Hi all. Balmir's friend here, still interested in playing in a healer role. I'll be a day or three with character creation and reviewing the game to date, if that's ok. It looks like you've got a clerical npc in the meantime.
Any specifics other than "somebody who can cure"? Anything particular I should be packing ("ooo, you didn't bring a gas mask *or* a duck? This is going to be a tough level ...")?
Given the nature of this AP, also keep the following in mind:
* We fight a lot of giants, who have reach, so ability to heal may worry about reaching the party. Healing by channeling or reach spells might be easier than constantly casting defensively to deliver touch heals in combat.
* Also because we fight a lot of giants, they tend to have crummy Will saves, so if you're going to use offensive spells, that might be a good one to target.
* Make sure you can use a healing wand! I know, if you're playing a healing caster that's pretty much assured, but I've seen some weird builds over the years.
* Make sure you can take a hit or two. Giants sometimes throw big rocks. If you get pasted in one shot we might not be able to get you back on your feet. :)
I've rolled up a tentative character; have a few questions before I lock it down:
1. Rolling an eighth-level character leaves me with some gold burning a hole in my pocket; restrictions on buying magical items? There's a headband I've got my eye on ...
2. To what extent are we tracking supplies (food, arrows, etc.)?
3. Ok, rocks; how big we talking? (jk).

First, on equipment, go ahead and use your WBL with no one item being more than 1/2 of your money.
Other than magical or special ammunition, I have been sort of hand-waving the small stuff (which actually might have been a problem for this AP since you are so far from civilization!)
Also, as you join, Derrik will go on hiatus, so he has a few items you might want to consider in your purchases. For that matter, if anyone is interested, we can transfer them. These were specific things you quested for to help defeat the giants, so I hate for them to disappear simply due to attrition.

I usually am able to post beforehand when I won't be available to post, but my last couple of days at work took every ounce of my mental energy. I'm just digging out today, and should be able to post by the end of the day.

Just checking to see if I understood everything correctly. We are now behind the palisade and in front of a gigantic cathedral carved into the face of the mountain. This is high above the valley floor where there are lots of giants camped in tents.
There was a description of stairs leading from the valley floor up to the gates but I assume there is also a ramp or the cart carrying us would have had a hard time get up there.
Also, there is a large cave in the cliffs on the western side of the valley floor and that is different than the cathedral where we're at.
Do I have it right?
Convenient to get brought right into the cathedra if that is accurate.
Yes, you have it correct. The smell was bad, but it did get you past a couple hundred giants!

Hello all - sorry for going silent with no warning. My wife's mother passed away this weekend, and between that and the holiday season, we are scrambling to get everything in order. I am posting this same note to all of my groups, so some of you will likely see it more than once.
I suspect I won't be only until after Christmas, and maybe not even until after the new year. I will try to catch up on games where I can, but I don't expect to be very successful. If I am a player, please feel free to bot me or drop me as needed. If you bot me, all resources are available to you - I am not worried.
For those I am running, I certainly won't me able to organize combat as I will be remote. But feel free to continue RP if available and I can answer questions as I get a chance.

I am sorry to hear that, losing a parent is very hard and made worse by timing of the holidays.
It has been rough, particularly on her husband who is in severe grief. But I am back for the most part now, and we can go ahead and continue.
