Xov casts Detect Magic, aimed at the door and walls..

No magic is detected.

You'll get better information if you get your familiar inside.

Ebran shops around for a few hours.

shopping stuff:

Ebran will look for the following things:

Fighter's Guild:
Mwk Backpack (50gp)
fighter's kit (9gp)
Buckler (5 gp)
Longbow (75gp)
Arrows, Common, 40 (2gp)
Whistling Arrows, 20 (2gp)
Arrows, Thistle, 10 (10gp

Mage's Guild or general market:
Scroll Box (5gp)
Sleeve of Many Garments (200gp) not sure about this item, i would only consider buying it if it were not single-use. it doesn't say it is-single use, like many of the PFSRD wondrous items say, but it is pretty cheap for such an item. granted, it isnt as powerful as a hat of disguise or anything, but just wondering.

General Market:
Clothes, Traveler's (5gp)

General Market or appropriate "back alley stall":
Mwk Stealth Tool, likely a particularly special cloak or boots (50 gp)

However, if there is danger inside, I do not which to put him needlessly in harm's way. Moreover, Ven'Xol can only communicate basic emotions to me, so we may not get substantial information. Hmm..."
Are there any windows on the building? If so, I send Ven'Xol to climb up the wall and look in. He has a climb speed of 20, a climb bonus of +11, and can always take 10 while climbing due to his racial climb speed, so he might be able to climb up.

When the Flame can't convert one via open discourse and reading from their damned collection of texts they look for someone other then themselves to blame. And the favored targets are the Dark Six, the Blood and the Sovereign Host. As this would not be the first time in Breland that Flame assassins were sent to butcher a Blood priest and scare those who followed him.

"If that is the case, then we shan't go in. You know, my family was killed and my home destroyed by the armies of Thrane, and I understand your hatred. But little can be gained from breaking in to an abandoned temple, nor would it be wise to fight a group of priests of the Flame. Nor, for that matter, would I have any reason to assist you if you did attack them. In any case, it does not seem anyone is here to welcome you or I, so we may as well leave this place. I would like to get some trail rations before we head to the lightning rail, for I have no intention of being caught without food."

"Say, when we were on the train together, you mentioned discovering the "truth" about the Blood of Vol, upon reading something not intended for your eyes. Would you be kind enough to tell me what it is? I understand you would probably not want to share with the half-elf, but he is not here now, and I despise Thrane as much as you. I am...curious. And I can keep a secret."

I would tell you elf if I thought their was anything you could do to help me in the matter. By the Blood it was the reason I was advocating takeover of the Aurum, the problem requires resources that I just don't have available. But I can tell you that its magnitude could cause a civil war amoung the Blood. If such a civil war were to occur it would destroy the Blood. As Thrane would recognize our weakness and would like the twisting serpent they are strike at us.

For if those bastards are good at anything its unleashing a blasted inquisition, I do not want to start the event that will be called the "Blood Purge", as they are gearing up for another grand Purge in an attempt to revitalise their damned faith. Moreover though at least send in your familiar to check whats occured in the temple. If someone is murdering Blood priests I need to inform others in the Blood of what is transpiring.

Danir's list of things to get here is simple enough- component pouch for his infusions, a blank spellbook for use as a journal, an inkpen and a vial of each black and green ink. oh, also:

GM:
A pair of manacles with a simple lock, if they can be found.

"I am deeply curious of the nature of this secret you have. I can gain access to resources beyond what you could do alone, through the Eyes. My family was killed off by the armies of Thrane, I have no love for them...
Remember when I said that I wanted you to earn my trust? Now is your chance!
Do not fear for your secret's safety, keeping secrets is my job. I fear the armies of the Flame as much as you do, and I will not tell this secret to another living soul. You have my word.

The familiar snakes along into the chapel, transmitting what it sees through it's link. The snake flicks it's tongue, tasting the air. It tasted strange. The snake slithered around deeper into the chapel.

Perception 15:

There were several skeletons on the floor in the livery of the Blood of Vol. The bodies were in various states of composition. Although there was no evidence of who did it. Many of the tapestries were torn and ragged, by claws. There were several silver goblets on the floor and the altar. On the alter was black ichor, the opposite of blood. And two figures wearing a mockery of the Livery of the Blood of Vol turned around and saw the snake.

Perception 20:
The Heucuva turned around and saw the snake. their faces were in various states of decomposition. And their livery of the Blood of Vol covered tattered mendicant monk robes. The robes are a dirty brown. And their hand have become bony claws wrapped up in fresh bandages.

Perception 25:
Although they are wearing the livery of the Blood of Vol, behind that livery is the livery of the Whisperings of the Dark Flame. The Heucuva belong to one of the Gnostic Flamist sects.

Are you in a position to negoiate a deal similiar to the one the Blood gave Karnath for Aundair yes I might tell you, the problem is I know not your queen. As I'm not willing to send my fellows into Aundair only to hear of the queen throwing a fit and having them executed. As gambling the fate of the Blood on one of the Five nations unless it were Karnath is simply not something done lightly.

Perhaps it is some other dark cult which has taken over the building, or perhaps some of your fellow Blood members are performing a gruesome ceremony, or have become undead themselves. In any event, I think someone spotted my viper, so unless you are confident that whoever in inside is not hostile, it is probably best for us to flee."

Go get the others except for the half elf I will try to keep out of sight and see if anything exits the temple. And I doubt its my fellows performing rituals, as first their is no coded sign on the door to indicate that a ritual is in progress. Also this temple is to small and minor to be staffed by priests powerful enough to raise even minor undead.

"The others are out purchasing supplies, and I have no way to contact them quickly. Even if I did, I do not know how many of them would be willing to come...
Nevertheless, I expect that at least some of them would be willing to eliminate undead cultists. However, I do not think it wise to abandon you here alone. Come search with me, the cultists are unlikely to leave the place if not provoked.

Kyndril, having purchased what equipment he desired, has met Ebran at the Mages' Guild. Offering a quiet nod to the man, he carefully peers at a few of the inks and interesting ingredients needed to transcribe spells from other spellbooks or scrolls into his own. After a moment, he asks Ebran.

"So, what brings you here, sir?" The magus has to admit, the human who bears the Mark of the Storm interests him. It is an anomaly, and the Draconic Prophecy is an arcane academic's drug, at times.

No way are you guys leaving me out of this. :P

A magus' kit, a scroll of enlarge person, a scroll of reduce person, and a scroll of corrosive touch, all at first caster level?

"Very well then, wait here. Ven'Xol will hide near you, he cannot move as fast as me."
Xov runs off, at full speed.
Ven'Xol stays near Essar.

As he ran, he thought:
Okay, I know some of them went to the mage's guild, so I guess I'll start there. If no one is there I'll check the fighter's guild.

secret:
I still don't want to leave him by himself for too long. Ven'Xol is there, so the Tower of Eyes, is watching him, but some scryers in Fairhaven can't stop Essar from revealing any information he knows to enemies, it will just tell us of his betrayal afterwards. Besides, we are likely to find some treasure in the temple.

When/If Xov finds one or more members of his party (probably Kyndril and Ebran at the mage guild), he says:
"<name of person or people he encounters>, I left Essran at a former temple of blood, which has been taken over by an undead...thing, probably part of an evil cult. If you would help us, we could probably defeat it...if not, I will try to convince Essran to leave it be. However, whatever your decision may be, we must hurry, for I do not think it wise to leave that one unwatched for too long, given the chance he might sell out the secret information he has been given to some foul group. I left my familiar to watch him, though. So what is your choice? Shall we attempt to root out this minor evil?
I will say that while I care little about this distraction, it may comfort our derranged companion, making it easier for him to focus on the task at hand.
"
I am explicitly ignoring Essran's request not to bring Kyndril: If Xov finds Kyndril, and Kyndril is willing to help fight the huecuva, then he will be glad to have help. After all, Xov trusts Kyndril substantially more than Essran
Unless either Ebran or Kyndril are anxious to go fight the creature soon, Xov then goes to find Othan and Danir.

"Aha. I was wondering if Xov and I weren't the only spellweavers in our little merry group." The Khorvar says to Ebran.

The magus turns at Xov's words, arching a brow. Flame help him, why were the Blood permitted in Crossroads at all? It made no sense.

"Of course it has. That's the root of the Blood's teachings, isn't it?" Kyndril sighs. "In answer to your question, yes. Evils must be purged, and the mortal evil is inferior to the supernatural or unnatural evil, such as the undead. Or so the Church teaches. That may be why they haven't bothered with the Aurum at all..." In any case, the magus sighs. "I did not prepare my undead destroying cantrip, unfortunately. I did not expect to have to deal with them in such a city as Crossroads. Foolish of me, it seems. Do you know what sort of undead it is? And does anyone know where our companions are? Danir, or the shifter... What's his name, Othan?"
