No Just got a bit busy this weekend. I always try to post at least once each day but my schedule got the best of me this week.

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

I have a busy day today and will be traveling out of town so I probably wont be able to post today. Please Act for me as you see fit to keep the story going. Eli's goal is to grab the girl and get her back to her father as fast as possible.

Hey TDLofCC, sorry about that, but the rolls are the rolls, that's why I do them on the boards so everyone can see. Triple damage with a longbow is deadly. My first death on a PbP. Let me know how you want to proceed.

Ha .. no problem there m8 .. Adventurers often die unexpected.

And an arrow to the throat is somewhat letal :P

I can roll up another character if you want ... like to try one of the APGs if that allowed. Was thinking an alchemist ;)

Just let me know and I'll get to it.
In the meantime I'll keep on reading the topic.

Perhaps we should finish this over the mail ... would be easier and all imho.

And ofcourse no hard feelings ... onward to the next character :)

I think the sleep spell just turned the tide!

After that crit arrow shot, I was pretty nervous about the full round action in front of three bows, but I didn't see any other way to start changing the momentum...

The Half-Orc hasn't surrendered. But he must tend to the wounded. What's the Boss going to do, kill the unarmed priest in cold blood in the halls of his own temple while he is tending to a wounded man? How rude! At least Brebork has Orc ferocity left in him...there's a CLW vial right there - a spear to pick up for a last attack. Who knows what might happen? When do those other dudes wake up?

You're right, it would have been rude to shoot you...especially when I can threaten you much better with Quzman's life!

hp 55/55 AC: 26/17/21 F +5 R +11 W +6 {+4 vs bards/sonic/lang; +1 vs traps} Initiative + 4; Perception +9

This is a tough one gang, do we surrender and try to rescue Quzman later or do we keep this fight going. Both the fighters are down but if we get in close on this guy he might not be as effective. He is nasty with a bow but surrounded by blades he might not be as powerful. Our goal is to rescue the girl but I don't want to leave any of the party behind. What does everyone else think?

This fight is exciting! From 6 vs 1, it's down to 3 vs 1! You've got some good ideas there, Eli, though it doesn't look like surrender is an option anymore.

Male Half-Orc Cleric 2

Too late now. The fights on. At least we stopped him from finishing Quzman off, right? Once Dumah started casting - what else is he going to do but fight?

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

It's on like Donkey Kong!

Yep, if one of us walks out of this one alive, I will be surprised. This Boss fella seems to have our number! I was fully ready to negotiate, but we couldn't leave Quzman behind in his clutches.

I knew it was a huge longshot that I'd be able to get that spell off, but I figured he couldn't finish out Quzman and stop me in the same round.

Lucendar, you make go quickly from your first PC kill in a PbP to your first TPK in a PbP!

I doubt it, I don't have enough arrows! LOL...

Still really loving the adventure, Lucendar.

If we all make it out of this, I suppose we might have met a recurring villan! Cause things are not going to be set right until we kill The Boss for Kyra.

Good, I'm glad you're having fun.

It is a brutal game but I love the way the fights have played out good and bad.

It's DERBY day her in Louisville and I will be at a party for most of the day so I won't be able to post, maybe not until sometime tomorrow. Feel free to have Eli do anything you need him to do to kill this fellow and get April back to her father.

I never noticed you were in Louisville, MD. I am in London, KY myself. Got any tips for the race today?

Male

There .. I've submitted my new character.

Hope to introduce Gareth Dusaro, human paladin of Iomedae soon ;)

Welcome to 2nd level! Update your profiles. Roll hps here (minimum is 1/2 die for those who roll poorly).

Here is my second level hit point roll.

1d8 ⇒ 6

Hit Points 1d6 ⇒ 6

Yee haw!!!

HP 63/63; AC: 25(23)/15/21(19); F+7/R+9/W+4; Init: +3 (+5); Percep: +11 (+13)

Hit points: 1d10 ⇒ 3

And my rolling luck continues...thankfully it's not as bad as it could be.

Quzman Garhani wrote:

Quzman, raise to 5, the minimum.

Jarva gained 7 skill points. He bumped 5 of his original ranks, and added one rank each in Fly and Ride. I added one orison known and one spell known. For today I added Light, and Produce Flame as the two.

I was thinking of Produce Flame as creating a superhot burst of sand, rather than fire. I think that would work well with Jarva's sand focus, if that is cool with you GM.

Druids don't get a feat this level, so other than the BAB and ST improvement, that is about it.

Thanks Jarva, the new and extra spells factor in the next day, so for now, you still have your 1st level spell selection until you rest. Yes, that burst of sand looks cool, definitely!

Gotcha on the new spells, DM. Just listing them for completeness's sake. For today I still have the two entangle spells left, and that is all, other than my orisons.

Cool and don't forget your "desert stride" ability either at 2nd level.

Yeah, that's what I meant. It's been adjust on his sheet (he's at 17 HP now). I adjusted my skills, and added the ranger bonus feat (double slice).

Thanks, Quzman. Good use of the obscuring mist, Jarva, as well. May have saved the party.

Thanks, Lucindar. That's what I was setting up in the previous round when I attempted to talk for a round, after double moving, to let me move into range for it.

All I was hoping he would decide we were more trouble than we were worth, as I don't think Eli and me, even full strength could have taken him down alone. Let alone if the archers had woken back up.

Sorry I didn't see this. I didn't have any tips anyway since I am not a big horse race fan. We have only lived here just over a year and will probably move once my wife finishes her degree. London is a bit far from here isn't it, closer to Lexington? I lived there several years ago before moving up to Florence and then down here to Louisville.

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

Okay Lucendar, I have a question before I choose how to level up. When I first built this character it was for another PBP that failed in the first 25 posts and at that time the group didn't have any spell casters. I tweaked my background to account for the possibility of becoming a sorcerer and selected my preferred class as sorcerer which I didn't think about when I started this game. Since the role play so far has lent itself for Eli becoming a Bard would you care if I changed my preferred class to bard and take a level there (or at least let me switch my preferred class to rogue since we don't need me to be a sorcerer for this party)?

London is about 2 hours from the 'ville, MD. I lived in Lexington for about the last decade before moving to London for a new job.

Wow a good chance we were there at the same time. Did you ever shop at the Electronics Boutique? I worked there when it reopened after closing as a Waldensoftware.

I'm sure I did at some point in time. Gotta get my xbox 360 games! Are you talking about the one in the mall? That's the only one I know of in Lex-town.

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

Yeah, in Fayette Mall. I was the manager there when the PS2 was released.

Either one is fine, your choice.

Male Half-Orc Cleric 2

OK. Brebork has learned his lesson after the treachery of Zedric.

I think a rank in Sense Motive makes sense.
Sense Motive +7 (WIS +3, Rank +1, Class +3)

Surrounded by the relics and panoply of the temple, Brebork regains insight into the forgotten lessons of Sunday School in Katapesh. Now a lone Missionary, he craves the Religious study he neglected as a child among more studious peers.

Knowledge Religion: +4 (Rank +1, Class +3)

The rigours of battle have toughened up the big half-orc
Class bonus rank goes to add a hit point.

Hit points added: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7 for 16 HP

I must say I have really enjoyed this time so far. Great stuff from everyone. Thanks! I know I sometimes get ahead of myself - timing my posts and all - I'm still a noob with this stuff - by I'll eventually get it! I need to take a break here. I shall update the profile and select my spells in a few hours.

+1 BAB, +1 Will, +8 Hit Points (6 rolled, +2 CON)

Skill Points to (including favored class bonus):
Knowledge Arcana
Linguistics
Spellcraft
Perception
Knowledge Nobility
Knowledge Dungeoneering
Knowledge Geography
Knowledge Engineering
Knowledge Nature

He currently knows the languages of Common, Draconic, Giant, Gnoll, Dwarven, Elven. He needs to pick one more, and I'll work on that.

For his two new spells, he's taking Magic Missile as his obligatory Evocation spell. I'll try to get the other one selected tonight.

Male

DM: Would this mean that the new character that will join the party soon (;)) is also 2nd level ?

And how does that work with starting gold if so.

Nice going all ... can't wait to rejoin :)

Alright, I am going to go with bard. Deffinatly not the way I originaly saw the character going but based on the play so far I think it makes a lot of sense.

I think I'll go with Grease for his second new spell. I'm a little at a loss for picking another language. Can you recommend anything? If not, I'll probably start collecting the languages for the outer planes starting with Infernal.

hp 55/55 AC: 26/17/21 F +5 R +11 W +6 {+4 vs bards/sonic/lang; +1 vs traps} Initiative + 4; Perception +9

Added one level of Bard as favored class chose the extra skill point.

8 skill points -- Bluff, Knowledge arcane, perception, sense motive, spellcraft, stealth, knowledge local, perform

+2 to REF and WILL

Added new class skills

Chose spells known
Cantrip: daze, lullaby, read magic, mage hand
1st: charm person, hypnotism

HD = 1d8
1d8 ⇒ 6

Does anyone want the +1 Dagger? Jarva could use it, as I forgot to get a regular dagger when buying equipment, but I would still attack with my scimitar mostly. If anyone else wants it to use, let me know.
