DM, how much gold for 3rd level characters? Book says 3000 and I want to be sure that is right,

3000 is correct, Gerald.

Male Human Unchained Monk 6 | AC 21/21/17 | HP 66/66 | F+7, R+10, W+7 | Evasion | +2 on saves v. Enchantment spells and effects | Immune to all diseases, magical and supernatural | Init. +4; Perception +12 | CMD 27 | Speed 50'.

DM, here is Gerald's fighter. Please check him over carefully for me. Like I said this is my first non caster, non monk in Pathfinder. Thanks.

200 posts in the campaign - phew that's great!

M almost human

And the boards ate my edited post - 2000 I meant.

2000! Wow! We're in the top 27 of all time....and climbing!

Gerald, it looks good, didn't see any problems. You have so much gold left, why don't you pay 300 gp to make the longbow masterwork? It will give you another +1 to hit. I like the look and concept.

That's a good point, DM. Truth to tell, I hadn't even thought of that! I will make the adjust ment when I get home this evening. Just tell me when you are ready to introduce me, so I will know to look at the thread. Thanks.

Hey Gerald, looking good. I just noticed a quick little thing. You're greatsword would be 2d6+3 on damage, since it's wielded in 2 hands. Can hardly wait for another guy to stand in front =p.

I know you're ranged, but still ;)

Thanks sniggs...that;s is exactly the type of rookie mistake I was afraid I would make.

Looks like you have a great new character to add to the party. I hope he shows up in time to kick some gnoll hide.

I am just waiting on the okay from the DM and word how he wants to introduce me...

Your character will be making an appearance shortly, Gerald. I will try to make it dramatic.

Haha, that sounds cool, DM. Take your time, I'll be here.

Just to let you know, I will be out from July 10th until 25th to a nice cottage in the Lake District - without any internet access. So please NPC Bahiyy from next Saturday on. I will miss a lot certainly.

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

I really love the RP that this thread is allowing us to have, Eli sure has changed from the way I first envisioned him which I think is a testament to the great story telling we have going on here. Let's go kick some gnoll booty.

So, are the characters in concensus on how to proceed?

M almost human

Ready to roll.

If anyone is interested... I am also playing in a PbP here on the Paizo boards run by Nazard, and he is looking to recruit two new players (one melee person and one cleric/druid person). For some reason we've lost several players and I'm not sure why that is.

The thread so far is Arcadia - Land of Opportunity. The characters are now 2nd level, and so far we have just travelled across the ocean and make landfall on Arcadia. The characters are in their first day of exploring the land.

Arcadia OOC thread if you are interested...

Just out of curiosity, is dealing with the forces here in the town the end of the first module?

Just a headsup. I'll be moving this weekend, so I likely won't be able to post after work today until late in the weekend, or perhaps Monday. Feel free to DM PC if you need to!

Nope, there's a little more after that.

How long ago did the gnolls take the village? I cant seem to locate that in my notes or the thread anywhere. Thanks

About 20 years ago. In fact, six months after the Pactmaster Guard's intervention.

So the pactmasters invaded to shut down the temple and the bodies lay in the village for 6 months before the gnolls invaded? Im I correct in this assumtion? I concede that it may be a wrong assumption but is it a logical assumption to make from the facts I have? I just want to be sure Im not starting off on a line of thought on player miss understanding.

The bodies laid in the Church for 6 months prior to the invasion. Perhaps, the Church was sealed after the Guard came in??

Cool, thanks. I was thinking the same thing but didn't want to roleplay it if I as a player was way off base and not interpreting the clues well. A post soon to follow.

Hey Pinkie, are you pondering what I'm pondering?

I thinks so Brain. but where are we going to find a Monkey Goblin in a pink Tu-Tu?

You might be surprised by the answer to that. Yes, surprised indeed.

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

Just curious, why does Dumah think that somehting is happening between Tempest and Eli?

Two reasons. First, Tempest was a magic item that he wasn't able to identify completely; it has some power in reserve which makes him suspicious. He has similar misgivings about the mace, which has an evocation property I don't believe has been ID'd yet. Second, I believe it was the harpy that said the gnoll leader was somehow changed after acquiring the axe at the church and going by the name of an ancient genie who wielded the axe. Combine that with the way Eli came into possession of Tempest, it makes Dumah concerned about possession or magical domination. I added the line about the suspicion at that point in the conversation because Eli was advocating going into the place where the axe came from. And even though Eli’s logic for exploring the church is sound, Dumah is still concerned that there may be some elusive connection between the church, the axe and Tempest that may have consequences. So essentially, Dumah is not certain if Eli is suggesting the church because of his logical reason or if Tempest might be prompting it.

And just to clarify, that is Dumah's thinking. I as a player suspect there is some properties of Tempest that will be revealed when leveling up, meeting certain encounters or going to particular locations. The way you've been roleplaying Eli has been consistent from start to finish, so I don't suspect there's any DM passing notes to the player behind the scenes on this one, unless you are just that great at seamlessly blending it in.

I'm back from vacation, so I will read the thread and get a post up asap. Thanks for the insight markofbane, I love the fact that Dumah is reading that into it and can't wait to see where the role-playing takes it.

Welcome back!

Yes, Dumah is only 18 years old. I decided that he is very insecure about things he doesn't know about; he assumes his extensive education and reading have prepared him for anything and is shaken when it hasn't. He also feels like he knows Eli well since they've been through such strife together, however when he looks at it objectively they've only known each other a matter of days.

I'm happy to be back in the game guys. Thanks to Lucendar for getting me back in! You all did really well against that undead baddie. Congrats...

Thanks! It is good to have you back. And as a player, I still have no idea what that undead critter was... I'm just glad it is gone!

Sorry for the lack of response guys. My internet has crashed at home. I will try and catch up in the thread at work today and post something. Otherwise, Lucendar, could you please DMNPC Quzman as needed.

I'm trying to get Comcast on the phone to deal with this, as it appears the cable modem totally crashed the other day. It maybe a few days to get a new one.

I have to say it again, I love this game!!. Lucendar, awsome the way you killed off Brebork. It is realing streaching me to roleplay Eli in ways I didn't expect and that is making this thread so much FUN to be apart of. I also cant wait to see where Dumahs distrust of the effect of Tempest will go, we have some exciting sub-plots flowing along the main story. Keep up the great work all!

I sympathize, Sniggevert. I have been trying to get home internet up for about a week now. Most of it is just my fault, making time to stay on hold with Comcast long enough to get assistance.

Thanks for the compliment! I hoped that's the way you would see it and that scene with Garavel was so cool! I imagined it on a movie screen when you grabbed him by the collar and he forcefuly pushed your hands away! Love the rping! And I saw the surprise attack on the monastery and Brebork's subsequent death as logical (after all, you can't just attack and deplete the enemy's forces and not expect retaliation), and Brebork's death was a great way to build up the revenge factor!

OK, I really feel stupid about this one. Last night, after shutting itself off in stages the night before, I noticed that all of a sudden the lights started coming back on the modem as we got back from dinner. I dug under the desk, and the dog had evidently jiggled her bed which was by the power cord and caused it to reconnect.

It appears that my whole problem was caused by the dog chewing on a rawhide treat down by the power strips and over time she had managed to work the plug for the modem out of the strip. The last night it was acting up was when the battery in the modem must have finally crashed completely, so even the phones went out.

Long babble short, I hope to be able to keep on track now. Let's get some gnolls =p.

Yep Revenge, but for my choatic alignment I am going at it will out a plan. This could get wild.

Hey guys, tonight's my RL RP group, so I will not be able to post till midnight. If Eli has not posted by then, I will proceed with combat and assume he is delaying.

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

Sorry I misssed out on some action. I'm feeling better now but the past two days I have been suffering a massive headache that came out of nowhere. I spent most of Sunday asleep and yesterday was still very tired and didn't want to even look at a computer screen. It seems like you did everything I would have done, thanks for makeing Eli post some actions. Please feel free if I haven't posted in day to make Eli peform the most logical action. I usualy try to check the thread at least once a day, ususualy twice, but sometimes things happen and I dont want the game held up on my account.

Lucendar,

I had a question about the achievement feats in the LoF player's guide. Are these permitted as the requirements are met? I was semi-aiming towards the gnoll killer one for Quzman.

Loving how this is playing out.

You beat me to the punch, I was going to suggest them to you. Yes, they are available, so keep track of the kills.

Alright, I am back and read through the posts. Well done guys, and, with the results show, which spells are worthy to memorize.

Welcome back!

Hey guys,

I just wanted to let you know that I will be out most all day today, and will not be back near a computer till tomorrow night or Sunday. Please use Quzman as needed.

Thanks!

Totally busy weekend, if you continue, just play Bahiyy as needed, will hope to post eventually, but it is more hope then anything else...
