Roke Rostlander |

I enjoy reading your RP - in this particular case, Roke doesn't feel like it's his area of expertise (in contrast, for example, when talking with their new fey "friends").

Kazmuk Doortsgarf |

The time it will take the letter to reach them (Brunderton is about 80 miles North from Restov) and for them to make the trip to Oleg's needs still to be determined by the GM. From the point they receive the letter, it will take at least 2 days for them to organize themselves (maximum recruiting time of these teams).
DM, I believe Kazmuk's teams have not arrived yet, correct?

DM Rostam |

Sorry for the wait. The teams for the gold mine will arrive on Gozran 26. I've put it in the calendar for reference. I know its a bit meta-game to let you know but I find a bit of meta0gaming is for the best sometimes.
Also, I'm sorry again for the delays. I've been hosting my mom on and off for the last week for doctors visits and trying to keep up with normal stuff has been rushed as it is. I will try to post something tomorrow if its relevant, if not keep planning amongst yourselves.

Kazmuk Doortsgarf |

During these days of work, Kazmuk's first team of craftspeople will produce 2 Goods and 3 Labor. Deducing 50gp from Kaz' pouch!
Forge is 8/20 in construction.

Roke Rostlander |

Traveling through Monday, so carry on without me. Roke is excited to get back to exploring!

Kazmuk Doortsgarf |

Will wait for them to answer Roke before Kazmuk gives them the ring... I imagine the will, like children gaining a new toy, completely forget everything else.

DM Rostam |

If anyone is interested, I'm recruiting a level 4 character for an Ironfang Invasion campaign that's near the end of Book 1. More info here: Recruitment

Sir Andreas Eisfalke Von Ulm |

I will be away till Monday or Tuesday for some vacation time.
I will be able to post but when I will be free is a different story.
Most likely late at night.
I will have a post up tonight

![]() |

ok have a good time.

![]() |

Sorry all I lost internet for a few days. I'll just go read and catch up.
Hey Eisfalke Rowany festival the big event Australia, just got cancelled, twitch.. twitch.. gah....

Sir Andreas Eisfalke Von Ulm |

I am sorry to hear that.
The Midrealm canceled all events that have more 250 people in attendance. Gulf wars was canceled the day before it was to start.
SCA event all of the US are being canceled...our local fighter practice has been canceled until after the Easter holiday.

DM Rostam |

I'm just waiting on someone to declaratively state they do something. From my perspective, I've got Roke and Gird suggestion going after the boar, Andreas prefering not to, and the others standing to the side. I just need some one to say 'I do X' and I'll run with that.
On another note, I hope everyone is doing well with the current COVID-19 situation.

Rillka Cloudhopper |

I think we need to make camp here for the night; it is already afternoon, lets get set up and prepare for whatever option we choose; although a scouting+boar hunt combo seems like the most popular option...

DM Rostam |

I'll post tomorrow to give everyone some more time to react. Just a reminder that if combat start I'll post daily and bot as necessary.
If a slower pace is necessary right now them let me know, I'm just not sure what to make of the... lower level of engagement recently.
If you would like to suggest changes to how I pace the game or deliver information let me know as well. I can always improve to make the game more engaging.

Roke Rostlander |

Sorry for slow posting - trying to do my job and watch my kid half the day is meaning I have less time on the boards. I don't have any real advice, except to say I don't mind pushing a little faster.

Sir Andreas Eisfalke Von Ulm |

If a slower pace is necessary right now them let me know, I'm just not sure what to make of the... lower level of engagement recently.
I also have no problems with the way things are...but would not mind also moving along faster.

Roke Rostlander |

I think I put my finger on my lack of engagement: Caster Druids are no fun at low level combat! 2E has spoiled me with the worthwhile cantrips.

Rillka Cloudhopper |

Rodents love electric cables in general, but there has been a shift to soy based coatings... that didn't end well. Christmas lights, automobiles, garden lights. Fortunately power lines are too big to bite.
Shocking I know...

There's images and videos of stupid squirrels that have electrocuted themselves, them seem to be stupider than rats.

DM Rostam |

I am not sure what I can do at this point to help keep things moving. In the last 17 days there have been 20 posts, which is barely more than 1 per day. I can simply jump faster between encounters if that is what is desired, but in general I need more input from you as players to manage the game.
I also know that I am not 100% free of this as well, and my posting schedule could be more frequent. However, to make the most out of the times I can commit I need a large body of responses to work with. And the more you all interact with each other the lower the work load is for myself as well, as I then simply need to keep the conversation going instead of trying to get it started
If it is my style of gameplay or posting that is causing a lack of engagement then please give me constructive feedback as to what can be done.
If people are simply busy with summer, then we can take a break for a few weeks and reconvene instead of struggling with the low post volume.
One thing I am going to do is institute the inactivity rule I am using in my other game. If you do not post for 7 days without giving prior warning then I will phase you out of the game. If you come back and there's a good reason (the bar is pretty low) you can happily come back, but I need a cut off time period so that I know when I can stop considering or waiting for people to contribute.
Please let me know your thoughts on the above.

Rillka Cloudhopper |

My work schedule has kept me from logging on during the day, so I have been spotting posting - plus I did not want to take too much away from what I saw as the "event" of the fey killing someone... but I did enjoy the talk with Kazmuk and Akiros very much!
Hopefully things will pick up a bit as we move forward.

Sir Andreas Eisfalke Von Ulm |

Sorry.
I wanted to respond to this last night but fell asleep.
I think you have done a great job of keeping things going and providing us with encounters to RP, fight etc...
I think it has been us that has not stepped up.
I am at fault as I felt that the group took off without letting others know what is going on...(no one needed to) So part of the party was not sure what was going on and I just hung out there waiting for someone to include me into the situation. This is my fault and my mistake alone.
I will strive to help the encounters move along better and try to keep things moving along.

Kazmuk Doortsgarf |

For my part, the whole Covid thing has definitely slowed me down.
On the other hand, there are occasions that I feel I have nothing to add and then I keep silence despite checking what is going on.
I'd suggest we post something ooc that states when we are done with the current scene and that we can fast forward. As an example, I also enjoyed the talk with Rillka and Akiros, but then felt that we could have fast forwarded the feast.

Roke Rostlander |

My apologies as well. This past week was particularly crazy, but more because my wife was super busy which meant I had less time at the computer.
GM, I really appreciate your sticking with this group for so long, I know many APs fizzle long before now.
Also a shout out to Kaz and Ril for a great conversation that was fun to read!
Maybe it wasn't clear, but Roke intentionally didn't invite others because he thinks you're terrible with the fey and likely to makes things worse not better when it comes to them.
That all said, I think perhaps this AP in PbP just isn't for me. Maybe it's that playing a full caster at low level for this long is frustrating, maybe it is the sandbox nature in PbP, not sure. It certainly isn't for a lack of good characters and a committed GM. This murder by the fey might be a good place for Roke to exit stage left. You all deserve a better participant.

I shall attempt to pick up my posting pace

DM Rostam |

Thank you for the responses. Thank you for the cotes of confidence, and know that I have been enjoying this so far and want to continue it, hence starting the discussion.
Roke, if you feel you want to be written out of the game then we can work that in. Just keep your date with the fey at the fallen tree when you are ready. Just know that I have enjoyed playing with you and wish you well in your future endeavors.

Zade Lebeda |

Hey y'all. I've been thinking about it since last week, and I'm going to bow out. You are all wonderful, but I was into this AP for the idea of kingdom building, and I'm having trouble motivating myself to really engage with the other parts of this adventure.
You folks have been great, and you deserve someone who's into this 100%.
I'll write up a post to make my exit.

Kazmuk Doortsgarf |

I feel the necessity to say that despite losing both Roke and Zade, I'm still interested into the game.
If no one else decides to bow out, we'll still be a 4 person group and a pretty functional one, with a cavalier, cleric, inquisitor and sorcerer.

Rillka Cloudhopper |

I am enjoying the adventure and the interactions.
I certainly enjoyed both Roke and Zade, and the character that they brought to the party. It was fun adventuring with them, and perhaps our trails through the Stolen Lands or elsewhere will again cross. I also understand that campaigns have to be fun and not all games suit every player. So I thank you for the shared adventure and I wish you both the best!!

Sir Andreas Eisfalke Von Ulm |

Four players is a good mix but I have found that the normal AP was not well written for four players. That is just my opinion.
Now four players will never make it through the slew of Orcs and Bandits that are waiting for us. Again this is my opinion and I doubt that our DM (who has done a wonderful job of keeping us on our toes.) will continue without adjusting the dangers to a manageable threat for four players. I am totally fine with recruiting two more players.

Aye more players is good.

I have GMed this AP before and I believe many of the dangers we are facing are actually of the GM creation, probably to change the encounters from 4 players to 6. As far as I remember, the AP is not easy, but also far from difficult to 4 players.
That being said, I'm not against inviting more players. I like 5-players games, while 6 appears to be too much IMO. Nevertheless, if there is an open recruitment, I believe it would be important for us to keep moving forward as 4 and the additional player(s) join us when possible.

Roke Rostlander |

I just realized.... Kazmuk and Rillka are Flint and Tas.
Tas = Tasslehoff Burrfoot? Those books are why I play this game.

Rillka Cloudhopper |

@Roke - yes!!
Me too, The Dragonlance series was my favorite for years, and how I started playing "that other game" back in the day! I was always a fan of Sturm.
Rostam - previous party member Annurian (skinwalker) rejoined a different game (differnt character) and may be interested in rejoining here if you are looking...

DM Rostam |

Okay, so I posted a kind vague update just so everyone knows where they stand. Roke/Zade feel free to continue to post for a bit or simply make your exit.
On the topic of new players, I will hold an open recruitment and then pick one or two from those that apply. I will likely start recruitment around July 5/6 and run it for two weeks.
While recruitment is running I'll keep the game going while the four remaining players do basically whatever you want to.
Next, I am going on a 5 day hiking trip from Saturday to Wednesday (kinda snuck up on me sorry for the short notice) then going on a canoe trip next week Saturday/Sunday, and owe a buddy a Warhammer game the Friday night, so I can really only post next week Thursday. So I think the best way forward is for me to take all of next week off while you four plan out your next moves, then I can come back and try to get us moving again on July 5/6 as well.
I will likely have some cell service, so I will be able to check posts occasionally if you have any questions.
And finally, thank you Roke and Zade for having played. I enjoyed it. Also, feel free to stop by and chat here anytime you want to. If you end up wanting to try again message me and I will see if you can get reintroduced.

Tis ok gm i'm kinda really really busy this week so your timing is great, have fun.
