Ebran Asur |

Ebran Asur wrote:"You and your group must deliver the encoded message to Reesir Colworn at the city of Crossroads. My suggestion? You take the lightning rail to the city. It's fast, efficient and cheep. Reesir Colworn will explain what to do," said Cassius. He's calm and efficient, experienced with outburst's like the elf's."Well, what's to be done about it then? Ebran asks.
Not that I really need them, but having them is better than not having them...
As he says the following, Ebran looks around to his newfound comrades to judge their reactions to the news that they must stick together.
"Ah, my group you say. And we must wait on another? So it appears we don't have our freedom just yet. However, if we are to ride the rails, we will need more fitting garments than these sad, homespun things. Also a bath. Where might one get such things around here?"
did he give me my 50 gold yet?

![]() |

you all, except Essar, should mention that they picked up their purses of 50 gold.
"Ah, this is an Elf town, so there are many places here you can get new clothes and a bath," said Cassius. Now that Ebran mentioned it, the captain did notice a rank smell among the prisoners. He had gotten so used to it over the past few days releasing prisoners that he hardly noticed the stink. But since Ebran mentioned it, Cassius did hold his nose with two fingers.

Danir |

Danir makes grabs his gold, makes sure that his papers are in order and then waits to see what the group is going to do next, as they seemed surely to still be bound to one-another.
Danir, realizing he had not noticed, checked to see what dragonmark the half-elf bore

Xov |

Xov picked up his bag of gold.
Of course. The Thranish half-elf was planning on bringing theocracy to the Lhaazar Principalities. Those Thranes, always trying to conquer other people for the glory of some camp-fire. Disgusting.
"What? Did you just say that we are in a group together?"
Startled, he looked around at the others.
Pausing, he asked Cassius,
"Where is the nearest store at which I can replenish the ingredients needed for magic?

She writes all the information down, drips the signatory wax on the paper, adds a ribbon, and stamps it. She then notarizes the left side and hands the parchment. "Take your papers to Cassius and he will deliver your stipend, your letter of repatriation, and your pass. GOOD DAY sir," said Piera d'Sivis very roughly.

"Down the street is the Lucky Sorcerer," replies Cassius, "I'd try there."

Cassius hands over to Essar his money. "Here you go, now," said Cassius. "You are all free to go."
He opens the gate and there was Hatheril. In all it's glory, the predominate elf population was walking around greeting each other, and being sometimes polite, sometimes neutral, and sometimes naughty. There were more than a few dwarves, some humans, and some gnomes and halflings. Some of the halflings ride on dinosaurs (mostly Dienonychus), others do not. The places you can immediately see are:
1. A slave market. With many gorgeous and not so gorgeous men and women. Some were absolutely naked, others dressed in little covering their modesty, and others fully dressed.
2. The Lucky Sorcerer.
3. The Lightning Rail Station stands out like a sore thumb.
4. several clothing shops, catering everything from the exotic greywall fashions, to slave fashions, to standard brelish fashions and those speciality clothing shops.
5. A mages Guild
6. A fighter's guild.
7. The Starscale Theatre (owned by House Phairlan)
8. A food market.
9. And several Elf residences, except that most of them are above ground in the trees.
10. five inns, two of which are owned by House Gallandra. They are: The Flying Griffon, the Empty Tankard, the Red Lady, the Tired Dino, and the Way Traveler's Inn.

hmmm....I'm in need of a smithy or jeweler as sadly my holy symbol was lost in the war. Cassius would you know where such a place might be located?
Cassius answers your question by slamming the gate closed behind you and waving good bye with a courteous smile, "You're all free now so you must accept the responsibility that goes along with it."

Danir |

Looking around, Danir feels himself let out a breath that he had not realized he had been holding in... for his whole life. "Free at last, at least free to pick my own cage, " he thought as he looked around for a decent clothing store, and something approaching passable lodgings.

First: Success.
You find Janel's Fine Clothing. The selection seems to be out of this world, they seem to have everything including jewelry. The shop is of typical elvish make. The wood isn't painted, but treated to bring out it's natural shine.
Second: You find the Red Lady, which isn't a Gallandra ran inn. It seems to offer the modest lodgings you require.

Kyndril Mieren |

Kyndril casually picks up his coin bag, making a face as he hears the cleric speak. He glances out at the settlement, expression becoming even more disgusted before he recalls himself. A slave market? Truly, things have fallen far here. After a few moments, he looks to his newly decided companions.
"Alright. Clearly, something is going on. What do the rest of you believe we should do?"
Not that he particularly cared, but it felt oddly good to be part of a unit again. Even when that unit included a Cyran dandy, an Aundairian mage, and a Flame-cursed Vol-worshipper. Well, it could be worse. The others were more suitable, at least as far as the magus is concerned.

Ebran Asur |

In response to the half-elf and others milling about, Ebran says "Well, I intend to go look up the price of the train ticket I need. Then I am going to buy a bow, some arrows, some clothes, and a room and board. Any of you all want to be social, feel free to tag along."
With that, and with "party members" in tow or otherwise, Ebran goes and looks up the price of a ticket to Crossroads. Then, He will go to the fighter's guild to see if they sell bows/crossbows/etc and arrows (as well as a quiver, a pack, some kind of basic adventuring kit).

GM, was Danir's Spellcraft check successful in identifying Kyndril's Mark? Both its type and its strength?
To my knowledge, only your character and Ebran are dragonmarked. If Kyndril has a dragon mark he didn't tell me about, then something's wrong.

The ticket price is 5 gp per stop. The Crossroads is one stop away (and represents when the Lightning rail line from Fairhaven joins with the Lightning Rail Lines from Sharn, Flamekeep, and . . . Metrol).
Standard
By booking standard passage on the lightning rail, you are entitled to a seat in any standard passenger cart. Modest meals are provided in the galley cart and fancier fare is available for additional cost. At night, you are assigned a bunk in one of the sleeper carts. While not terribly comfortable, traveling standard class is generally a good way to relax while getting to your destination.

Essar gathered a small amount of his inner resolve to provide clear vision im casting Guidance
perception check1d20+5
This spell imbues the subject with a touch of divine guidance. The creature gets a +1 competence bonus on a single attack roll, saving throw, or skill check. It must choose to use the bonus before making the roll to which it applies. What is it exactly, you are -- oh, I think I get it.
You find a jewlery shop specializing in holy symbols from a number of faiths next to the clothing shop that Ebran is stepping into.

Othan |

Othan goes to the lightning rail and books passage on the next train to the crossroads, He then goes to the fighter's guild to see if he can purchase some hide or equalivalent armour. After securing some protection he looks for the rest of the former prisoner's, Did they mention anything about further payment for delivering this item?

![]() |

The Fighter's Guild, independent of House Deneith -- is just a place where fighters can get together and train up their skills. Walking in, you see many people training with their swords, and stabbing cloth mannequins and dummies. Other people seem to arrange haphazard jobs. And there is an elf, who looks fetching in his chain armor, that has a number of weapons and armor for sale.
The Armor may or may not look great.

![]() |

Success!
Nothing seems to wrong, except there is one less mercenary to your expectations.
"Hide Armor?" said the elf. "Not many people ask that. Sometimes, they ask for leather jerkins. Infact, most of the time they ask for leather jerkins. I've never had anyone come in and ask for leather armor in many years. Lets see if I have any in stock."
He checks his stocks in the back room. Checking to see what armors he has available. He's moving merchandise this way, that way, trying to find the Hide Armor. He comes out, shrugs his shoulders and says, "Sorry, I can't find any. In fact, I threw out my last set two weeks ago. And I had that for twenty years."

Forgot the Clothes.
She sells:
-- 9 different sets of noble clothing, 9 different sets of exquisite clothing, 9 different sets of Ardov harnesses, several slave silks of many different colors, 10 different sets of common clothing, and the weird stuff from Sharn. There seems to be a lack of Adaran clothing.

Ebran Asur |

Ebran will keep the 5gp cost of the train ride in mind, and head to the fighters guild. He will stand in line behind any other folks waiting in line, give polite greetings, and wait his turn while looking at anything that can be seen.
(looking for ranged weapons of any sort, a few daggers, some armor (likely light, since he doesnt have a lot of money))
EDIT: (and some regular clothes, nothing far-off or exquisite.)

Kyndril Mieren |

Kyndril goes to buy plain, serviceable Brelish clothing, scrupulously avoiding the slave market, lest he grow too angry and do something stupid, as well as the Lucky Sorcerer for his spell component pouch. Realizing he does not have enough for armor at this rate, he sighs, resolves to keep further out of combat, and looks to the fighter's guild member, and asks in Elven

Danir |

After pondering the strange oddity he has just seen, Danir enters Janel's Fine Clothing and looks around. Deciding that his limited budget dictates thrift, he opts to purchase a explorer's outfit-

"What do you ask in return for all of these?", he asks the shop keeper, holding his arms out.
