Blobog is smart enough to fall back if he loses his support and the unchosen won't give up for anything. Ever.
markofbane
Three charges left on the ring. I was planning on using them during this fight, depending on the positioning of everyone. I was thinking I'd start off with bonded object for haste, then depending on the circumstances Grease, Flaming Sphere or ring of the ram. Thing is, the ring would be way more effective if I can get a True Strike off first.
Jameena Al'Qadr
Haste first definitely seems like the way to go. After that, we'll try to stay alive long enough to give you some time to work.
Also, you are the only one who can see that spellcaster. Remember to remind our glorious GM in case he forgets.
JaceDK
I'm pretty sure the Carrion King has a sidekick lurking somewhere:
Behind the Carrion King, you see for an instant a 7' tattooed gnoll dressed in robes, who says "Ghartok, prove yourself....Rovagug is watching!" With that, the figure disappears, leaving only the sight of a throne room with 5 female gnolls sitting on cots on the floor, eagerly anticipating the coming battle.
markofbane
Dumah, did you forget to move after your spell?
Yeah, my bad. I was posting from a phone (which I normally don't do) and couldn't see the map, so I didn't post a position change. Well, hopefully Dumah taking that Cleave will mean another Stalker will be standing in the fight longer against this monstrosity.
Oh, and just a friendly suggestion: no one "take" AoO's during this one! ;)
