Hey y'all just a quick update but I'm changing a bit of Derra's background in which she doesn't have a boyfriend. That way since it looks like Derra and Andreas will have to be co rulers, things won't be awkward between our two characters.

Just thought y'all should know.

Just an update to all my tables: I'll be traveling this holiday weekend and absent for most of the time. I'll be back next week but my connectivity should be a little spotty at least on the first days. Hey just a question.. if we are expecting to ambush.. why would we have weapon's sheathed? Is there some reason Andreas did not have his weapon out ready to strike? You could charge from cover and attack the hodded guy! Fenn's offer of surrender is a smoke screen.. he really does not think they will surrender.. so just attack.. THAT was the plan right? The way it is set up.. Oleg was always going ot be in danger as he was GOING to have to meet the bandits anyways. YOU ALL wanted to fight.. so don't get cold feet now.. there was never any subtly to this plan {other than be in position to spring out on them and attack when the gate is closed}.. get in there and hit them! You fight or you be subtle.. there is really no in-between course here that I can see. OH wait.. Andreas can't challenge as a swift action? If that's the case yeah.. you were never going to attack in the surprise round anyways.

All that Fenn did was start the fight.. ONE of us was going to have to challenge them to stop what they were doing.

in a surprise round we can do a move action or a standard action. So I moved to protect Oleg and engage the hooded figure.
My hope was to have Oleg do what he needed to do and get away from the area before we set the trap in motion. I was also hoping to get the bandits off the horse as well. I was thinking that since they came in on horse they would need to get off of them to pack them up and then we would ambush them. It did not go that way so now we are working with what we have. It will be fine, no problems at all. I was just playing up the tactics part, that is all.

Ohh and yes we had always planned to take them down but since you stood up and declared your intents...well...Andrea just can not run out and gut someone now. not like this..lol

:) Cool... yeah.. Fenn was a little anxious. waiting for them to dismount might have been a good idea.. but with the gate shut... it won't do them much good. They are not likely riding warhorses.. so they will be more a threat to the Bandits, getting thrown in a fight, than actually help them..

But btw after watching Captain America Civil War, I got an idea: would it be possible to have Derra charge through the stable walls/doors and continuing to charge at the bad guys? I'm not sure how the rules would work except having her take some non lethal damage from running straight through a wall. I probably should have warned y'all that I'm one of those players who likes to push the envelope when it comes to creating unique ways to use the rules.

Luckily for you, I'm one of those GMs who likes to see envelopes pushed. Yes, you can charge through the stable doors since they aren't locked or anything.

No, but I was referring to the swinging door of the stable (there was a chance you hit them just right to where it didn't hurt you), which is what you actually charged through per your shortest route on the map, so that 7's a 5.

I ended up just intimidating- basically he got in melee with the guy and ready to try to gore him off the horse, but first tried to intimidate him (and hopefully not have to resort to lethal violence).

Oleg is holding his ground, but he'll probably move if you tell him to move.

And as long as the player is okay with it, my policy is generally to allow other players to bot a co-player's PC as needed to keep the flow.

Please feel free to check the Round spoilers for turn order. I don't mind y'all going ahead of each other if multiple PCs go before the next NPC, but you'll want to wait for any NPCs that move before you to go, as it may change your action.

It's heavy. Other than what I've told you, you can't discover anything else w/o a Spellcraft DC 15 check.

Sorry folks... wizardry and some magical healing is in the works for Fenn... but I can't do it at 1st level... I need at least 2nd level to provide such resources for the party. 1st level just sucks!

...Which is why I wanted to follow the bandits and take them all out in one fell swoop... together they are all a high CR and thus worth more xp. 'Shrug'

My post on the gifts did not show up on my edited version of my previous post..so here it is

Andreas stands as the Jolly fat man steps forward with a shield. He was not sure what to make of it...was this a joke, lack of sleep, or maybe he has finally cracked under the pressure. His hand rested on the hilt of his weapon, ready to defend his companions and himself if the need should arise. Seeing that no threat was imminent, Andreas visibly relaxes and picks up the shield that has been so generously gifted to him.
I humbly thank you kind sir. This shall be put to good use. I am sure it will help us bring peace and prosperity to the lands.

When Happs makes his jab at Annurian, he seems perplexed at first. Not sure what to make of the unwanted or unwarranted verbal attack.
I have looked at the map and it seems to me about a days travel by horse to get to the area of your camp. Which means that we should be able to make it by night fall. Giving us some time to rest and relax before we head out to find your friends. Now if we were to walk, then yes it would take us two days. I must thank you for the horses as they will make our travels that much easier. It was very kind of you to allow us to use them.

TOOOTALLY forgot about the horses. That is, Happs did. Happs forgot about the horses...^^
