DM, do you have any problem with Eli taking a level in fighter? I am working towards the Duelist Prestige Class and since I spend a lot of time on the front line I'd like the bonus feat, and hopefully some decent hp.

Sure, go for it!

With manyshot, I am going to have 4 arrows in the air a ton, so if anyone else can carry some arrows for me, I'd appreciate it. I can only lug about 40 right now, and someone else could get 20 here or there, that would be awesome.

Jameena has a quiver, she hardly ever uses. You are welcome to store some arrows there.

I will use this same rule for ranger animal companions, if Quzman wishes to replace Ky in the future.

Happy 1000th OOC post...woo hoo!

Sounds good Lucendar. I was assuming it would be something like this, and therefore was going to wait till we have a full break in the action to bring it up.

At 7th level, Dumah is planning on taking craft wondrous items, so he could make quivers. The bummer about that is it only holds 60 arrows. That's barely enough for a skirimish for most mid- to high-level archers. What he really needs is a handy haversack where he can stuff hundreds of arrows.

Who amongst the warrior types could make best use of the long spear? Frankly, at this point, Dumah sees the spear and ring and thinks "Cha-ching!" Sell those babies for some coinage!

But until we do reach civilization, who already has two rings on? That would narrow who can wear this one.

Jameena would be next to worthless with the spear, but she will gladly take the ring. A little cold resistance will go nicely with her fire resistance.

How does extra attacks and multiclassing work in Pathfinder. I seem to re call in older versions of the game a chart that applied CL in determinning those extra attacks that some classes start getting at 6th level. I looked through the PDR but can't seem to find anything about it.

Basically, when your combined BAB adds to +6, you get a second attack. It'd be +6/+1. Then again at +11, etc. Since Eli's had at least 2 levels of +0 (rogue 1 and bard 1), it'd be at least 8th before he'd get to +6 BAB =/.

As Sniggevert stated, you need a +6 Base attack to get a second attack and Eli only has +4.

Cool, I didn't think I got them yet since I am heavy on the roguish side of things, but I wanted to be sure I hadn't missed or misremembered anything.

Everyone OK with Jameena putting on the ring for now? Also, if we all agree on selling the spear, I'm going to roleplay making Lassarak an offer for it, and see if he's willing to trade it for something else (some other item/weapon or some more gems).

I would be okay with Jameena taking the ring and seeing if they will negotiate for the spear.

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

I'm cool with Jamenna taking the Ring. If no one wants the spear I think offering it to Lassarak is a good idea, he'd probably pay more for it than an outside vendor since it was the weapon of his former leader. It could be seen as a symbol of status to him.

I like both ideas, Jace.

Jameena is updated to level 6. I'm thinking of switching the Diseased Mercy with either Staggered or Sickened.

Diseased: I'm immune to all diseases, and we can get scrolls and use the heal skill for you.

Staggered: Less common than sickened, but much worse, IMO.

Sickened: Just a -2, but comes up more often, and allows for the Nauseated mercy at 9th.

Thoughts?

I think I might like sickened a little better, but diseased is good, too. You don't see staggered very much, so I think that one would rank third to me.

Okay, so I am an idiot. I've been shorting Dumah hit points.

For levels 2 through 6, I have not added the bonus hit point for the Finding Haleen trait. Also, at sixth level I added a roll of 1, when for this campaign it should be a minimum of half, which is 3 for Dumah.

So, do you want me to leave it as it is, and just remember going forward? Do you want me to fix the total for leveling up to 6th (+3: +1 trait and +2 for minimum roll)? Or do you want me to fix it going back (+8 hit points: +1 trait for levels 2 through 6 and +2 for minimum roll at 6th)?

Sorry about that.

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

I think you should get all the hp retroactive, you were entitled to them but you forgot to add them so you have been playing at a disadvantage for a while.

Dumah, fix it going back. No problem.

Guys, I will be out of town till Tuesday night or Wednesday. I will post upon my return.

Sweet, looks like I won't have to work quite so hard trying to keep Dumah alive. :-D

Have a nice trip, Lucendar.

DON'T underestimate the squishiness of the wizard in your group! :)

Have a great trip!

I am back and I won my case, so I am re-energized! I will make post with map tonight when I get home. I assume you all went through portal, no apparent danger in the room, other than you are in the House of the Beast, the lair of the Gnoll King!! Bwahahaha!!

Congrats! Lawyer or plaintiff?

I'm an immigration lawyer

Congratulations! Can I ask if you are defending or prosecuting?

On a separate note, I just got my ticket to Paizocon. Any of the Sand Stalkers (or our fearless GM) going his year?

I'm a private attorney, defending,. The prosecutors work for the fed government. I had not planned to go. When and where is it this year?

Lucendar wrote:

Bellevue, Washington. June 10-12. Details here.

This is the first year I'll be attending, even though it is right here in my backyard.

Sounds like a blast MoB, but I will not be attending this year. Too busy q\around the homeplace...

I wish I could afford it and had the time. It's a bit of trek for me (Indiana here), but I'd love to actually go to one of those. Went to my first con in March (a semi-local smaller free con), and had a blast playing all weekend and meeting several of the folks from the boards.

Sounds like fun, but I'll pass, never really been a convention type person.

I totally get it. I'm fortunate that I'm local to it, so it costs me the $35 ticket, plus gas to cross Lake Washington to attend. If I had to pay for airfare and a hotel, I certainly couldn't do it comfortably right now.

hp 61/61, AC 22/15/17, F +13 R +12 W +11 Init: +4, Perception: +0

First round of combat, and already one of us one-shotted into negative hp. I sense a nasty pattern forming here.

Let me just say, I'm glad I found that hit point error on Dumah, because I think I'm going to need them!

The minotaur hits hard but will go down under your combined might. And I did roll 2 19s to hit!

Probably true. But for me, it conjures an image of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, where soldiers are sent into the tunnel, only to have their head roll out moments later. Then another "volunteer" is called for. :(

Edit: I suppose the equivelant would be us finding the Carrion King, getting a surprise round, and having Ty take him down with an arrow in each eye before he can blink. :)

Fair enough, I get your point. But fear is a good thing...

Yes, it makes the game exciting knowing there are consequences. Some of the best moments of our game have been deadly or nearly deadly (the demon with the halberd, Lynxian, etc.).

Sorry! I know this is a tense, dramatic scene, but this totally cracked me up! Jameena defiantly says "Stay behind me! This beast will not pass my blade," just an moment before Eli charges straight past her! Priceless!

Jameena must be asking herself Does that one speak common?

hp 61/61, AC 22/15/17, F +13 R +12 W +11 Init: +4, Perception: +0

There must be some kind of bug on the forums. I could have sworn I typed "Stay behind me!". But it seems like that somehow got translated to "Please, dear squishy bard/rogue with even fewer hp and worse AC than the ranger that lies dying on the floor. By all means run up and take a nice AoO before you position yourself to receive a nice, brutal full attack."

Sigh....you guys are just determined to make me earn my keep as a healer, arn't you.

Maybe that's why we've gone through so many healers... But Eli has always been a character of passions, so its hard to fault him. :)

LOL!!! This was hilarious, had me laughing so hard, my wife asked me to tell her the joke!

Yeah, in the image in my mind, Eli runs past her so fast, her hair and the hem of her cloak are flapping in the breeze he creates. :)

And I am at work, trying to keep it together.

Edit: And, from a tactical perspective, Eli probably just stopped a coupe de grace.

hp 61/61, AC 22/15/17, F +13 R +12 W +11 Init: +4, Perception: +0

I'm laughing as well. I think I'm going to let Quzman and Eli (pretty much taking it for granted that he will be knocked out before my next turn here) lie in the nice safety of unconsciousness while the rest of us proceed to smack down this badguy.

Then I'm going to heal both of them, pound them unconscious again and then heal them once again. And THEN have a stern chat with them about the virtue of proper tactics and coordinated team combat.

hp 61/61, AC 22/15/17, F +13 R +12 W +11 Init: +4, Perception: +0

I'm starting to see why the Sand Stalkers needed a new healer....and why they keep dying.

Jameena Al'Qadr wrote:

Oh, I don't know. Eli has a few tricks up his sleeve, and Lucendar did roll two 19s...

And I think our first two deaths were critical hits with x3 weapons (Kyra and Jarva).

RPG Superstar 2008 Top 16

You can try to talk sense into Eli but he is a gambler at heart, and a bit of an adrenalin junkie. His motto is "Life ain't worth living if it doesn't have a little risk."

I had to re-post my action, since I can't move close enough to attack it, staying with the emotion I changed it to him running up to heal Quzman.

Hey guys, advice time/math questions.

With Manyshot now in effect for Ty, exactly what would his damage be for his first arrow in a full round attack, assuming it hit? If the damage done is normally 1d8 + 11, would that first arrow now do 2d8 + 22? If so, that is quite a feat!

If the first attack roll is a hit, you roll damage twice. You need to keep them separate in case of a Deflect Arrow feat, Damage Reduction, etc. But yes, instead of potentially doing 1d8+11 three times instead of two.

Thanks MoB, like I told you all a while ago, this is one of my first non-casters, and 6th level is definitely the highest level I have played a noncaster in PF.
