I agree all, i'm v busy atm..

Kazmuk Doortsgarf |

Will we emerge on area Z7 or on the outisde, between the palisade the the walls?

Kazmuk Doortsgarf |

About Allyo, all his aliases (20!) have the same post/date and he has not returned.
I like Allyo, but perhaps we need to recruit again, since he is a month late... not that it would matter too much at this point, since this time doesn't appear to be a good time for another PC to join us.

Rillka Cloudhopper |

https://paizo.com/campaigns/Kingmaker4t9lw/discussion&page=25#1223
So page 25, post 1223 was Allyo's message. He is not back in the other PBP I knew him from either.
I defer to Rostam on recruitment, but like the different interactions from larger groups -even if it makes taking actions longer sometimes.

DM Rostam |

I would prefer a fifth player as well. 5-6 seems better than 4 to me usually.
I can start recruitment for one or if any of you have someone you'd like me to reach out to let me know. I will be away the first two weeks of August so a new player won't realistically join until after that. I'd start up a recruitment when I return and run it for two weeks to see who'd like to join. I imagine a lot of people make it to about this point and then the game drops off, so there's likely to be a good number of people wanting in.
On another note, I am going to be trying to "narrative" for lack of a better word. I think having me take a bit more initiative on getting between encounters will increase the pace a little without stepping on peoples toes decision wise. Let me know what you think of it as we go, I am always willing to adjust, and 4 years into DMing PbP there's still a lot to dial in on what works best.

Rillka Cloudhopper |

I will be on vacation the first week of August too.
I appreciate your efforts to lead the game, includeing us in the gameplay pace and style discussions, and look forward to trying the narrative style of play. Thank you!

Kazmuk Doortsgarf |

Posting to say that I'm following, just don't have much to add, since I'm slow and noisy.

Kazmuk Doortsgarf |

Is it raining enough that one of us could stand where the guard was and pass for him?

Kazmuk Doortsgarf |

I was under the impression that reinforcements will come at any moment and that we are basically in a round-by-round mode at this point. For this reason, I've made Kazmuk move as soon as possible.
If there is time for us to have long conversations, cool, Kazmuk will wait. Otherwise, he'll keep moving, considering he has the slowest move speed of the group.
If we are indeed in a hurry, Andreas would have to make a grapple or something like that to stop Kazmuk.
I have not moved Kazmuk because I'm uncertain of where is the path towards the other tower.

DM Rostam |

While I don't have you in initiative directly there is not a lot of time available either.
There are essentially 2 routes available to get to the last tower, either hop from Z3b or Z2b onto Z4 and run to the bridge at the north end or go down to ground level and up the stairs.
Z4 has a 3ish foot ledge around it so jumping from a tower/bridge wall to the roof of Z4 is about the same height and about 5 feet across.
At this point I'd like everyone to move their models and make appropriate skills checks if required. More than 10-15 words will count as movement here, I basically need you next actions before moving on.

Kazmuk Doortsgarf |

Ok. Moved Kazmuk to the Z3b tower, since he'd have no movement this turn to jump over the ledge to Z4.
With this information about the word count and rounds, it is clear that Andreas would not have time to give his speech (he'd take between 4 and 6 rounds just talking). Perhaps Gird would not have retreated from Z3b and would already be dealing with the last guard then?

DM Rostam |

I'd say the speech stands, I'm not going to retroactively apply stuff like that.
Generally what I will do is let people do what they want then give them a "hurry up" warning (like the above). Time is a bit loose in pathfinder anyway so when I manage it is generally just alternate between 'do what you want' and 'give me an action immediately' otherwise I'd lose my mind.

DM Rostam |

I'll be unavailable until Monday.
Also, I would like to get back to at least 2-3 posts per week. We have slowed down to 1-2 (and that is partially on my busy summer) but I would like to pick it up again. Let me know if that works or not.
Another also, I will be looking for a new player in the next couple weeks. If you have anyone you'd like to invite let me know.

DM Rostam |

I have another player lined up already. Sorry if that puts anyone you you were talking to.
I had asked someone a couple weeks ago and they just got back to me after having some notification issues. It will likely be a week or two before they are introduced in game at this point, but reinforcements are coming!

Kazmuk Doortsgarf |

Good news on the new player!
My posting ability goes up and down, according to the whims of our 6 months baby. Will try to up the frequency.

Hallo there.
I'm the new guy :-)
I've played with the DM (or Ansgar, as I know them) for a couple of years in another pbp campaign that died, so when they asked if I wanted to join (and I finally saw the message) I happily agreed!
A little about me. Real name is Henrik. 41, male, from Denmark, so might post at odd times for you. 2 kids (4 and 6 (and congrats to Kazmuk!)) which is why I started pbp. Been playing since I was a kid, had a long break because of life but started up again about 10-12 years ago.
I've started to read through what's happened up til now, but haven't gotten far yet.
Seems like most bases are covered, but are there some area where you think you could use a hand?
I was thinking of an int built, either a alchemist/investigator or an arcanist. Both are some I've tried to use before, but never got very far with them, but I'm open for almost anything.
Have you been talking roles for the council yet? Of what you would like to do, when that time comes?

Rillka Cloudhopper |

Hello New Guy Henrik; and welcome!!
We are happy to have you join!
I play Rillka, a halfling storm-born sorcerer. We are on the third DM and have had many party members come and go - I am not an original; Gird and Andreas are the only two originals I think...
Play whatever makes you happy! We have discussed roles but that was long ago so lots of PC changes.

Kazmuk Doortsgarf |

Welcome Henrik.
Kazmuk is a dwarf cleric of Torag. His concerns are mostly crafting and improving the community and I've been playing him with a advisor/teacher vibe.
I'm also not one of the originals and from our current roster I'm the last one to join, even if three others have joined and left since then.
If possible, just try not to pick something that would be against the teachings of Torag, like a kobold, orc, or goblin, as an example. Between your two concepts, I believe the alchemist/investigator would bring more to the table, but feel free to pick whatever you want to!

Sir Andreas Eisfalke Von Ulm |

Welcome Henrik,
Glad to have you aboard.
I agree with Rillka in that you should play what you feel will be fun and enjoy your time with us. We have a great group here that involves some really good RPing.
Gird and I are two of the original players from November of 2016. We have had our fair share of DMs and I would like to actually finish book one for a change. It has been a lot of fun over the years.
As for me
I am 50 with two kids myself 5 and soon to be 9. I have been playing since the red box basic sets soooooo many years ago. Rillka and I have been playing D&D since the 90s. We still play with the same group to this day.
The Kingdom roles have not been discussed in game as we are no aware of that part. Most of our characters have been built towards a particular role or roles. Nothing is set in stone and I am looking forward to the role play that will come when our characters finally know.

Allo Gird here, Inquisitor, dex type build so sneaky priest type.
46 1 kid, Perth Australia
Work and health issues with missus have kept me occupied, should be ok to get back into it..
Going away Wednesday for a week, next week though.. other than that posting should pick up.

Hallo again.
Thanks for the welcome!
Finally got a character done!
Meet Rhavi, as she is know as by her friends.
I'm gonna get her up on the site here tomorrow, but just wanted to get this to you now. Sorry it took so long. Let me know if I should change anything

Rhavaniel "Rhavi" |

Well, toke a little longer than expected but here she is!
(Still pending GM approval ;-) )
Looking forward to getting in to the game!!

Rhavaniel "Rhavi" |

Hey there
How are everyone doing? All good? Need to move it along so I can get in on the action! ;-p
How often are we aiming to post? Is it just once or twice a week?

Rhavaniel "Rhavi" |

Great! I'm looking forward to it :-)

Kazmuk Doortsgarf |

Each square of this map is 10ft. or 5ft.? I was thinking 10, because of the size of our tokens, but then I saw the bed on the lower floor...
If the map has 5ft. squares, then Kazmuk is already in melee with the bandit, though he'd not be able to swing in any case.

Rhavaniel "Rhavi" |

Oh my, you've had your fair share of people coming through here!
For most APs it would be a little weird but not for this one. Having people take up other roles, like staying at olegs makes sense here.
Reading through the gameplay, I'm just gotten to the time where Rostam toke over. I like the way you all play. Making me look even more forward to meeting you in-game :-)

Sir Andreas Eisfalke Von Ulm |

As far as I remember and this was a very loooong time ago. We never used the feat tax rule when you took over as DM Rostam. That being said if you would like us to recalculate our characters to your build rules...that is fine with me. At least I did not use it...I only have two feats mounted combat and exotic weapon proficiency.

Rhavaniel "Rhavi" |

And now I actually got a little further along and in this one it says you're not using the feat tax rules
https://paizo.com/campaigns/Kingmaker4t9lw/discussion&page=15#736

Kazmuk Doortsgarf |

Kazmuk is not using those rules and it would not benefit him too much so far. That being said, it is a great help for more combat oriented builds.

Rhavaniel "Rhavi" |

That being said, it is a great help for more combat oriented builds.
Exactly. It helps a bit with the gab between martials and magic-users. I like them. Probably wouldn't help me to much either.

Rhavaniel "Rhavi" |

Wuhu, got through all 88 pages of both the gameplay and the discussion :-) that's some journey you've been on!!
Whish I had any actual writting skills and I'd make it in to a book ;-)

DM Rostam |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

Well I hope you at least found it interesting.
On another note, Rhavi has asked about crafitng times for small items and I would like to use my irl house rules for it. :
You may craft two items in one day using any Crafting Feat or Skill so long as the item costs 250 gp or less, or it would take less than 4 hours to craft each item on a Crafting check. If you do this you take 8 hours to craft the items.
Ex. Scroll of Fireball costs 187gp therefore two can be crafted in a day, taking 8 hours to do so.
Ex. 20 arrows costs 1 gp, therefore it takes 10 sp as a crafting time. The DC for this check is 12. With 1 rank you have a 4 to craft(arrows) so by taking 10 you roll a 12x14 = 168 for the week/ Divided by 7 this is 24. Since 10 is less than half of 24 this would take less than 4 hours so you could make 40 arrows a day.
Let me know if you have any objections.
