GM Elton |
The affect is, you can't see the damage you did. You are looking in all the wrong places for it.
The ray does it. And you do do amamge.
The attack that Danir did was enough to put the enemy down.
Othan, he has taken hits, and the other guard is slipping and sliding so much that he falls off the bridge as he tries to run after Ebran. But his feather of featherfall allows him to fall safely to the bottom.
Ebran Asur |
Ebran has 3 rounds of invisibility, he will haul ass out of the immediate vicinity, dodging through alleys and such if possible. He counts the seconds in his mind, and when it is almost up he looks for a place to hide more conventionally (with the stealth skill stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (10) + 13 = 23).
He will then look at the astrolabe (assuming he is effectively out of combat by that point) with detect psionics. Either way, whatever result turns up, he will then look around to make sure the coast is clear before continuing by whatever means seems prudent to get to the lyrandar enclave.
If necessary, he will take lifts, leap off of bridges, etc. He has catfall as a power.
Danir |
Noting that Ebran grabbed the Astrolabe and then vanished, Danir will head to the House Lyrandar enclave in Sharn- both to make sure Ebran gets there and also to meet up with him. He will motion to any of the others as he goes to pull back as well- having got what they came for, they need stay no longer.
Absylon |
Abyslon will follow suit, however he is pulling a disappearing act to get to the bank, grab some gold and get some supplies for his new "identity"...
I will be gone for a while, I need to make appropriate purchases and so forth for "security" reasons...
stealth1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 28
GM Elton |
The guards' boss comes out and says, "What happened here?"
"They stole the Astrolabe."
The boss takes out his sword and plunges it through the guard's chest. "Failures, all of you."

Congrats! You all GAIN A LEVEL!

The enclave of House Lyrandar is on top of the tallest tower in Sharn. The highest tower, where the Skyships usually dock. The enclave is full of people, but you seem to know where to instinctively go. To the beautiful kiosk that shows where everyone is.
The kiosk, which magical in nature, is lit up to show each department.
* Information
* Administration
* Flight Deck
* Ticket sales
blah. blah. blah. . . all the way to apartments. It was a typical Lyrandan Airport.
Absylon |
Absylon will withdraw 300 gold from his bank account and buy a Kit, Disguise (it would likely be sold as a cosmetic kit which in a way it is) and then proceed to grill a few bars and taverns for information on local magic shops, their inhabitants and the habits/schedules of said inhabitants...
Hp dice1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

GM Elton |
Well, the office of Administration was quite simply not what you'd expect. You'd have a sensechal waiting and taking down notes by candlelight. And, you Ebran, see a beautiful half-elf girl with the dragonmark on her thigh talking to a man by crystal ball.
The Seneschal says, "Yes, can I help you?"
GM Elton |
Are any of us with Ebran?
Xov, I don't think you are with Ebran while he talks with the Elder. This is a house issue yes, but his allies aren't invited to the "office." You'll probably get invited to the elder's home. :) In Skyway. :)
Consider yourself in the Seneschal's office.
GM Elton |
Ebran walks in to the office. "Good Evening," Ebran says, before quietly waiting for the Elder to speak.
"Well, Ebran, they tell me you have gone through quite a rite of passage," says the Elder. "Believe me, I know. Your associate in the Citadel contacted me about it. Thought it was crazy to make you do it. Congratulations on being released as a prisoner of war. So, tell me about your parents?"
Ebran Asur |
"Parents?" Ebran says, the question taking him by surprise. "Back in Sarlona. Father, human; mother, half-elf. We lived near the Haztaratain Monastery in Adar, and I trained there as a boy. When the war against the dark hit close to home, my parents sent me away by ship to Aundair. I haven't been back."
Indicating his dragonmark, he adds, "I think i got this from my mother's side."
Danir |
While the group (apparently minus Absylon)waits for Ebran to complete his debriefing, Danir pulls Xov aside for a chat...
"I understand Ebran seeking to attain some sort of standing within his house, and this mission has certainly worked to hone us into a more efficient team but I am starting to think that I shall die only slightly wealthier than I was in the POW camp- do you think that we shall be financially compensated by House Lyrandar for this 'errand' on their behalf?"
GM Elton |
"Yes, oh, and see the secretary about your certificates of credit," he said.
His secretary had five certificates of credit worth 10,000 galifars each, made out to Ebran and his associates. Each were notarized by a member of house Sivis, making them all legal to use with the Banking Guild.
Othan |
Othan will go looking for a +2 breastplate, followed by a handy haversack. Once that is accomplished he will get a set of fine clothing that matches his new armour and makes him look suitably like a fashionable and dashing mercenary.
The armour has a book value of 4350
The handy haversack 2000
Not sure on the clothes cost.

30 gp is a courtier's outfit. A noble's outfit costs about 20, I think.
Ebran Asur |
Ebran steps out of the office, letters of credit in hand. He hands one to each member, tucking his in his inside coat pocket along with one for Absylon.
"in three days, I have an induction ceremony, and you all are invited. We must wear nice clothes, and I would appreciate it if you all would attend and wear nice clothes. These are letters of credit to the tune of ten thousand galifars to improve your gear and wardrobe. We will take an airship to the Skyway three days from now."
Danir |
With his letter of credit secured, Danir makes preparations for the next leg of their journey and the upcoming celebration for Ebran's ascension into House Lyrandar.
Going first to a House Cannith outfitter to get his family discount, Danir haggles with the shop keeper to get a decent trade-in value for the pristine condition gear he currently had and then purchases a masterwork value light crossbow and Morningstar to replace the base ones he had been using, as well as purchasing a brand new suit of Cannith-forged Mithral Chainmail armor in exchange for his leather. Almost as an afterthought, he also purchased 20 standard bolts for his crossbow as well as shelling out for 3 silver tipped and 2 adamantine tipped bolts, just in case the need for them might arise.
based on the results of the appraise checks we both made, whatever you think is fair for trade value- keep in mind that he paid only 16 G 2 S 5 C for this same gear new as he got it at 25% of normal cost
Done with basic outfitting, Danir made his way to a merchant district where he would be able to get the necessary component materials to craft shiftweave garments for both himself and Ebran, as a present to the half-elf so that they would be finely attired for the party. He also picked out the materials he knew he would need to make a particular item that Xov had commissioned his services for and a few more items that he wanted to make for himself. So loaded, Danir fetched himself a skycoach for getting himself and his parcels back to the tavern where the group had set base.
Xov |
Once he is sure his credit is valid, Xov went out about Sharn to spend it.
I ought to have a highly flexible outfit.
Xov looks for a set of Sleeves of Many Garments.

Ebran Asur |
Once he has delivered the bank note to Absylon, Ebran sets off to spend some of his hard-earned gold. Making several trips in and out of the Kundarak Bank in Korranath so as not to carry the whole sum around, Ebran peruses the fine shops of Platinum Heights, settling on a fine chakram with a crystal blade and picking up some jewelry fit for a noble. That night, he meets with Danir for drinks over near Ashblack and gives him the gold to cover supplies for the Shiftweave Garment and magical glove he had commissioned.
On the second day, Ebran spends most of his time in Everbright, looking at pieces of mithril armor before settling on a chain shirt of fine mithril links. He takes it over to Den'iyas to be sewn into a finely made cloth shirt of deep violet color.
On the morning of the third day, Ebran swings back my the Cannith Enclave to pick up his shiftweave and glove before taking a trip through the Mystic Market in Clifftop to pick up a magical cloak and ring, common fare among adventuring types, with most of his remaining galifars.
Danir |
Coming to the conclusion that he should have a small, secondary melee weapon for fighting in areas where his Morningstar was not feasible, Danir went to a House Cannith Weapons Shop and pays for a Masterwork quality Dagger forged from pure adamantine. He picks this up the next day before doing his 8 hours of work on completing Ebran's outfit.
Since this weapon is listed in the rulebook under specific magic items, I'm guessing he's paying full price for it- 3002 Galifars

(I warn you, I haven't had much sleep last night)
-----------------------------------------------
for the all the fun you had last week, Caius has given you special permission to fly to Skyway, along with some fake documents describing you as people of non-interest (with the exception of your 'half-orc' companion).
Flying to skyway was a blast on one of the famous House Lyrandar Skyships. But then, it was always a blast. Caius sends you a recorded message. And it plays:
"I assume you are all ready and cleaned up. So, you can get to work. On your desk are three dossiers for three of the Citadel's informants in Thrane.
"The King wants to put an end to the disputed territory over the western part of Lake Brey. He figures that if the dispute can be put to an end, then the last of the matter for the Last War will be ended for Breland. You have been provided with three dossiers on key Citadel Agents Thrane.
"Each dossier has a name on it with the Citadel's supposed profession. The first is Sister Nicolas, of the Church of the Silver Flame. Her dossier says she is a Thranish Puritan suspected of being a part of the Gnostic Church (those that worship the Whispers of the Dark Flame).
"The second was an orcish woman who goes by the name Sister of the Night. And the last is Baron Thalissas d'Lyrandar; who would be attending the coming of age party for the group. The idea of the group is simple: obtain information from them. Of the three, Sister Nicolas may have something for you to do.
"Concerning your search for the lost schema, one of our Thranish informants may have information on where it is. We believe it is in Thrane. Which of them, I can't say. Congratulations, you have proven yourselves and now you are agents at large. You don't represent Breland or the Citadel officially, but the Citadel will provide you with any help you need in completing your mission. And your mission is to bring closer to the territorial dispute between Thrane and Breland.
"That is all. This dragonstone will go dead."
The Stone of Eberron that it was recorded on definitely goes "dead." It turns black and crumbles.
Ebran Asur |
Ebran stands on the airship, leaning against the rails as Skyway grows larger in their view. He wears the finery of a noble, his tailored clothes being a patterned sea of violets and blues. He wears a dark blue cloak of similarly exquisite quality, and platinum forms his brooch, the pin through his puff tie, buttons and cufflinks. Dark blue velvet gloves cover his hands.
Ebran looks the half-orc up and down. "Who are you?"
Othan |
Othan is wearing a set of new clothes as he boards the sky ship. The fine cut and cloth matches his new and highly polished breastplate but are at odds with the rough features of the shifter. Though the dark earthy colours do seem to suit him. He has a backpack that he stashes in his room but appears to have no weapons on him. Those who know him realize that while this makes him seem less dangerous, his mind is a more powerful weapon than most nobles could buy.
