Remember! I can make all kinds of magic items! Assuming we have a couple weeks of downtime, most stuff can probably be built at half cost!

can you enchant stuff? I would have to buy a master work shield first, Derrik needs those arm bands that help with weight

A little time in town doesn't sound bad. It doesn't feel like there is a ticking clock.

Might be good to find a few scrolls and add to the spell book, pretty much all I have is damage stuff. Still, that would be a last up sort of thing.

*Edit*
Might grab some Cold Iron and Silver arrows. Just in case. It is a tomb after all.

You can cast masterwork transformation yourself (it's a 2nd-level cleric spell) to make your shield a masterwork item, then I can enchant it. If you don't already have one, though, I suggest a masterwork darkwood shield (257 gp), since it has no armor check penalty.

I can make muleback cords for 500 gp, which are the item that increases your carrying capacity as if your strength score were 8 points higher.

I would say a few weeks in Trunau to craft are no problem.

Right I forgot about that spell, I will do that then have you enchant it.

@ Somer look at the Blanch's, they are more cost effective since they apply to so many arrows and you only lose it when it damages something. So you can do it way a head.

Male Dwarf Fighter/8 | HP: 60/73 | AC: 25 T: 12 FF: 23 (+4 vs. giants, +4 mobility) | CMB: +12 CMD: 24 | Fort: +10 Ref: +4 Will: +3 | Init: +3 Perc: +5

I get a new feat. Here are the ones I'm considering:

Bloody Assault -- adds 1d4 bleed to my damage (with a -5 to attack)
Combat Reflexes -- more AoO
Following Step -- adds 5 more feet to "step up" feat
Great Cleave -- more cleaves

I'm leaning towards Bloody Assault but I don't like that -5.

Any ideas?

As for gear, am I the only one that has Gorum as a deity? If so, I can take the sword but my main weapon is still Agrimmosh. Maybe it would be better to sell it.

I currently have 4x potions of CLW (didn't have them on my sheet before so I forgot I had them). I don't mind if Mouser carries the rest of the potions. Also, Mouser can have the potion of resist energy.

I don't think there is any other gear on the list that I need. According to my Herolab profile, I only have 58gp since I spent everything that I had before. If we sell enough so that I get enough gp then I would love it for Tam to make me a strength belt -- but we can't call it a belt of giant strength or I might not be willing to wear it. :-)

Derrik, thanks for reminding us about the blanches. If we have enough gp, I'll try to get a couple of those in case my weapon needs them at some point.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

I personally have no use for magic armor or weapons, of course, and I think it's probably best to sell the sword and the half-plate.

I know little about Step Up but would an extra five feet help deal with reach from giants? I assume they have reach.

Never seen the blanches before. Neat. Oh GM, what would their availablity be? Can get fifty cold iron or silver arrows if the Blanches are not an option? I think they are 300ish GP for 50 if they are unavailable?

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

The Step Up chain is really just for chasing down people who are trying to run away from you. Typically this means when a caster takes a 5' step back and you Step Up so you can hammer them and not let them cast a spell without consequences.

Getting inside giant reach is harder, typically use Acrobatics skill, the Mobility feat, the Just Out of Reach feat, or some kind of concealment.

Attacking:
Morning Star +5 (1d8+1), Light Crossbow + 3 (1d8 16 Bolts) CMB +4/CMD 14 l; Channel Energy 0/4 (2d6)
HP 51 l AC 19 (FF 19, T 10) l F+8/R+3/W+11 l Ini +4 l Perc +9

Belt of Oxen Strength?

Great cleave will be ok but since the giants will occupy more space it will be harder to cleave with a non reach weapon.

There is punishing assault and others that go off of power attack.

Now that you mention it, I think it would be good to take Dodge and then Mobility. Getting in close enough to hit giants is a challenge sometimes.

Is there something called "Belt of Oxen Strength" or is that just what we'll call it?

Male Dwarf Fighter/8 | HP: 60/73 | AC: 25 T: 12 FF: 23 (+4 vs. giants, +4 mobility) | CMB: +12 CMD: 24 | Fort: +10 Ref: +4 Will: +3 | Init: +3 Perc: +5

I'm all updated now. At least, until we decide on gear.

My AC is now 25 (29 against giants). When Derrik puts barkskin on me that puts me over 30 against giants. :-)

Attacking:
Morning Star +5 (1d8+1), Light Crossbow + 3 (1d8 16 Bolts) CMB +4/CMD 14 l; Channel Energy 0/4 (2d6)

Nice, I can use the barkskin scroll as well since it is on my spell list with the domains I picked. How much hard cash did we get?

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Not a lot. If we sell the sword and the half-plate that's a few thousand.

Blanches are fine.

I am travelling this week, so I doubt we get started in full, but if we can sort out equipment, that would be good.

I haven't resorted the loot yet in case you want to make changes, but by selling off everything unmarked or marked as Sell, you have about 37000 gold.

If everyone is happy with this, I will finish cleaning up the sheet.

Well that is a far amount of gold.

I would like to grab the following, not much really.

3x Weapon Blanch - Cold Iron - 60gp
3x Weapon Blanch - Silver - 15gp
MW Agile Breastplate - 550gp

HP 51 l AC 19 (FF 19, T 10) l F+8/R+3/W+11 l Ini +4 l Perc +9

I will get Derrik's stuff updated this week, the only think is I want my shield up graded since moving around might get me killed. I will need a way to range heal Balmir and Mouser.

Derrik, have you looked at the long arm spell? It seems to give you an extra 5 feet of reach. I wonder if that would work for casting touch spells.

It's a level 1 spell so a wand should only cost 750gp and each casting lasts for 1 minute/level.

Just an idea.

Knowledge | GSC | Mummy's Mask | WftC | RotR$ | Carrion Crown

That would absolutely work. Only problem is that it won't last too long. But it is certainly helpful for this purpose.

*EDIT*
I fixed the spreadsheet.

The formulas will not all work because there is a question mark after some of the names. Please take a moment to claim what you want and if you do not want it remove the name from that column. If things are not claimed I will move to the sell column and our total gold available will go up.

As it stands, if I have done it right, we have 37k in gold at the moment.

Then we can work out what we have. Mouser, Tamxander and Derrik you should both get to invest as you have far less wealth then Balmir and I.

Sounds good, I don't know if investing in a magical weapon would be best but I guess then I can overcome some DR if I get that close. Upping my AC will only work for so long, wands and scrolls might be best for buffing and allowing me to be more flexible.

Sounds good, we have travel time to where ever we are going next as well so we have build time then too.

I will play around with loot tonight for Derrik, I will have to look up Trunau's buying/selling cost so I know what is available.

Knowledge | GSC | Mummy's Mask | WftC | RotR$ | Carrion Crown

Sorry folks - yes, I was in Chicago for work Sun-Wed, and then back again Fri-Sat. I had expected to be able to keep up at night, but was just too exhausted after 10-12 hours of meetings...

Also, just a heads up, I will be out over the holiday (Jul 3-7), but this is family and so I will have to play it by ear.

Once that is all done, though, I will be good to get into it strong again.

We do need to sort out the loot. Here are the question marks, so if you could please respond, we can move on. Meanwhile, it sounds like Somer has the right idea, so we just need specific expenditures for those spending the cash.

Balmir - will you be taking:
Gorum’s thorn?

Derrik - do you want:
Scroll of barkskin?
Headband of alluring charisma +2

Everything else, I either split or sold. I have also cleaned up a few items. Derrik - you had 3 breastplates! So I sold the two lesser ones, and kept the best (the weird ironwood +1 that can't actually exist per the rules).

Remember: I keep the spreadsheet for all of your stuff. If you have equipment listed on your page as well, that's fine, but they should match. So everyone take a quick minute to audit your list vs mine and let me know of any differences.

Tam - if you want to start "saving" for something big down the road, we can make a note in the expenditures area to set cash aside for you.

I think we would be better off selling Gorum's Thorn.

Or, is the GM making a strong suggestion that we keep it?

I checked everything else that you have listed for Balmir and it all seems good.

If I end up with enough gp, I'd like to ask Tam to make the strength belt. I'll also try to get some weapon blanches.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Yeah, if I have the cash and time I'll make myself a headband of intellect +2 but other than that it's all going into savings for now.

Knowledge | GSC | Mummy's Mask | WftC | RotR$ | Carrion Crown

As far as I know, Gorum's thorn serves no other purpose than being a +1 keen greatsword that also allows (if the weilder worships Gorum) a free trip against giants on a critical hit. Pretty neat, but I don't really see anyone in this party that would benefit from keeping it.

Selling that, plus the other gear you didn't keep, brings the total up to 44k.

I suggest reserving 15,000 for Tamxander's eventual purchase, and let Derrik and Mouser each spend about 10,000 - that makes you all a little closer to even, and still leaves 9000 if you want to add some here or there to boost something you are missing.

Of course, anything that helps Balmir hit something probably benefits all.

That frees me up for a cooler cloak.

Derrik don't forget that you may want to use a heavy darkwood shield instead of just a typical heavy wooden shield, because it has no armor check penalty (so slightly less of a bad time on those Climb and Stealth checks).
