Yes, sure, you can make any changes retroactive up until combat begins. Just waiting for you to post as Mundinus is summoned to the chamber wherein sit the Sand Stalkers and Garavel.

I made a set of retroactive changes. I lowered INT to from 14 to 12 to free up 3 points. I raised Dex from 11 to 12. I raised Wisdom from 10 to 12.

I get the feeling that things are going to get nasty for everyone if the Oracle gets hit or fails a Will save.

I adjusted all the stats. Removed all UMD ranks as well as a Rank in Alchemy. (-5 skill points)

Hope you are ok with that.

------

I will post in a couple of hours. I am just reading a little through the thread to ascertain what Mundio already knows about the Sand Stalkers before he makes his entry.

Don't fret Strobus, Eli will come around to Mundio soon.

Of course he has to do more to earn Eli's trust. An elaborate tea ceremony doesn't make the grade obviously. ...and he worked so hard on that tea.....sigh. lol

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

I have a feeling once you earn his trust that the two of you will be good friends. Eli longs for word from home, but since our last encounter with a stranger nearly got us all killed, I have to play him as cautious. One of the things I like about PBP is we can be at odds for a bit and allow the role-play to develop their relationship.

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

I will be away all day, going as an extra parent on my daughters class field trip today. Eli will chat with Kyle at the bar for a bit and unless something drastic happens the plan is to go to bed and sleep away some of his grief.

Sorry for the absence guys. Things have been just plain stupid busy at home the last few days. I'll make an in character post when I get a chance to catch up tonight.

Sincerely,
Snigg

Who is Father Jezrel? The high priest of the Church of Sarenrae in Katapesh is Ismael Chaqra, the same who raised Quzman. If part of Mundinus' backstory, then he would have to be a priest in the Church, not the High Priest. If part of Brebork's peist was thenbackground, it would have to be a high priest in Solku. If Mundinus did mean Ismael....

Uh Oh. This is awkward. Sorry to mess up with the facts of the story. I read about Jezrel in Brebork's backstory. Now that you mention it I see it was the priest in Solku after all. @#%! How did I miss that? And how do we fix this gracefully...? Perhaps Jezrel was a senior priest in Katapesh during Mundinus' childhood, who was later appointed to the Solku position?

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

According to the Garavel introduction in Breborks back ground Jezrel is the High Priest in Solku. I think a way to tie in Berbork to the original adventure, but I think your suggestion works he could have recently been appointed in Solku before the adventure started and his knowing Brebork as a youngster might be why he suggested the half-orc to Garavel in the first place.

Don't sweat it. Most of us are posting and reading quickly during quick breaks at work, between meetings and/or between family obligations so I think most PbP players totally get that kind of slip up. :)

Yeah, don't worry about it. The fact that you took the time to read the thread and the character backgrounds before you made your character. AWSOME. I was real excited to see that Lucendar picked you because of that. It real easy to make these kind of mistakes especially since some of the story was written...oh....seven months ago so all is good.

I am not saying that I will, but I am itching to run Rise of the Rune Lords since my home group has moved on to other adventures. I really like the role play that this group has shone and thought you all might like a second game to play in, and Lucendar could be a character too. Are any of you interested in going through that AP. Im not keen on opening up to a whole new round of players right now, but if this group is interested I will think more seriously about being the DM for it.

I would absolutely be interested. I love the Pathfinder APs and I haven't played RotRL. And more gaming with this group would just be a huge bonus!

MD, I would love to play in Rise of the Runelords. Like all the other paths, I read them when they came out, and haven't looked at them since. And I would be doubly happy to play in another adventure with this group.

Yes, MD, would love to play in your game.

I would be quite interested in the game MD. However, in truth, I am currently running the AP with my local group, and have been for the last 2 1/2 years. I feel I can separate player knowledge from character knowledge, but the story is well known (though the early parts were played long ago).

I'm laughing at myself. I am already thinking of characters for MD's game, even though he isn't even sure if he will be running it.

Elf Elemental Witch?
Human Admixture focused Evoker?

The possibilities are endless!

Im not worried about players knowing. I am more interested in the story told, as compared to the secrets reviled. Besides I have a few additions in mind for ways it could diverge from the original plot.

I hear you, Gerald. After MD raised the possibiity, I had half a dozen character ideas rolling around. An elf wizard/ranger? A human female thief (Eponine)? A gnome cleric of Gozreh? An elven fighter? A halfling bard hero maker?

So, no pressure MD. But I think it is pretty clear that if you decide you want to go forward with it, you'll have an interested and engaged group for you.

Also very interested. I once read the player's guide for RotRL. That's about it. It would be all new to me. I have a great idea for a human sorceress which I would love to try.

And thanks for the reassuring words and kind welcome. (in contrast with Eli Wynnstock's cool welcome to Mundinus - that's making for some interesting roleplay!)

Exactly, I think it is okay for characters to have conflict with each other in a PC group as long as it doesn't interfere with the story. I draw the line at attacking other party members and purposely manipulating things to cause another player grief. Like I said I think that the bard and the doctor will be good friends, but I think it tells a better story to have some friction based on the introduction we have had.

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

So everyone is interested, cool. I think I might take this on. However, I think it might have to move slower then the LoF game. If you all don't mind that then I think we are good to go. As for characters, I don't have the APG or any of the extra source books out. I only have the Core Book, the Campaign Setting book, and the RotRL Players Guide and of course the AP books. I would like to stick to the main classes and races for that reason. I have created an OOC Thread so we won't tie this thread up anymore. Thanks Guys, I am looking forward to this.

Where did everybody go?

My fault, been busy at work and home. I'll try to get the flow working again. Won't be able to post till this evening.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Strobus, my one pet peeve that I hate is disappearance from the game without notice. So if I don't hear from you by today, you're out and I'll bring in someone new.

Strobus, need to recruit someone new, so you're out. No hard feelings but your last post was November 5th. I can't wait 6 days for a new post. It's not fair to the group or the momentum of the game.

Do you want to see if any of the established players from Geralds RHOD game are interested as mentioned in MD's OOC thread, or do you want to reopen the recruiting thread from a week or two ago?

Now, Joana and Tanner are both in a LoF game right now. Tanner is running and Joana is playing. AK and Sigz are not in the game as far as I know.

Sorry gang I havent been feeling well, spent last night sleeping. I will try to catchup and make a post this evening.

Male Human Desert Druid 5

heya guys! here is my Desert Druid w/ Fire Domain, a Tribal elder from Quzman's tribe. I'm submitting for review.

I don;t have the LoF Player guide, but I used the Archives of Nethys for a Trait from it, if thats ok.

Strength of the Sun (Sarenrae)
Source Legacy of Fire Player's Guide 9
You take solace in the purifying light of the sun. During the day, you gain a +1 trait bonus on all Charisma-based checks.

Let me know if thats ok, otherwise, I'll take reactionary.

Thanks for the chance to play!

Looks fine to me, but Lucendar is the rules expert. I am sure he will critique your build thoroughly. Welcome to the team!!

Actually, I have a Class skill that negates the need for my ring of sustance, so i will change it to +1 armor, and a cloak of resist +1 :-)

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

I have a heavy week in classes this week, with a lot of work due. I will post as often as I can, but NPC me as needed.

Dhardra The Wise wrote:

I don't see the stats adding up. At 55 years of age, you receive -2 Str, Dex, and Con and +1 Int, Cha, and Wis. The way I see your starting stats is like this:

Str: 9-2=7
Dex: 16-2=14+2(belt)=16
Con: 16-2=14
Int: 9+1=10
Wis:16+2(human)+1(4th level)+1(age)=20
Cha:9+1=10

2 issues:
1. With 3 9s, you have 23 points to spend but 3 16s is 30 so you have overspent by 7!
2. Remember my rule: Only one starting stat can be below 10 (8 is the lowest), so you can't start with 3 9s.

Please correct.

The Age was just for Fluff, I didn't actually add in the Stat adjustments. I'll update the Age for no stats adjustments.

I forgot the no less than 8 rule, ><.
org buy was.

str 7 (-3)
dex 14 (+5)( +2 belt of dex) (16)
con 14 (+5)
int 10
wis 17 (13) +2 human, +1 lvl 4 (
cha 10

I'll update to:
Age: 30

str 9 (-1)
dex 13(+3)(+2 belt of dex) (15)
Con 14(+5)
int 10
Wis 17 (+13) +2 human, +1 lvl 4stat (20)
Cha 10

That should be 20 points.

Ah, ok. I like you being an elder in the tribe. I introduced you in game, in your mid-40s. No stat adjustments needed. You can post as needed and scratch off Burning Hands for today.

For Dhardra:
The vision: The desert warrior was close, as close as he had been those years growing up in the village, when he was a pebble's throw away, playing with his toys at the age of 3, while you studied the tribe's lore. But he was in danger, underground, in a gash in the desert from wherein it was said the breath of a god resided. It was there that Quzman would be, in a sea of ghoulish hands, and he needed your help. One had fallen already and more would follow if you did not act.

When you "awoke" from the vision, you knew what you had to do. You knew of the Refuge of Nethys, long ago abandoned. You remembered reading about it when you say baby Quzman playing, those long years ago. You rushed off to save him, saw the death outside, and went in....

Sorry for the delay gang, I went to the ER yesterday morning after passing out a Doctors office while they were taking blood for some tests. I have been pretty weak for the past two days, I will catch up soon. Hopefully tomorrow I will have more energy.

No problem, MD. I've been busy at work too this week, trying to get cases out before Tuesday when the fees increase. Hope you're feeling better soon.

No worries. I hope you feel better soon. With everything else you got going on, you don't need to push it too much.

Thanks for your patience. We got a bit of cold weather down here in Miami and I caught the flu.

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

Its all good, hope your back to feeling better!

Hope you are feeling better! The weather has been bizarre! I have family in Fort Myers, and it has been colder there than it has been here in Seattle.

Exam week is hitting me hard, especially with snow days and more potential closings. I hope to get a post up soon, but please know I will be back soon.

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

Sorry Gang, exams hit me hard and now I. Am having a lck of Internet. Should be resolved in a few days I will be back!

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

Okay I am back and up and running. I will try to catch up with the thread today or tomorrow. Sorry about the delay.

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

This week I am taking a one week course that will be super intensive, all semester done in one week. I will post as much as I can but I don't expect to have much free time. Move me along as needed if I can't post in time to keep the thread moving. I hope everyone has had a wonderful Holiday season.

What do you guys want to do? Continue? Wait for MD to finish out this week? Quzman said he has been busy too. Any input would be appreciated.
